Yuki stared at Yemon not noticing the other girl in her delirious state of mind. "B-but...I-I don't wanna die." She told him as though she was pleading for her life. There was a small snowflake that turned to water coming out of her eyes. Kiba laid beside Yuki, trying to dig her up as he was worried about her. He whimpered and licked her face. With some of her body undone, she patted his head. "I'm sorry. M-maybe I can come back next winter." Yuki was shaking badly at the thought of dying. And you said you would teach me how to read and write! You only taught me a little bit. I don't wanna die until I learn it so you have to try to help me live long enough! Please?" She stared at him with this pleading look in her eye.
|
Yemon shakes his head, "There's no way for me to do that without breaking my promise to you, besides, I don't think you're dying permanently. I have complete faith that you'll be back and it will be almost like no time has passed for you. I might look older or a bit different, but you'll know its me, alright?" Grabbing her hand he squeezes it tightly. "I'll sing you a lullaby to help you calm down, I'll stay right here beside you." Singing just loud enough for her to hear he sings her a lullaby about a parent having unyielding love for her child, always standing beside them and helping them when they need it until they pass on to the next life, having lived a happy and content life with those that cared about them.
|
"You don't know thing one about me! How would you even know if I would come back? What if I don't what if this was my last moment. You don't care! You don't care if I die!" Yuki felt disgusted with him as she felt like he was letting her die. He acted like he didn't really care which made her think that they obviously weren't friends. She was just means for him to pass the time.
Yawning, the new girl began to wake up and shivered as she felt the icy cold air, or what she felt was icy cold. Looking around, she saw a large wolf, a frozen looking girl who was about to melt away and a human. Without touching the cold ground, she flew over to them. "This doesn't look like Spring. You woke me up too early." She yawned and rubbed her eyes. She looked at the blanket which kept her body warm enough. Looking over at the melting girl she smiled. "You...You're Winter? Khione? I thought we would never meet. Our other sister, Demeter, talks about you, she's the only one who can withstand this cold air." She yawned some more and then turned to the human to greet him. "Hello, I'm Kore, or some people like to call me Persephone! So I don't mind either!" She smiled but as she was unable to hold herself up with her power, she fell down with the blanket still wrapped around her. "This isn't good." She said yawning. "Way too early." |
Yemon didn't want her to go, but he made a promise to her and wasn't going to break that promise. He does his best to pack snow around her to try and keep her cold, "I'm sorry Yuki, but I honestly can't help unless I break our promise! Besides, you said you lived on this mountain for a long time, which means you've had to of been here for many years, so I know you're going to come back!"
When Kona comes over to speak to Yuki Yemon is a bit startled, not having expected her to know about Yuki, "So she is a spirit of winter, which means she'll come back again next winter like I thought! Sorry, I'm Yemon, a human that Yuki helped out, it's nice to meet you Kore. Yuki is really upset, and I don't blame her because she's melting. I am to blame for that because she didn't really know about snow melting as it changes from winter to spring. I wish there was something I could do to keep her here longer since she's my first friend, but I can't do anything without breaking my promise to her." |
"Yeah, well, I only knew about her, we never met. It was impossible since I should be frozen and asleep right now. I'mm not suppose to wake up until the snow fully melts. Also, her name isn't Yuki, it's Khione." Kore corrected him not understanding why he kept calling her Yuki. "I told him that my name was Yuki, I wanted a different name." Yuki explained. Kore just smiled. "Is she always like this? She needs to be more calm." Kore yawned and tugged the blanket around her even more tightly to keep warm. She had trouble staying awake as she felt her body wanting to freeze up. "I can help her live since I bring life in the spring. But I don't know how much you will like it."
Yuki's eyes widen. "I'm interested, I want to live! Tell me how I can live!" She pleaded with her sister. "W-well, I-I can take your soul and put it into another being." She explained but before she could say anything more, she fell asleep and began to freeze up. "No, wake up! Kore, wake up!" But it was no use. She wouldn't budge. |
He got the feeling what he's about to do is going to be a bad idea but he doesn't care, taking off his coat he takes the blanket off Kore and puts the jacket on her. Once he's got her zipped up he wraps the blanket around her, since his coat is a skiing coat its much warmer than a normal winter coat. Trudging back to the snowmobile he grabs another blanket for himself, wrapping himself up in it to try and stay warm. If it wasn't warm enough for the snow to start melting he would have started getting hypothermia.
Walking back over to Kore he starts trying to warm her up again in the way a person tries to warm up by rubbing their shoulders. Though he does have to stop a couple times to warm himself up some, "Come on Kore, please wake back up! You can help Yuki were as I can't!" |
Kore slowly woke back up and yawned. "Hmm? I-is it spring yet?" She asked almost like she forgotten everything the second she fell asleep. But looking around she regained her memory. "O-oh, right." She yawned some more and stretched. "T-this will take a second." she yawned yet again. With a way of hand, a ball of light came from Kiba's body and then she transferred it into Yuki. Kiba's body went limp. Yuki got pissed. What did you do to my Kiba?!" She yelled. Glaring at Kore, she wanted to do horrible things to her. "He's not dead. He's living inside of you. Don't worry, I will put him back before I have to go into hibernation again." She assured her. "Just keep his body around." Kore wasn't even bothered by Yuki's outrage over killing her wolf. Even after explaining things she still wasn't happy but she had stopped melting for now. "Kiba's living inside of you. Look at your reflection." Yuki's appearance had changed. She sported wolf ears and a tail that was pure white like her hair and Kiba's fur. "You can let him out, turn into him." Kore couldn't stay awake any longer after using hr power, she was utterly drained of all of her energy to keep her eyes open and then fell back asleep.
"I don't want Kiba inside of me! I want him beside me!" Yuki growled at her but when she hear herself growl she was shocked. "T-that came from me?" Turning her attention to Yemon, she didn't look please. " And here I thought we were friends and you much rather have me melt than be friends." Sh walked over to Kiba and just petted him as she laid beside him. |
Yemon just watches in amazement, half tempted to pinch himself to see if he's actually awake. He hadn't expected for Kore to to do that to Kiba, and was going to try and wake him until she said his soul went into Yuki. Though when she gets upset with him because he couldn't do anything he can't help but get mad back.
"You were the one who told me not to tell other humans about you! The only thing I could have done to save you would have involved other humans knowing! You would have been madder at me about that than this, and I didn't want to make you made at me for not keeping my word! And secondly, based on what Kore said you would have come back next winter with all your memory of the time spent with me intact! Even though I can't do anything to help you at least didn't have to worry because you wouldn't actually be dead! I don't have powers like you and Kore, humans are very weak creatures, most of the things that exist in this world naturally possesses the strength to kill one of us, even those that don't hunt to survive!" Fuming, he goes back over to the sleigh, rearranging the stuff on it to try and make some room. When he's done he goes back over to Kiba and starts trying to drag him over to the sleigh to put him on it. |
Yuki crossed her arms still highly upset but she knew that he was right which angered her even more. Sighing she got right in his face. "What, do you hate me now?" She asked curiously as she stared straight in his eyes. The wind was picking up making it a bit colder. Her snow white hair blowing in the breeze, engulfing her and Yemon before she moved back. Seeing him drag her wolf, she was getting upset again. "Where are you taking my dead wolf? He's mine, I have to look after him." She told him. "Maybe I should have died instead. Maybe that would have been better than living alone. I didn't know she was going to do that to Kiba. My precious Kiba." She petted him. "Now I am absolutely alone. I have no one. I'm so sorry Kiba." She had a few small snowflakes which turned to water fall from her eyes again. She then slowly began walking away but allowed Yemon to take her wolf since she really didn't know what to do with his body. Yuki was just meandering around slowly, barely even lifting up her feet. She felt like she lost everything. She saw no point in living since she didn't have a friend, she didn't have Kiba. What was the point. She this Kore even really her sister? What if she was lying just to cause her pain like this for her own entertainment?
|
Yemon doesn't bother answering her, knowing that Yuki was still upset, but answers her about Kiba, "I have no idea how strong you are, but its really hard to move the body around with how big it is. And Kore said he's not dead, his soul is in you." Then he notices her wondering off. "Hey! Get back here! I don't know where you normally stay, how am I supposed to take him to there if you're the only one that knows!? Agh! Stop thinking only about yourself for a change and help me move Kiba! We can't just leave him laying out here! What if a bear comes along and tries to eat him or something? He can't very well defend himself right now!" Yemon might have grown up on the mountains, but he wasn't really all that strong, he could barely move Kiba an inch before he has to stop and take a breather.
|
Yuki turned back and cocked her head to the side as she stared at him. She was getting really angry. Storm clouds began to roll in. Using her powers, she lifted Kiba up using the snow and placed him on the sleigh. "Of course he's dead! His body isn't moving now is it? His body has no soul, his soul is inside of me, but I don't want his soul inside of me, I want it inside of his body. I want to be able to ride on his back, I want to play with him, I want to pet him. I never will be able to do that again! And how can you trust what Kore says?! What if shes lying? What if she's not really who she says she is? That means Kiba is dead!" She growled pinning her ears against her head. "Besides, why should I think of others? It's not like anyone thinks about me! Only Kiba ever thought about me, he always there to protect me, keep me company and now I have no one." She stated. "Besides, there's really not a single place we stay. We just travel around, do whatever will be fun and keep out of view from the humans. So just leave us wherever humans will never go." She instructed. Th anger wiped from her voice as a snowstorm began to take place. The temperature dropped below freezing suddenly.
|
He was going to try and explain that Kiba's body is still living warm when the temperature drops suddenly from Yuki's anger, making him gasp from the sudden cold and fall over. Curling up in the fetal position he tries to tightly wrap the blanket around him, but his hands are already numb as his hands turn blue from the cold. Yemon's face goes deathly pale as well, since all he had on was a sweater and the blanket which doesn't stop the cold from penetrating to the bone. Shaking uncontrollably he can't move or speak, he was just doing his best to stay warm and failing. Looking towards Kore he thinks about trying to reach her to use the blanket on her but can't even move, fighting to keep his eyes open and failing.
|
Noticing Yemon's bluish tone shocked her. She didn't want to hurt him. She was pissed but he looked like he was about to die. Would she be allowed to stop this from happening since this was her fault? Taking the blanket from Kore, she wrapped it around Yemon then used the snow to gently lay him next to Kiba. She then used her powers to pull the sleigh along as she flew to a cabin, the same one that they used before and rushed him inside. "How do I make this place warm?" She asked. It was warm inside, it was the same temperature as it was outside before the sudden drop in temperature. She felt really hot but yet she wasn't sweating. "Oh wow, I-I'm not melting." She was shocked and really happy until she remembered that her pet had to die in order for that to happen.
|
Shivering, Yemon stumbles to the fireplace, grabbing some pgs and tossing them in. He fumbles around with a box near it that holds some tools for the fireplace near the rack holding the poker and tongs. Pulling out of the box some matches, a piece of coal and paper he wraps the paper around the coal, tucking it under the logs and then using the matches to light the edge of the paper. Backing away a bit he closes the grate and sits there shivering as he waits for the fire to start roaring.
"Maybe we need to work on your temper a bit, you obviously don't understand just what you can do with all that power that can be dangerous. And after I get warmed back up we should go back and get Kore, we can't just leave her there for some random person to find." Hunching down in the blanket the looks a lot like a turtle tucking into its shell. "And Kore did say she could prevent you from melting, so this shows she was being truthful. Though she could have asked first about using Kiba, she probably didn't know how close you two were." |
Yuki shook her head. "No, I know how to use my power." She stated. She stayed away from him. She wished she never met him, never saved him. She would still have Kiba, her only friend who's now gone forever. "All you talk about if Kore. Obviously you like her a lot more than me since all you do is defend her actions. You were probably wanting me to melt so you could be with her instead. It wasn't about anything else other than that. If you want Kore, then fine, go wake her up and make her get Kiba out of me and back into his body and let me die in peace." She felt that Yemon much rather have Kore since she was warm. Yuki was cold. He didn't like the cold and couldn't handle the extreme temperature. She still felt so alone. She bet all humans much rather have Kore's springtime around anyway. There was snow that kept falling down fast. Kiba's body was covered with an inch already. She felt more alone now than ever before
|
Burrowing deeper into the blanket he sighs, "I don't even know her, we literally just met. How could I have possibly wanted you to melt for her to come if I didn't even know she was going to pop up?" Taking a peak out of the window he sees the snow and sighs again. "Kore has my coat, which would allow me to tolerate the weather outside since its now snowing. There's no coats in here for me to wear and if I were to go out like this I'd probably freeze to death. Instead of sulking why don't you come over here and I can teach you so more things. I know you were eager to learn about reading and writing. Or at least you were, don't know if you still are. But if you're concerned about Kibe then hurry up and bring him inside, he still has the warm body of something living, so he's not dead-dead. His soul might not be in his body but his body is still alive and being buried in snow is not good for him in that state probably."
|
"So, you barely know me and yet you said we were friends. You probably noticed that she looked normal and thought that you wanted her a friend. And she will keep you warm. I can't. So why would you want to be friends with someone who's cold when you can be friends with someone who's warm? No one likes the cold, therefore, no one likes me." She stated. "So I will go get your coat and you two and be warm together. I will get her to undo this so I can get Kiba back and you two can be the best of friends." She stated. She looked at Kiba for a few more seconds. "He's always been fine out there. Snow doesn't get to him. He's always been fine otherwise, he wouldn't be able to stay with me for as long as he has been." She explained. Letting out a sigh, she rubbed her head. "I have to get your jacket. I really don't feel like being taught anything. It's not like you even care anyway." She shrugged and then left to get back his jacket. It only took her a few minutes before she was back with Kore. She sat her down by the fire and then went out to be with Kiba.
|
He gives up, she obviously in set in how she's thinking and didn't want to listen to others. When she comes back with Kore he turns to look at her than back at the fire, not having the blanket wrapped around him like he did originally since he was basically back to normal now. After Yuki leaves he unwraps the blanket around Kore, takes his coat and wraps her back up in both of the blankets. Putting the coat on he goes back outside, wearing a ski mask to keep his face warm. Grabbing a shovel he starts to dig the snow off of Kiba.
"The reason why I told you not to leave him like this is because you're preventing his body from being able to breath. If his body dies don't you think that would be awful? What if his soul vanishes because of that, or gets trapped in you for forever? Kiba has been helping you for a long time and has always been thee for you, right? Then stop being so concerned about you want and for a change try thinking of what Kiba wants and how to take care of him. That's what I was talking about before." |
Yuki used her powers and moved the snow off of Kiba. "You don't get it do you? Kiba here, he's not like the other wolves. He's different. He's not going to die from this. He's always out here with me so I know it won't affect him. I know my Kiba." She said sharply. Yuki didn't like him accusing her of not thinking about her good friend. "He's been with me for so long." She rubbed his head. "Can you just leave? Take Kore with you and you two can go be happy friends somewhere else." She tightened up her grip on Kiba as she felt this weird sensation within her. She never felt it before and didn't understand what it was. But the feeling was horrible and hoped that it would go away soon. Thinking about Yemon and Kore together just made it worse and that's why she really wanted them to leave so that maybe this feeling would go away also. Now her only friend was gone which made everything so much harder to deal with. Yemon just didn't understand. Kiba had been with her since all she could remember and now to see him unmoving and basically dead, it tore her up inside.
|
Taking the shovel he stands it up in the snow and leans on it, "Okay fine, you know more about Kiba than I do. But do you honestly think he'd want to to be mopping around this this? I doubt it, he was very concerned about you before to even growl at me even though he obviously likes me. As for Kore, all I know is her name and that she represents spring. You, I know more about you and we have spent time together. Where as with Kore I have not, nor do I really care to to be honest. You're the one who saved me originally, and even though it was because you used your powers, you did save me again earlier. Even though some might not call it friendship, we do have a bond that links us. And I'm not just going to let you cut it when you obviously need someone to talk to or cry on their shoulder. I know what its like to be alone, remember? Even my own parents are disgusted with me and want nothing to do with me. And I know you're not acting this way for the same reasons as them, I know you're upset and lashing out because of it."
|
Yuki looked at Yemon with her head cocked to the side as she listened to him talk. Evverything he said had to have been a lie since he obviously liked warm weather. All she could provide was snow and he couldnt handle it without a coat. "I don't understand why you think that way. All i did was keep you from getting hurt. Even you said that so no, I didn't save your life. Why do you want to be my friend anyway. All i do is make you cold. We can't stay together." She said lowering her head. Looking at Kiba her mind began thinking about the past. "I love you Kiba." she nuzzled her head close to his then looked at Yemon. "You could be with Kore without freezing, so just be with her." She said continuing to push him away.
|
Sighing he shakes his head, "Yeah, but you could have just left em there like that and let me die, but you didn't. And just because I need to wear a coat when with you doesn't mean I don't like being with you. What I don't like is you mopping around thinking that I don't care. As for why I want to be you're friend, I've said it before, you didn't judge me to be something beneath you. You treat me like someone who, even though weaker than you, is your equal which very few people do. And so what if I can be warm with Kore? I don't know her, like I said before, I know you. I might not know everything about you, but I care more about you than anyone else besides Kiba. I care about the two of you the same and I'm also kind of mad at Kore for not at least saying something before doing what she did." Walking over to her he goes to take her hand, "Now come on, stop trying to push me away, I'm as stubborn as a rock when it comes to these things." He smiles, knowing that she'll get what he means by that.
|
Reluctantly taking his hand, Yuki finally caved in though she really didn't know why. Maybe it was because of how lonely she was now without Kiba, and even with Kiba, she was always lonely. There's only so much a pet could do to help. Or maybe she should have appreciated Kiba more? Not that she hadn't already, she had always treasured their friendship. "We can be friends again if you help me take Kiba's soul out of my body by awakening Kore. This time, I will have a different animal within me, otherwise, I much rather melt. I...I don't want to be without Kiba." She told Yemon. She was serious about it too with how she looked. "Do you know how to catch a wolf? I don't want to catch something to where he will think I'm prey. I don't want him to feel confused about what he should do since he will know who I am but he will also smell that prey within me so I much rather avoid that." She stated. "And you still have to teach me how to read and write, you promised." She told him.
|
"Well, we can try to wake her and see if she can do something. Though since bears are hibernating, wouldn't it be easier to get a bear than a wolf? Bears usually only travel in pairs at most while wolves tend to travel in packs." He leads her instead to where Kore is, shaking Kore's shoulder to try and wake her. "And don't worry, I'm not going to break our promise. Even if I have to wait until next winter I'll still teach you how to read and write." Yemon had thought that having her wrapped in two blankets and near the fire would be enough, though it looks like that might not be the case. Letting go of Yuki's hand he looks in the cabinets, finding some thermoses that were kept around as extras. Grabbing a big stock pot he takes it outside, fills it with fresh snow, then begins melting it on the stove with the fire turned all the way up.
"Maybe potting some hot bottles in the blanket with her will help, humans will do that sometimes to when people are sick." |
Yuki watched Yemon try to heat up Kore with no luck. She just watches, being useless since she still had the mentality that heat could affect her still. She could still feel the effects since she was used to such cold weather and this abnormal heat was making her extremely hot but she was sweating like how she normally does when she's this hot, that she knew of.
"Well, I don't relish the thought of being a bear to be honest. At least if I was a wolf, I could play with Kiba. He might be afraid of me if I was a bear. Even if I still look like myself, I don't want him to ever think of me any different." She explained as she petted her ears to show affection to Kiba since she wasn't sure if he could feel it or not. She could and it made her ear tingle. When Kore still wouldn't move, she was getting worried. "Um, Yemon, what if she never wakes up?" She questioned. |
After sticking the water bottles in with Kore and not seeing any results he gets a bit annoyed. Walking quickly back to the other room to grab more blankets he hollers back to her, "I'm going to keep trying until I've run out of ideas, but if nothing works I might have to set her on the oven door and turn it on. I'd rather not because in such I storm I'd have to light the stove since the cold probably would have partially frozen the pipeline. So I might have to go outside and do that. Otherwise we'd probably just have to wait until Spring for her to wake up since she seems to be a spirit of Spring." He wraps Kore up some more and moves her closer to the fire, but just out of danger of catching on fire. Then a thought occurs to him.
"Hey, do you think there's a spirit for this mountain? Where I'm from my village worshiped a mountain spirit, and I was thinking that maybe they might have been the one that warned you away from humans. But if so that would have had to of been a long time ago since you don't seem to remember much of anything because the mountain covered in snow and Kiba." |
Yuki watched at Yemon had a hard time waking up Kore. She really wished that her sister would open her eyes, even just a little so that she could get Kiba back into his body and she would settle to just melt away forever. She still didn't believe she would come back, she never remembered melting before, everything in her mind just seemed to be rolling together, there were no times that she could think of where there had been a huge gap in her memory. "What if Kore won't wake up, what would we do then? I don't want to live without my Kiba.
Yuki shrugged. "I don't really know. I don't remember seeing anyone or anything besides humans. I don't know how we would even find out if there is a spirit of the mountain. But that doesn't mean there isn't one. Maybe we can go search for the spirit and hopefully be able to get everything switched back and maybe I can ask to live." |
"Hmm...Well, if you can get the blizzard to settle down we can take the snowmobile. I'll have to take some warm bottles as well just because it might be a while. But with all this new snow it will actually be easier for us to travel. Let me get ready then, it should only take a few minutes." Rushing around he gets everything he'll need together, including some water to drink if he needs it, slightly warmed and kept in the thermos. When he's ready he nods his mask covered face to let Yuki know, then heads out to the snowmobile. He starts it up and pats the seat behind himself to let Yuki know to get behind him.
"Just hold on to me, I'm going to go as quickly as I can. If its anything like the mountain where I grew up there will be a shrine near the top of the mountain in a cave." |
Yuki did as instructed and made the blizzard settle down for Yemon and her to take the snowmobile to help find the mountain spirit. She doesn't remember seeing any shrine but maybe she just never really looked and that's why. She got behind Yemon and wrapped her arms around him and rested her head on his shoulder as she thought about everything.
"What if there's no mountain guardian spirit?" She questioned. "What if what Kore did caused winter to stay? What if I have to melt in order for Kore to wake up? But with Kiba inside of me, I won't melt." Maybe it was bad that she didn't melt. Maybe she shouldn't have caused such a ruckus and just let herself die. "I will miss you when I melt. I don't want to die but I guess you want spring to come don't you? When I'm gone, promise to take care of Kiba ok? I don't want him lonely." |
Yemon can't help but sigh, "How many times do I have to tell you? I do not prefer Spring over Winter and I don't want you to melt. We'll find out when we get closer to the top whether there is a mountain spirit or not." He travels on for a while, almost reaching mountain climbing level before they stop, "We have to look around for some caves. You'll be able to tell if its a shrine of some kind because there will be some kind of human influence like drawings and stuff." Going long the mountain to explores several locations, seeing signs of people having been there but mostly trash left from people. Getting tired he finds an untouched cave, panting slightly from going for so long looking for a shrine.
"Let's rest here a moment, I haven't had anything to eat or drink for a while. If I don't eat or drink anything soon I'll collapse." Plopping down on the cave floor he leans against the wall and looks through the stuff he brought to get out some food and water. |
Yuki sat down beside Yemon. "So...do you like Winter? I don't know much about the other seasons, but everyone that I ever see is always smiling, having fun doing their activities. I wish I had someone to do those things with. But, as you can see, it's not meant to be. It's not meant for me to stay here for much longer. And I know you will forget me even if you don't want to. You know why? All humans forget. I would hear mothers tell their child that they will come again later but, later never comes. They forget. So, even if I do come back next winter, you will forget about me like all those mothers." She said. But she didn't make it seem like she was complaining about it like before. But her loneliness seemed to show more when she talked. "Kiba was my only friend this whole time. If you knew him like I did, you would have loved him too. He always cared for me! If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't mind melting permanently. There's not point to me existing." She stretched and yawned.
|
He raises a brow at her, even when she wasn't complaining she still was pretty depressed about the whole thing.
"If I could forget things like that so easily I would have forgotten all the torment I went through as a child for standing up for my beliefs. So you needn't worry about that. And from What I've seen of Kiba I am already very fond of him. So don't worry, we'll figure something out." He gives her a small reassuring smile, then suddenly the ground begins shaking. "We need to get out of here or else we might get trapped!" Yemon indicates that Yuki should go first, wanting to make sure nothing happened to her since he doesn't know if it would affect Kiba. As he's running the ground opens up beneath him, swallowing him up and seeming to close, only a small fracture in the ground left. Fading in and out of conciousness, Yemon stirs, sensing that he's fallen a long way. He can feel the blood pooling on the ground around him, the fall having caused his head to split open. Then he feels a cool hand on his face, but not cold like Yuki's hand. "You would have eventually gotten here, though if Yuki hadn't of interfered it might have been sooner rather than later." Says a an older man in a crackly voice. "Mother Earth has chosen you to replace me, she's giving me my time to rest now, so I'm passing my role as the mountain to you." The man places a hand on Yemon's chest, then a burning sensation consumes him, causing him to scream out in pain before blacking out. Stirring again, Yemon tries to look around, but the pain in his chest is very distracting. Using a hand to grab his chest he feels something like a rock of some kind where his heart is. Sighing, he lets go, trying to roll over to get on his knees to stand, but lets out a scream of pain from how much pain his body is in. |
Yuki went a head of Yemon and began running, she would look back occasionally to make sure that Yemon was still behind her, she was more worried about him than her since she wasn't afraid of the cave caving in on her. She was more worried about Yemon. She heard a weird noise, like the ground breaking off and as she looked back, she saw the tail end of Yemon falling into the hole. Kiba took over and growled as he went over to paw at the ground, hoping to dig him out but it wasn't working. He whimpered. When Yuki got back in control, she was ecstatic to know that Kiba was truly within her but her friend was most likely dead. She petted her ears thinking that Kiba would be able to feel it and know she was doing that for him. Sighing, she wasn't sure whether she should leave or stay. If he was still alive she wanted to be there for him but if he was dead, what would be the point in staying? Deciding to stay, she didn't want to leave the stop. She had a small ounce of hope that he was still alive and that maybe he would come back to her.

Finally, after what seems like an eternity, the pain finally subsides enough for Yemon to stand up and try to find his way around. In front of him is a shrine made out of stone and wood, paintings all along the walls of the mountain in the different seasons. Sighing he shakes his head, "Of course I find it when I'm nearly dead..." His eyes go wide as he places his hand where he had been bleeding before then looks at it. Nothing. No blood, no injury what so ever. Turning back he sees what seems to be dried blood on the ground where he had been laying, trying to recall what happened and how he's completely healed when she realizes something else. He can see, in a cave that probably should be pitch black since there doesn't seem to be any light source there. Swearing under his breath he begins to try and find an exit, feeling a jolt of pain from his chest. Looking down there looks to be some kind of crystal embedded in his chest, but the skin around it doesn't look inflamed like it would for an injury, which confuses him even more. Deciding it would probably be best to try and find Yuki instead of worrying, Yemon looks for an exit, soon finding a light that leads to someplace near the bottom of the mountain.
Looking around to figure out where he is, he notices something else, his skin doesn't feel cold on his face like it should. Actually paying attention to himself now, his skin looks textured, like stone of some kind, but still wearing his winter gear. He was neither hot, nor cold, just not affected by the weather at all. Starting to feel a head ache coming on he decides to ignore it and begin heading towards the top of the mountain here he had left Yuki. In what seems like a really short amount of time he finds himself outside a cave that's recently had people going to it. Going to the entrance he looks around and spots Yuki. "There you are, I honestly have no idea what has happened to me, but I have a rock stuck in my chest and I'm afraid to pull it out since its where my heart is. There was some weird old guy I remember hearing, and then after that I passed out from an excruciating amount of pain. So I have no idea what's going on." |
Hearing some someone walking and smelling a familiar scent, she twitched her ears and looked up to see Yemon walking towards her. Her eyes lit up slightly as she stood. Her tail wagged. She could feel that Kiba was happy. "Y-you're ok. You're safe. Kiba, he was worried about you. I can feel him, he's deep within me but...I can feel him." She told him. She awkwardly wrapped her arms around him like she saw other people do and then released him as he told her about some old man and about the rock embedded in his chest. "What?" She ran her hand over his chest. "I-I don't understand. Your heat, its gone...you're different Yemon. Come on, lets go try and wake up Kore to see what's wrong with you." She ushered him along. She wanted Kore to wake up to tell her what was happening to Yemon, she didn't like how he had changed and that old guy, there was something going on that she had no clue about. It worried her greatly.
|
He's a bit surprised when Yuki hugs him, wondering if she really knew what it was she was doing since she is pretty clueless about human things. When she says his heart is gone and that he's different his head begins to hurt, holding his hand to the side of his head.
"You're right, we should head back. We can try to wake her again..." As he's starting to walk back down the mountain he collapses, falling unconscious again. He begins dreaming of weird things, the mountain forming over thousands of years, the season changing. Even seeing Yuki during some of the previous Winters and how she returns to mother nature to slumber until the next snow. |
Yuki was shocked to see Yemon just collapse. She lifted him up with the snow and then moved him along with her to the cabin. She felt helpless as she wasn't sure on what she should do for him. Once there, she got him inside and went to grab a blanket for him. If Yuki had known to place him in the bed, she would have but she didn't know what it was used for. "I wish that I could help you, I really do." She rubbed his head and just sat by his side.
Going over to Kore, she began to shake her to wake up her sister but that did little good. "Come on, right now isn't the time to be sleeping! You need to wake up!" She grumbled. Lowering her head, she sat beside Yemon with a snowflake falling out of her eye and landing onto Yemon's face then turned into water. "I hope you're not dying because of me. Maybe it would have been best to not have saved you." She sighed. |
He's unconscious for a little more than an hour before he stirs again, groaning as he holds his head and tries to sit up. Looking around he's confused, "When did we get here? I thought we were still on the mountain." Trying to stand he notices that he's laying on the floor, making another note to teach Yuki about beds. "Did you try waking Kore up? Or is she still unable to wake?"
As he stands he lets the blanket fall, not really having noticed it there because the temperature difference didn't seem to phase him. Walking over to Kore he starts getting annoyed. Putting his hand on her to wake her a surge of heat emits a short distance from him, which startles him and then lingers for a short bit as heat around Kore. Yemon looks from his hand to Kore, then back, baffled by what's happened. |
"You fell asleep and I brought you back here where Kore was. I didn't want you getting cold." Yuki explained. She watched him curiously, she knew that there was something different about him but she couldn't quite place it. As she saw him touch Kore, even she noticed that something had happened. Only then did Kore began to wake up.
"What did you do? H-how did you wake her?" Yuki questioned in disbelief as Kore slowly opened her eyes and yawned. "Oh, it's spring finally!" She yawned and stretched. She looked at Yemon. "Oh, I remember you. Y-you're from...T-that time. Yeah, hello!" She smiled. She looked very tired indicating that it was still too early for her to be awake. "I never felt so tired whenever I wake up." Then noticing Yuki, she looked at her sister curiously. "You shouldn't be here. You should be melted." She said yawning. "Oh...wait, is it still winter? D-did you wake me up early again?" She asked. Noticing the ears and tail on her sister, she walked closer to touch them. Yuki lowered them. "Oh, so they are real. Why do you have ears like that and a tail?" Her memory wasn't too good. |
Yemon face palms, having hoped that she would remember, "You took Kiba's, a wolf that was with us, soul and stuck it in Yuki because Yuki didn't want to melt. But now its been snowing like crazy and Yuki wants you to take Kiba's soul back out of her and put it back in his body because she misses him and had basically thought of him as being dead." He collapses to the floor again, but this time stays conscious. "And this crazy guy muttered something about my fate and shoved a rock in my chest! We had gone looking for the mountain spirit to see if he could help with restoring Kiba or waking you up enough to fix this. And I've been having issues staying awake or standing since then. With the occasional headache."
