So. The recent DI's are half of what they normally used to have? XD
/dies a little inside

Espy 04-05-2014 07:26 PM

Not really. We cut back a bit on the poses, but now Gall has the tougher job of making four (usually?) recolors instead of the previous three.

Vincent 04-05-2014 07:28 PM

Well. Recolors aree nice.
But. hm. Dx
I don't know. XD
But dude there are even some commons that have like 2 or 3 pages of colors/poses o.0
/like those oil tune up and bomber jackets
It's just like 'whoa' sometimes. XD

Espy 04-05-2014 09:03 PM

That's just because /aaaaallllllllllllll/ the colors are in there; no biggie.

Vincent 04-05-2014 10:15 PM

Kinda weird how they seperate some item's colors and not others o-o'
I guess it's so some items can be more expensive idk. XD

Espy 04-05-2014 10:17 PM

I think a lot of the ones that have all the colors in one item have two different base colors, if that makes sense. There's like, green+all colors and blue+all colors.

Vincent 04-05-2014 10:24 PM

Not...really getting it. xD
I was thinking maybe it was also because they put both female and male positions in that one item?

Espy 04-05-2014 10:39 PM

No, F and M are always in the same item.

For example, if you look up "Tune Up Boots" in Eclectic, you'll find three versions: Clean, Leather, and Oil, which have base colors of white, nbrown, and black, respectively. Each of those have the full range of colors as secondaries.

Vincent 04-05-2014 10:40 PM

Ohh. o-o So. Ones that don't have male/female poses are either.. only that gender or just unisex, like hats? XD

Espy 04-05-2014 10:45 PM

I....uh...yeah? I think so, if I'm understanding you correctly. (Not your fault if I'm not; I'm just really tired.)

Items that have more than one color in them, such as your current coat (main color + the silver button buckle things) are all recolored by hand, while we have a tool to handle items with only one color in them (such as most hairs). Most two-colored items, while they do have many more color options in the one color, only have 1/3rd to 1/2 of all the colors single-colored commons are available in.

So, it's two different ways to go about buying items, really. Get the most bang for your buck, or get perfect color matching. That's the user side of it, at least. The staff side is that not all two-colored items will look good in every shade of every color, so by lumping it all together and doing fewer color options, it lets us avoid the combinations that just don't work, and lessen our load so we can get more items — and more alt versions of items (like the Clean, Leather, and Oil Tune Up sets) — out in the shops.

Most items that only have a couple options are older and likely didn't use the same system.

And yeah, we have a few (very few) items that are gender limited, but for a long while now we have done our best to make sure items are either unisex (like hats and hairs) or can be worn by either gender.

Ah. x3 Alright.
Well then go get some sleep and get all rested? x3 haha.

@ Gallagher ;
Ah. Well yeah I can see how that would lessen your workload. XD
That's kinda cool how everything is unisex though. x3 Thanks for the explaination~
