Cats can be pretty crazy yeah
I love animals really and wish I could have more but I'm in rather small living spaces right now and it is very unfair to the animal to get him/her and confine him to such a tight area with other animals

PLEASE encourage your parents to NOT get a sugar glider. They are FABULOUS pets, but they are a 'group' animal. If you get just one it will often die due to depression. Human contact is NOT enough to fill the void. They also require a very specialized diet, you can buy pelleted food, but that should be augmented with a LOT of fresh things(and living things for that matter).

Sorry, had a very good friend learn the hard way how hard sad it is to have one sugar glider.

They were gonna get at least two of them...and we always have freash fruit...the bird and guinea pig adore frash fruit...

Fey 04-06-2012 09:11 PM

they require a LOT of other things like mealworms, crickets, fresh veggies...if they do their research and care for them correctly they are great pets. But they're not as simple as a cat or dog to care for.

Mommy would do her research. They also bought a specific type of bird and daddy did research for about 6 months before fully deciding and saying yes. So they would make sure they could. Daddy just got interested because we saw them at the mall.

We have a Crimson Bellied Conure, Daddy literally did research for 6 months after he first saw one in Petsmart...

people unfortunately do that a lot, buy a more exotic pet than a cat or a dog and don't properly research how to care for them
people also buy huskies when they live in bloody FLORIDA. that's so cruel

I have a whole closet of soap boxes about people and pets. and as this is not the place to get on any of 'em I shall simply agree.

At our height we had - six cats, three dogs, two parrots, a cage of parakeets, a hamster, a 40 gallonish fish tank full of fish, and snails - I miss my snails. Two turtles and a rabbit.

They used to call out house the real city zoo. <3

We have zero pets and I like it that way. But it wasn't always so. Before my parents separated we had 4 dogs. Which was too many considering I me and my dad don't care for them much but were ironically the ones literally taking care of them. >=[ Mom and my brothers were so emphatic but didn't take care of them or play with them much. It might sound horrible what I was ready to just get rid of them in any humane way possible. But because it's not my house I could not really take charge. Now my dad is stuck with those four dogs. In a way I guess they help him with his kids being with his wife. I don't know cause I'm never around. All the dogs stay outdoors.

Someone dumped off a pregnant cat in our neighborhood just over a year ago.
I had one cat before that.

Everyone is fixed. So, no kitten surprises.
We got them fixed as soon as possible.
It was a lot of money, but totally worth it!!

I had 10 pets but two this last year passed away
has 4 cats 1 dog and 3 rabbits currently

I think someone my mother knows had well over 20 cats though before she had to move, she had them for years, some inside and some outside cats and recently had to find homes for them...
now that is too many

I have 2 pet rocks, but if my apart can allow cats then I want to get a cat (or a bunny, If my apartment will let me have one)

I had an amazing cat that died about a year ago, broke my heart but I will always remember her so she's never truly gone. I got a Pitbull now, very kind hearted dog that's more likely to paw at you than bark.
