((do you think there are others like Sid and Abaddon?))
The Demon felt the elf move but was in too much pain to do anything about it. He simply groaned and turned to his other side and attempted to sleep the pain away. Demons ordinarily don’t need sleep but it helps when they’re trying to regain magic. And Abaddon most definitely used up a lot of Magic yesterday. Especially summoning the Spirit of Forests. He hopes he never has to do that again. But something told with this elf he might be doing it often. Which reminded him, what in the oblivion is up with this kid’s bloodline? The forest spirits shouldn’t have been able to possess him like that. As Abaddon began to wonder he then thought about what Thauron had said to him earlier. Keeping Sid alive was an importance of Politics eh? The Demon reasoned he’d have to speak with the elf on the matter. Just not right now, everything hurt him so bad. “…Curse that damn long eared leprechaun….” The Demon murmured as he attempted to drift off once again. |
[[Personally I would prefer the situation remain unique. But there will undoubtedly bindings between demons and mortals since they like summoning them so often. so what I mean is selfishly I still want the others to somehow be different? ugh I don't know >_<]]
All of yesterday Sid was really nothing more than a deadweight for Abbadon and he felt guilty for that. He needed to get stronger somehow. Well for now he had to think about the good he could do for his new pet demon. They were still within the forests though it was rockier than the previous areas he'd been in. The waterfall was good, there'd be water somewhere he could use to focus. And it wasn't long til he found a decently sized puddle. 'What should I look at fist?' Despite his expertise in divination he wasn't clear on the finer points of how detectable it made him beyond scrying the school and its staff being a terrible idea. His stomach gave him his answer. Food was important; he didn't know if demons needed to eat but Abbadon did seem a little grumpier. Sid touched the middle of the puddle lightly, creating a delicate ripple. He hadn't bothered to actually gaze at his reflection yet and see what he looked like but his healed eye made all the difference. The vision was more vivid and quick than he was used to. He saw the trap he would make to catch a rabbit. Not a big feast yet...he smelled something delicious not far away. The sun's position told him it was nearly noon. If was going to take that long he would need to get started. So he stepped back behind the waterfall and started pulling some of the ties loose from his sleeve. |
((Well maybe there could be different types of bindings. Like physical ones, mental ones, and ones that bind the souls. Also once Sid tries the summoning he'll ask the question))
The Demon could hear the elf moving about. Oh what was he doing now? He heard the sounds of the mortal’s stomach growling. Oh yeah, mortals needed food to eat. The Demon sighed; he slowly rose up from the hard stone ground. He groaned cradling his head in his right hand. He slowly turned and wobbled over to the elf and looked at him most unpleasantly. He paused for a moment; out of nowhere a writing utensil appeared in his hand. It seemed to be fueled with light. The Demon began writing runes in the air with the light writing utensil. He then stood back and looked at Sid. “This is a focus of summoning, this will give you the food you need. I can’t use magic right now, so what you need to do is create this focus as you did with the water. Imagine these runes in your mind, your brain should be able to read the runes with your magical reserves and you should be able to summon food.” The Demon then walked over to a nearby wall and leaned against it Waiting for the elf to practice the summoning. |
If Abbadon didn't seem so serious he would give him a dubious look. Honestly he still didn't believe him, maybe Abbadon was pulling his leg for putting him through so much trouble. "I have never heard of summoning food before..."
Sid stared the runes down a second, biting his lip, as he etched their shapes into his mind. Then he tried to focus on a single kind of food. Not particularly easy as hungry as he was so he focused more on how he wanted that rabbit he saw prepared. Slowly cooked over a spit with lemon and basil and served with various greens. when out it popped easier than a woman birthing a baby. But without a bowl to hold it all. Sid quickly reacted with his elvish reflexes but couldn't catch every green. At least he had the meat. |
“Funny, last time I checked you didn’t specialize in summoning magic so what would you know? Summoners make magic to make life easier. Why hunt when you can summon food?”
He watched as the elf summoned a hunk of rabbit meat. The Demon frowned, as he was quite disappointed. He expected like a five course meal. Something nobles eat on a daily basis. Perhaps he isn’t as talented as he thought. Or maybe he was too simple, at this point it was hard to tell. “Hey Sid, what’s your bloodline like? Anyone famous in the old family tree?" |
Sid looked up from his food. "Wha?" But that was all he could get out before the demon continued. Not that he could say much more with food in his mouth. Still the questions came flying out of Abbadon's mouth before he could really process what he was being asked. What Sid could hear however was how it sounded very much like an interrogation.
He had an urge to scratch his head "huh why are you so interested in my family anyway?" The demon's eyes were baring into him, Sid flinched. So he did what his stomach wanted him to, he eat bits of rabbit and sat against the wall. "My family did some notable things but they did horrible things too. I'm too young to really know more than what adults are willing to tell me. My father fought in the most recent war with the human kingdom known as Artea. He wasn't the same when he came back." Sid felt rather sad about that, "But my mother-" He remembered something about their relationship. "Why are you asking these suddenly? Tell me." He commanded. |
Nothing too defining, his father wasn’t the same? Was that good thing or a bad thing? Maybe there was more to his bloodline than he actually knows. Abaddon was in deep thought, he always wanted to go into elven territory and steal something from there. He hadn’t seen the place since he gave that elf control of the land. It was rather dinky when he last saw it. Abaddon wondered, how much has it flourished? How much was changed? Now that destroying things actually were of consequence since being binded to Sid, he wondered what else had changed.
Abaddon looked up when Sid ordered him to tell him why he was asking these questions. “Well it was something that the fool Thauron said. You missed a lot while you were unconscious. He said keeping you alive was a political priority. Then when I set the forest ablaze the spirits of the forest possessed you. Not any creature or take a form that could converse. They came to you; something inside you resonates with them. And I bet it has something to do with that Thauron said. And if that’s the case we have to have a good hard look into your family bloodline. There’s something nasty a foot.” The Demon looked to Sid. He knew the other would believe him. He demanded that he tell him, he can’t lie to the creature. And even if he could he could see the memory where it took place. Sid was of much importance than he was lead to believe. “Hmm I wonder if you’re related to the Lord Aolis…” The Demon mused. “This might be worse than I thought if you’re a descendant to him….” |
While still just a child he was an observant one. "You're trying to figure out the binding so you can undo it aren't you?" Sid wasn't entirely sure he wanted that. He had seen the kinds of things Abbadon would do, though he didn't remember a portion of it or knew he could access the demon's memory at will. But what else was there to do? Wandering around and hiding wasn't much of a life style they needed a purpose. Simply commanding the demon to behave and do what he wanted for the rest of his life sounded tiresome. Sid felt old just thinking about it.
"There's more to my family history that I do know but I've never heard of a Lord Aolis before. Politics are complicated but it might be as simple as the fact Artea had a demon on their lands and apparently brought there by an elf sent to forge peace with the humans there." Elves lived long lives and tended to remember much. Sid knew they would have to break into the archives of his own home to learn more. But he didn't voice it, he didn't even want to think it. Abbadon burned everything and laughed about it. He didn't want that happening to his home. "I also have an older sister, she will know more. My protection spells are from my mother. Gilrin has it too, she was married to some nobleman whose father makes airships for the Artean fleet. She's probably at the capital." Sid stood up looking very eager to continue on with their journey. |
“Heh, does it matter? I still destroy things whether you’re bonded to me or not. It would be nice to not have to worry about my existence because of you.”
The Demon sighed and slinked down to sit on the ground. “Hmm demon and peace? I’ve heard of anything like that. Well that’s a lie actually, some demons actually chose sides in the man/elven war. Some chose the humans, some chose the elves, some didn’t care like me, and other who are strange even for us demons advocated for peace…. makes me wonder who that demon was maybe it was Azazle? She would be the one to do that type of thing…” Then the elf spoke of his family, family, why was that word so familiar. Oh yes Abaddon had a family once. He remembered a beautiful woman and a darling little girl. Sadness encompassed The Demon’s face, so did he really forget them? He couldn’t even make out their faces anymore. He looked down when thinking of this. His ear perked, he hadn’t heard of Aolis? That was quite strange. “You would think the elves would remember who started the war with the humans….” |
"Hey how'd you know I was thinking that?" Sid said defensively. One's mind was supposed to be a safe place to retreat to. It unsettled him for someone to be privy to his thoughts.
'I wish more demons were like Azazle then.' he thought. It clicked, "Unless they wanted to forget." he finished. |
"If only you knew her before she 'found the light'...oh boy"
The Demon chuckled as the other was worried about his privacy of his mind. He rolled his eyes. "I am not reading your mind, you're shouting your thoughts into my mind, fool." Abaddon scoffed. "Yeah well that's ridiculous. If I were a race of arcane being I would never forget the one who ruined my relations with other races. Aolis shouldn't be forgetten, he should be remembered so that you do not repeat the same mistakes. Not that I care but a little life lesson to you master. Never forget." Abaddon said that in a most serious tone. When it came to memories, they were all he had left of his past. Even then with each passing day he was losing himself. Soon he won't remember being human, he'll only remember being Abaddon. |
[[Sorry for the long wait time. Do you know what I've been doing? Playing an MMO that I'm readdicted to. I can post while I play but because I am a team player it's hard to type a coherent response and talk with people in-game. But guilt finally brought be back! =D ]] 'Oh...thanks for that.' he thought back, genuinely surprised by the short lessong. 'I'll need training to keep my thoughts to myself. Summoning food is awesome too!' Sid tried not to think that last thought but thinking not to think it didn't work out. Sid didn't want to hear if the demon had anything clever to say. "Abbadon since living with humans I realized that elves like to pretend they're perfect. This Aolis my be completely forgotten. Where would we go to learn more?" |
((Yeah that's fine. Don't worry about it c: ))
Abaddon was going to say something snarky about Sid loving the summoning spell when he was skeptic about it, but then he was asked how one would go about obtaining information that may have been “forgotten”. Abaddon thought about it for a moment. He was certain there was obtainable information on himself and other demons. Probably out of reach where no one could misuse it. Then he compared this to information about tyrants like Aolis. Maybe the elves were ashamed of him so the would consider his information dangerous if it got into human hands. If the humans found out that it was an elf that started all of this, there would hell to pay. Maybe with another war as well. So to prevent that, where would the elves hide it? “Well there could be a number of ways to hide it. If I never wanted anyone to see this figure in historic time, I would completely obliterate his records. Then I can claim that such a person did not existed. But let’s say that the elves did so that because not for nothing kid, your people can be stupid sometimes and want to keep the info to teach the next in line of the throne yes?” The Demon got up, he was feeling much better and was able to hold himself up now. “Okay so with that in mind, there are many ways they can hide this without destroying information. So let’s say the elves have a master library for scholars. I would put it in there. I would put it under “forbidden” so that only those authorized to use it may look at it.” He paused for a moment. “Or keep it in the castle if you guys have one. Or wherever your ruler resides in. It has maximum security so I wouldn’t doubt that it was in there as well.” “One last place they can have it stored is in a hidden location with in territory but not within city-states. That way people looking for it would look at the library or the castle and would be none the wiser. If that’s the case, depending on how valuable this information is, the security would be impeccable, more so then the royal guards. So it might be impossible to get in…unless you happen to be bound to a demon with shadow travel magic.” The Demon cackled he then walked over to Sid. Using the food-summoning spell he summoned an apple, a bright juicy red one. He took a bite into it before speaking up again. “Well those are the choices. I don’t know elves all that well so it is up to you to make the choice. Which one of those sounds like something your people would do?” |
[[Feel free to fast-forwarding some, if you want to go with the idea of finding others like themselves I say let's go for it!]] The little elf closed his eyes and out of habit was biting his lip again. His stomach was filled with food but all the emotions were stemming his focus. 'Is this treason?' Various images of the future he thought he could have went up in flame and ash. Sid opened his eyes to look at the demon, they shared something now. He didn't understand what it was yet but he stared at Abbadon and his damn apple hoping to truly show him everything he was feeling. All the pain he had associated to fire, the images of his mother burning alive and those mad red eyes belonging to someone he thought he knew. The pain of losing everything he knew and nearly being killed for something he didn't do. He realized he wasn't breathing and suddenly inhaled. As he did so he felt a distant memory in Abbadon. The memory was washed with sadness, and he thought he could hear a faint child's voice. Sid paused for awhile. He pursed his lips together. "T-the twin cities." Sid's voice cracked, his eyes looking everywhere but at Abbadon. "They're built in and around natural caverns found near an oasis plateau out in the Iso Desert. It is said to be older than the settlement around the Great Tree." |
((Yeyeye as soon as Abaddon knows how guarded the joint is. Also with others like them I want them to be demons that know abaddon. Maybe they liked him, maybe one hated him, one is scared of him, and one is really strong and is a douche about it idk something like that))
‘Pfft, of course it’s treason you ninny. Anything you break into that it run by your government is treason.’ For some reason Sid was staring at Abaddon really hard. And of course Sid, without a warning just dumps all these memories into The Demon’s mind. All he saw was fire, screaming people…. red eyes? The Demon wondered, only pureblooded demons could have red eyes, unless you were like him and you replaced a pureblood. Then you get yellow eyes, he wasn’t sure what was the purpose of the red eyes versus yellow eyes. He was pretty much just as strong a pureblood. Then again no one is as consumed with rage as he is. Or maybe he happened to luck on the demon that was strong enough to set him one an equal level. But then the question remains how was he able to beat the accursed demon? Oh well, no reason to dwell on it now. “Hmm, I don’t remember a tree out in the desert…assuming it’s the same desert I know…maybe it was a sprout but if there would be any information that is as old as the war…it’ll be in there. How well fortified is it?” |
[[The Great Tree isn't in the desert it's a separate location and well known by humans as sacred.
His eyes finally settled down around his feet, Sid was focusing on this breathing so he would calm down. He didn't want to talk anymore, in fact in wanted to go to sleep and pretend none of this was real. "Other than being a maze and home to wizards no one ever mentions that place, and the books in the human libraries don't seem to even know of it. The only reason I know about it is because I was supposed to replace my mother as a Keeper..." |
((Oh I could've sworn thats what you wrote :/))
“ A keeper huh? I don’t understand what that means but it might have the answers you seek. I think we should have a plan ready because if we leave this up to mean I might burn something down to the ground…” As he bit into his apple some more he thought about an actual idea. He wasn’t in the mood to repeat the events taking place earlier. “I think I’ll summon a small dragon to cause a distraction and we sneak in.” The Demon noted how the other wouldn’t look at him. Oh well, spending time with him would do that to anyone. Probably it has something to do with humanity, something The Demon lost a long time ago. “Hey kid, is that why you were learning magic? So you can then get trapped into watching a bunch of dusty old tomes?” |
[[Yeah reading back I see how I failed to separate the two locations, probably better I hadn't even mentioned it]] 'At least he's trying not burn things to the ground.' he thought to himself. He would hate to have the destruction of an oasis and an ancient library on his conscious. "Hey it's more than dusty old tomes! Some people really like learning. And besides that they won't have me a keeper anymore. Keepers do more than guard knowledge, they protect the land itself." Sid was pretty sure Abbadon was only asking his opinion though to keep him more cooperative. The old creature might've already had a brilliant plan. The one about the dragon was not so brilliant though, Sid hoped he wasn't serious. "The cities are almost completely cut off from the world. Even if they know about us they are not used to fighting real threats." Stick to the shadows. "I know the general location of Yamir, how do you plan to get there? And once we are there it would be better to learn more, set up an escape that doesn't burn down their library in the process." |
((It's okay Ive already replied to it so it doesn't matter))
“Hmph, I remember when tomes were just manuscripts…what a pain. So they don’t want you as a keeper huh? Why’s that? Did you fail an exam or something?” The Demon was actually curious; the elf did not seem threatening so watching books seemed to be the best bet. However The Demon could sense untapped potential within the elf that was horrifyingly powerful. If he was as good at learning as his potential was, he could have the power to become Archmage. Was that even a thing still? He may even have the power to face off against him. Now that was scary, he pays attention to the elf again when he mentions how the city was cut off. Interesting, they could storm in and steal the books and not have to worry about being alerted. But as cut off as it seemed maybe the Mages there were quite powerful. Not powerful enough to remove Abaddon from the plane but enough to give him a struggle. Especially when the young elf here seemed to be bad at magic. For crying out loud he summoned The Demon to this plane while he tried to cast a simple fireball spell! “Sid how good are you with magic?” The Demon asked with question eyes, thinking of a plan to sneak in and get out. He was trying to make this as low key as possible so that he could reduce the risk of running into Mages while they were there. Perhaps they could disguise themselves as Mages there. Maybe incapacitate two mages and take their place. That way they could freely roam the library and search for the information needed. Yes, that sounded much better than the dragon one, it probably would’ve burned everything to the ground. |
Sid uncharacteristically rolled his eyes at Abbadon with an exasperated sigh, "Who wants a demon summoner to guard a forest? You kind of burned the last one remember?" The elf was of course leaving out bits related to the memory he shared with Abbadon not long ago.
"How good? That depends on the kind of magic really. We were still learning the basics but I was ahead of the humans in class in everything but destructive magic." Sid didn't bother to mention that he was also afraid of fire. Keepers weren't supposed to be afraid, they were a pillar of strength in the community. It shouldn't have been part of his identity still but he couldn't help it. But he didn't want Abbadon thinking him literally useless. "I'm just not as good with attack spells as protective spells. In dueling class though I found creative ways to fight back with telekinesis and turning my shields into funnels to redirect a magic bolt back." Sid was proud of that but a dueling class with other novices was not on par with fighting fully trained mages. His way of fighting back was also called "cheating" by nearly everyone. "Are you going to train me as we travel to the twin cities?" |
“Okay so you’re good with protection spells. Interesting, might come in handy if we run into mages at the cities…”
The Demon finished the rest of his apple and tossed the core aside. “I might have to, you’ll end up as dead weight at this rate. We might have to work on your destruction skill. They’re quite a necessity while we are out and about, maybe some teleportation and summoning. You seem to be good at summon since you were able to summon the food without a problem.” The Demon clutched his fists and tested his magic capability. They seem to be at maximum capacity, good. “Good, we can make our way to the cities now. Do you have any idea what it looks like? Any image of it will work. If not we’ll have to get there by foot.” |
Somewhere not far away Thauron had to resist the urge to punch a tree. He should've found a way to keep the demon from sending him away but it was too late for that. It would surely be ready for his spells now. He stopped in a clearing filled with ash and nodded. This was the place.
Thauron knelt and by chance drew the same summoning rune that Abbadon had drawn in that very same spot. The older elf could feel the spirits reacting before he even began. It was curious that summoning ritual was perhaps merely ceremonial at this point but he couldn't turn back now. When he finished a spirit of earth emerge from the summoning circle. "O earth sprit I summon you seeking another elf. He was here last night-." the spirit wasted no time with formalities at that point. It entered his mind and showed him bits of what transpired that night but the pieces didn't make sense to Thauron. But he saw the path now leading to where his charge was hiding with the demon. When Thauron was alone in his mind he could feel the spirit urging him on to deal with the demon. The memory of Sid's immense power also spurred him forward. Now the demon would surely hunger for his charge's power. He had to hurry before the vile creature sped along what ever plot it was planning to have Sid's soul. Thauron didn't want to kill Sid truth be told but he would just as he killed his best friend. The old crone was right; demons are returning to the world and so would war worse than any seen before. +-----------------------------+ Sid felt hot thinking about all the things he had to learn. It was exciting but nerve-wracking. Master Dillamond was a horribly tough teacher surely a demon's training would be harder still. Maybe Abbadon would throw a rock at Sid who would have to blow it aside with a powerful wind or get struck. Over, and over again. The prospect of teleporting though excited Sid. "Well my mom told me about it so I have an idea of what it looks like. But I never even seen a picture. Can you really teleport us to a place I only know of in my imagination?" At that moment Thauron was at the wall of the waterfall. The waves didn't stop him from picking up on the conversation when he was listening for their voices. What was driving Sid to do what he was doing? Did he really form a contract with the demon or was he just a pawn? Despite having the upper-hand while the demon was unaware of his presence yet he hesitated, unsure of what he should do. |
“Tch, of course I can. Each place is unique is it’s own way. When certain memories are linked to the place I can find them. Now then we must hurry, we want to get a move on.”
The Demon already knew Thauron was there. He was waiting to see what the other would do. He then turned to Sid. He leaned in and began to whisper. “Looks like someone is outside. Let’s gets some training in. With shields and block magic, you should learn some tracking magic as well. It’ll allow you to track people and objects by magic signature. Each signature is different for each person. But if a person implants their magic into an object the signature will be the same. Now simple tracking is easy just let your magic run over everything around you. Anything without a magical signature will be over looked. But what ever does you magic will read them to you, what the alignment is, what they specialize in, and even the race. Go ahead. Just concentrate and let your magic flow out. Go see who it is.” Of course The Demon knew. But he needed to test the elf. He needed to know how hard he was going to work to train him. This simple test should gauge his level of magic and comprehension. |
He tensed at the mention of someone being outside. Abbadon seemed to think everything would be okay but he'd seen the demon could be too sure of himself sometimes. Right now the last thing he wanted to was extend any part of himself towards the threat. The cavern wasn't devoid of flora but he couldn't communicate with them to find out anything what lie beyond the waterfall.
Sid looked up at Abbadon fearfully, realizing for the first time how much he looked like family. He gulped and meekly reached out with his magic to a specific area. It didn't require as much energy as he thought, he just need to let the surrounding energy carry his own magic where he wanted. They were like neighbors, every speck of energy communicated with another effortlessly. Sid could sense there was information hanging in the air but he couldn't make head nor tails of what it could be. Outside the waterfall though he did feel the aura of someone else. 'This is someone...familiar?' This was his first time at this exercise he never paid attention before to magic signatures. "Now then we must hurry, we want to get a move on." The waterfall was all he could hear now, the stillness in the air chilled Thauron. They knew he was here. The one who did not act was oft the one to die in battle. But would he pick the path to a trap? There was but one way behind the falls because jumping through the water would surely open him to any attack. Unless... Thauron was in the air, dagger in one hand and throwing knife in the other. His path led him into the water except with a simple word of magic they parted to let him through. The moment Thauron saw his enemy the knife dipped in paralysis poison left his fingers before he was near the cavern's ground. His aim was perfect but his distance from the demon Abbadon was great enough for the creature to probably deflect it with ease. Thauron was ready. "Sídhondir, don't leave with this creature. Please." His charge was raised to the order's teachings but the child wasn't trained to be a warrior. Harsh words wouldn't endear the child him. Sid squeaked, "Thauron." He was face to face now with someone who practically embodied all his sense of duty to his own people. The youngling felt so conflicted. He was afraid, he wanted to run... "I don't...want to die." His misty mis-matched eyes looked pleadingly towards the older elf. If he left with him surely that's what would happen. Thauron had hopes to prevent that from happening. "I wouldn't let that happen." he said soothingly as his own voice would let him. Thauron's gaze met Sid's but his attention never left Abbadon. Before coming he Thauron had sent a message to the elders and the order what he knew. And before coming here he asked the wizards at the school about shadow magic, namely to keep the demon from sending him away again. No one was willing to help an elf of course, but one woman did show him one thing. Abbadon could swallow him in shadows and send him away again but it would be harder now that he knew how to see them in time to jump away. |
‘Yes it is and I believe he shall reveal himself to us.’
As predicted the older elf appeared. He threw his knife towards The Demon. The shadows created by the light coming into the cave entrance allowed Abaddon to capture the knife with a shadow tendril. He sighed and rolled his eye dramatically. He took the knife from the tendril and examined it. “Poison dipped knife huh? I wonder how this would work considering demons have high resistance to poison.” Abaddon made a gagging sound as the other begged the young elf not to leaf. Oh how he felt like vomiting from the pathetic pleas of the older elf. The Demon tossed the knife behind him, now it was lost in the dark. Abaddon nudged Sid on his back to garner his attention. “He’s lying to you Sid. He can’t possibly guarantee your safety. Not as long as we’re bound. Whatever magic was used to bind us is neither of your kind nor mine. I doubt your ‘elders’ even know what type of magic it is. Two things are going to happen to you if you go with him Sid. One they will lock you up until they can find a way to unbind us and get rid of me. You said it yourself, your kind like others to believe they are perfect and things like this don’t happen to them. You said it; you admit your people’s flaw. The second thing is that they figure killing you will unbind us or get rid of me. They can’t kill me, so you’re their best bet.” The Demon stepped in front of Sid and keeping him behind him. He growled his black-clawed hand out and ready to lay damage on Thauron. “We don’t have to go into the cities and steal anything from them. But I can’t allow you to go with him. It will be the end of you for sure, but it doesn’t guarantee the end of me.” The next part Abaddon decided to tell telepathically so that Thauron may not hear a thing. ‘You have a choice master, but I can assure you no one will know you even existed if you go with him. He maybe looking out for your best interests but there is something much bigger than he is going on, much bigger than you, and most certainly much bigger than myself. If you go back, I can’t protect you. There is something wicked coming this way and we should go out and figure out what it is. But we can’t do that if you listen to him and go with him. Now then what is your choice master? Whatever you pick I am oblige to stand by it. But should you fall, I am…sorry. T’was not my intention you have you die. I only wanted to see this world again, I missed it so. And the moment I sensed an opening I quickly came through it without thinking about the consequences. And for that I…apologize.’ The Demon stared hard at Thauron; he waited for Sid’s decision. He waited for the elder to attack him. He merely stood there and waited. |
He apologized. 'I want to know the truth of what you say myself. Can your magic get us out before it gets too bad?'
Sid needed closure to his former life. It was obvious what Abbadon was saying was true but he really wanted to believe in his own. Even if they chose to kill him would they be meriful or view him to still be a child of the forests? Thauron watched the demon move protectively in front of Sid, though that was probably more to keep him from crossing the threshold to Thauron. It seemed Sid welcomed his protection and moved closer behind him. That was it, fear. Sid wanted to live and feel protected. Abbadon had the right of it though and Thauron was a poor negotiator. So in his mind he planned how he was going to fight Abbadon even if it meant killing Sid. 'I'm sorry Frandir' he thought. And he waited for confirmation that Sid would side with the demon. |
‘I see, well then it seems to me that your buddy here thinks I am holding you against your will or something along those lines. I say we keep that façade up. Only because if they think you’re aligned to me, he might be ordered to kill you. If they think I stole you for whatever plausible reason and maybe not kill you. We’ll see how that works out.’
The Demon immediately turned and grabbed Sid, hoisting him over The Demon’s shoulder. “I’m through waiting. You’re coming with me whether you like it or not.” The Demon shot a fire bolt in front of the ground where Thauron stood. Instead of blowing up and causing damage. It grew bright like a flare, hoping to temporarily blind the elf as Abaddon teleported out of the cave. Once they were out in the open, The Demon shifted into a Griffin and began to fly away from the swamp and away from the school. ‘Should we head to those twin cities you mentioned?’ |
{{If you want to run into anyone or find anything interesting now would be the time. We can fast-forward some as well. Sorry for the uninspired post. This is my favorite RP right now idk. Not feeling it atm}} "Yes" he said trying to cry over the wind blowing through his hair. '-but let's go somewhere and get ready. I need food and water...and maybe one last bath before the trip? I need to look like a human though and it's not easy to hide these ears.' Sid stopped his telepathic link to think to himself. He thought heavily on what he knew about his own people or rather what he thought he knew. He didn't cry but the little wanted to. He just couldn't do anything now but feel the crushing uncertainty of the future. |
((Uhm maybe we should run into another demon perhaps? Lemme see if I can do it in this post.))
Abaddon the Griffin nodded. 'That's nothing a little shifting magic can't do.' The Demon sensed a town nearby. They could stop there and get everything they needed. But there was something else The Demon sensed. It tingled his spine how familiar this energy signal was. No it couldn't be....his worst nightmare came true as a fireball was hurling towards. He quickly maneuvered out of the way, singeing his side a little. The Demon squawked in pain and looked before him a winged figure, a winged demon. The Demon shifted into hit normal form, having Sid latched onto his back like a child would with a parent. "Abaddon? I knew I recognize that hideous shifted griffin form of yours." The figure before him kind of resembled Abaddon, save for being far more slender and taller. This demon had longer hair than Abaddon did and wore much longer robes. The other Demon's wings were quite beautiful, they were like the wings of a phoenix. In retrospect this demon did not seem to be a demon at all. The only give aways were the sharp yellow eyes and blacken stained arms in which both he and Abaddon shared. Abaddon growled towards this demon, he really wasn't expecting to see this disgusting useless waste of space again. "Phenex. What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be stewing in the pit with the rest of those loser Demons?" "Oh my how hurtful, I only wanted to see my most favorite halfling." "Oh yes because the key to showing someone you miss them is shooting fire at them!" Abaddon hissed, holding his side that was slightly injured. "Well just because you are my most favorite doesn't mean I'm not going to hurt you when you anger me." "Goodness I feel all so tingly inside from this nauseating affection. You still didn't answer my question. What.are.you.doing.here?" The other demon hummed, looking bored until the elf caught the demon's yellow eyes. "Oh what's that you got there Abby?" Before the other could reply Phenex was already behind him. He stared at Sid for a moment, cupping his face in one of his long slender hands. "Is this one of these living mortals? Not humans, uhm elves right? Oh wow how cute~ We don't get elves in our domain. They don't believe in an underworld like humans do. Elves are so 'perfect' so there wouldn't be a reason to go to such a horrible place. Your connection with the arcane plane is what allows you to transcend into magic and return to this magical plane yes?" Abaddon snarled, quickly turning to face the other demon. "You keep your filthy claws off of him you disgusting maggot!" "My, my how over protective of some mortal we are huh Abby?" "STOP CALLING ME THAT!" He threw a fireball at the other demon, but the long hair demon easily avoided it. "I swear you're such a hot head. If you must know I entered this plane not too long ago like yourself. There was a portal opening and I went through. I looked around but I couldn't locate the caster. So I've been around, causing some trouble. I blew up a few flying metal ships on my way here. I sensed you so I thought I'd give you a warm welcome." The long haired demon said as a matter of fact. That was odd, there was another portal opening? Abaddon wondered how many other portals opened. And were there any other demons in the same position as he is. Abaddon then looked up at the other demon, what is it that he wanted from him? Why was he still here? "Well? Why are you still here? You managed to give such a 'warm welcome' now what do you want?" Phenex was still there, look rather bored. "Aren't you tired of asking me all these questions? Can't I say hell-" "NO, no you can't what do you want?" Phenex sighed, "Well if you must know once again after I sensed you I came this way. But something isn't right about you. Your magical aura has changed. Not sure what it is but it is definitely not halflingish as it was. Then I see you with this little thing and I thought it was this mortal, but he has his own magical signature. So it's still coming from you. I just had you seek you out. I wonder, if I can get it to manifest itself." As he said that last part, Phenex disappeared and reappeared in front of Abaddon. He swiftly punched the shorter haired demon in the stomach. Abaddon was quite shocked and in pain. Before he could recover, Phenex continued his onslaught and knocked Abaddon out of the sky. Abaddon recovered quickly enough to get Sid off his back and hanging on to his shoulders. Abaddon crashed into the ground, back first. He gasped, quite in pain. He released Sid to go run off. "Go...he's not interested in you. Go and get out of the way..." Abaddon said as he slowly got up and looked up at Phenex who was still in the air. His pupils narrowed like a cat's eyes. He bared his teeth and claws. He formed flesh like wings to fly up to the other Demon. "Some cheap shot you took Phenex." "A demon should be aware of his surroundings. You made it so easy spacing out Abby." "DON'T.CALL.ME.THAT." Abaddon then went into the attack and lunged at Phenex. The long haired demon smirked and braced for impact. |
{{Thankfully he's remembered holy magic is quite effective on demons. Sadly it won't be so effective on mortals and he's stuck on the ground. If you want me to take control of another demon let me know. Depending on how this goes a new challenger (on our side) may join the fray. It is unrealistic to say it is Thauron since they left him in their dust unfortunately.}} As if there wasn't enough unanswered questions another demon appeared and slammed Abbadon with fire. He was shocked to see that it had actually affected him. Things were once again happening to fast and despite recent events Sid didn't have any plans on what to do in situations like this. If this new demon didn't seem like such a threat he would've found the nickname "Abbey" amusing too. Sid wanted to heal Abbadon's wound but traditional healing magic would only injure him. I got it!He knew how he could contribute to the fight. However he was dropped to the ground he tried to stop Abbadon and jump back on. 'Abbadon think! I'm an elf in a human city and there may be more demons out there. I'm safer on you than down here!' As if on cue a shady look woman stepped from the shadows dressed in provocative clothing stepped out to greet Sid. But her aged body was less than pleasant on the eyes. She wasn't gray but the lifestyle she had lived clearly wore on her. Whomever was in the sky said he didn't have a master. Either that was a lie, or there was a third. The thought chilled him. 'Help! Abbadon!' The woman didn't use any magic on him, instead she lunged at him with a dagger. Thankfully Sid was not only practiced with wards but telekinesis as well. However she moved very unpredictably. Sid was deflecting her attacks and moving out of harms way but it was only a matter of time before she cornered him. The poor elf didn't even realize it. |
((If you want to go right ahead. You can make up your own Demon or use Phenex. It would be funny if Thauron showed up. Abaddon would be like: Dude srs HOW DID YOU EVEN GET HERE SO FAST. He would be so mad xD))
Abaddon finally recalled that they were indeed in human territory. This was a bad place for Sid to be in. He tried to go to bring him back up but Phenex had other Ideas. "No no Abby dear, the battle is up here. " More fireballs went Abaddon's way. He hated Phenex for the sole fact he was proficient with fire magic. Each demon had specialized in one type of magic. Phenex was bless with total control of fire, he can even be reborn from his own ashes, which is how he got his name Phenex, it was closely associated with Phoenix. But what abou Abaddon? What type of magic had he been blessed with total control over? Well to be honest he wasn't sure. He may be old, but Phenex was much older than the short haired demon. He had more time to discover his magical gift. Abaddon wasn't the type of person to wait around and figure it out. That was time consuming, he learned as much magic as he could get his hands on and just used them all. He wasn't bad with any of them, but he wasn't an expert on them as Phenex is with fire. And the long haired Demon seemed to notice this as well. He would often taunt the younger of his lack of aptitude of any class of magic. This infuriated Abaddon and got into many fights with Phenex. And as much as he hated to admit it, he would lose every time. So back to this battle, why was Phenex so interested in fighting him if he knew he was going to win? Special magical signature or not, Abaddon had no idea what he meant. He wasn't even certain if he had this 'special signature' the other mentioned. Maybe he was messing with him as he always did. Abaddon easily dodge the fireballs, as he dodged the last one he returned the favor by using ice magic to shoot giant icicles at the fire demon. He did not expect Abaddon to use ice magic and was struck while barely dodging the icicles. A nice thin cut which opened across Phenex's face. He was not happy he frowned and snarled at the other demon. "You little beast! You cut me in my face! MY BEAUTIFUL FACE." "So? It needed an improvement anyways. If only I had a material that would enable me to cover the rest of it. It would be quite the miracle." Phenex roared with anger and charged at Abaddon. And that's what he was waiting for. Now that the other was filled with rage he could fight him better. Phenex was only a good fighter when he was calm. But not that he's upset, he won't be able to concentrate. As the other charged him, Abaddon was able to shoot lightning at the long haired demon. He was too close to react and was shot out of the sky. He landed in some nearby trees. Abaddon took the opportunity to fly down and grab Sid before the woman attacked him. Abaddon shifted his face to a gruesome monster to scare her off. 'I almost forgot we were in human territory.' Abaddon flew up high in the air, just as Phenex was recovering. "That...actually hurt. You little monster, you're getting stronger aren't you?" "This isn't like last time Phenex. I refuse to let you win any longer." 'Unfortunately that's a lie....I don't have a chance to beat him. Not until I find the magic that I am blessed to have complete control over as he has. I should probably explain this to you as we fight.' Abaddon put up some shields to block off Phenex's fire bolts. 'Okay listen kid, each demon specializes in a certain type of magic. This allows them to kind of evolve into a super demon of this magic type. Phenex for example is a halfling like myself, but since he discovered his magic type to be fire, he's now a fully realized fire demon. Most demons share these magic types but the point is he's at a higher level than I am. I don't think I can take him, I have no idea what my special magic is. I haven't been able to figure it out. I didn't want to wait so I learned a bunch of magic which I know use. I don't suck at them but none of them is one in particular that I'm great in so I'm stuck as a halfling fighting this powerful fire demon.' At some point Phenex broke the shield and charged at Abaddon. The younger quickly created a fire bolt to keep the older away. He tried his best to dodge any or all of Phenex's moves. With Sid on his back, he coudn't afford to get hit. "Keep still so I can set you on fire Abby!" |
I started typing, then allergies came in and then more excuses came up. i don't feel like the below post is any good. So I'll just re-read it another day. For now pretend this post never happened. u_u;
