*Hugs the people running Trisphee*

...In truth, Trisphee is the only forum I both feel somewhat at home at...and that isn't completely dead. Most of the forum-sites I've been on are either full of 6-year-old-4chan trolls, or has about the same or worse traffic in comparison to Trisphee.

Oh, my dearest Aiko, I did say that getting an NDA co-signed was an option. It's unfortunate that this didn't seem to be an option for you, because I still really like your work!

I'd love to still, but my parents wouldn't allow it. Even though I'd love to do free work in order to help the site, my parents think otherwise. -_-'

That's horrid! I hope you're still around when you're the right age then, I'd really love to see more of your work around here. Your eye for shapes is amazing.

o////u///o Thank you! I hope so as well. I hope college life isn't too busy by the time I'm eighteen.

I think creating special-colored limited time grab bags with commons would be a great way to spice up Archaic Antiquities. Maybe make them 10 runes and leave them up for 60 days before adding new recolors. We have enough commons, I think they just need spiced up and updated but it would make sense to sell them for runes, and leave the originals as they are for aurum in the shops. It seems like something that would sell if the commons chosen were updated with current style trends in the real world. Ombre hairs, special leggings, graphic hoodies/t-shirts/shorts, prints and patterns, etc.

I am a big fan of no ads. If it takes money to keep them off for the time being, then so be it.

Trisphee is a side home for me. Yeah I don't post a lot, I mostly lurk, but it's a place where I can read and have some fun. I've actually met some decent enough friends on here and I like it. It's a bit sleepy but it gives you time to catch up on posts, instead of being caught in a torrential flood of threads that you see elsewhere.

I also like the type of community we have right now. Everyone is so accepting. You can have awful things going on at home, people comfort you and accept you. You can be trying to work out some serious personal flaws, and people accept you. You can identify as a gender fluid tuna and people will accept you. There's little to no trolling, mocking, dashing of hopes and very few insults hurled at people here. I know for Trisphee to survive it must grow and bring in new people, and at this current state we're a bit slim, but this is a great place to me so far.

If it's cash we need to stay on our feet for now, then so be it. Let it go towards hiring talented people to make art, to write, to code, to make the site more interactive. I say let it grow based on word of mouth and features and the open and talented community. Let us be our own advertising for now.

Even with the lack of actual posting and speaking I do, nowhere else have I felt more welcomed.

Yes, but losing ISN'T better than no dollars. If we lose even a single user because we've put up ads, we'll be at a net loss.

You know... I brought up of how much work was required to begin with on that project and how that time could had been spent elsewhere. I'm glad it got canned, I just hope not a lot of work was put into it (if any at all.)
Fortunately it wasn't that bad. It was mostly a bunch of copy-paste work with different gradients applied. The real problem was the amount of extra work that would have gone into further layout modifications.

You know... I have friends that would offer you free labor willingly with no pay in return, they just want something to work on. Now one of them is of age, and a bunch of them in College bored out of their mind. Quote me an email for them to submit an application and I'll go around advertising. :/
In terms of code, this isn't something we want. Toho and I are plenty competent and unlike this time last year I'm not in any position to mentor someone new.

Oh and pixeling in general. I'm still eager to apply, but I've been more interested in tuning my skills first instead of just handing out junk. (Unless people want pixels of any kind, then I'll churn out my meh level pixels and slowly improve from there..)
Your current skill level could be useful for getting some game assets going if this is something you're interested in. It wouldn't be items and I'd be rather picky on the specs but not so much on the style.

Shoot you a PM....? Or offer you an open ended question to a thread that will be eager to hear it?

What sort of game per say?

Are you looking more so for illustrations, pixels, and or graphic design for the game...? (Specifics?)

And -insert question here that will reveal more details about the game for everyone else to know about.-

Going on some of my own attitudes, I like achievements and such, so I think little things (visually that is, no idea about coding) might get some people to be even a teeny bit more active. I liked the posting achievements, but there are only so many that people can see and therefore try to get. For activity at least, perhaps something like small incentives such as a 10 rune prize for each 500 to 1000 posts? It means people need to be somewhat active, but it's not (theoretically) so easy to get that people would spam post. The changing title thing is quite amusing.

Anyway to post and make runes would completely defeat any reason to actually buy them, let alone exploit the hell out of it.

Quiet Man Cometh 01-24-2015 01:02 AM

Damage would be relative depending on how many users are actually buying runes. So much of this stuff is relative to attitudes. People who can't or won't by runes might feel left out or resentful of the people who do buy them, or for us even selling special currency items. A handful of runes at a time at least provides a rune option for people who can't really donate, and might encourage more participation. There is still value in donating as A: it helps the site and some people are altruistic enough to do it, and B: it saves a lot of time and posts for people who don't want to wait.

What might happen is runes might go down in "aurum" price in the market because they are a little less exclusive.

Lucid: 01-24-2015 02:37 AM

Still, while a program like that might not be exploited by any current users, I think it would be a problem in the long run. I think the best way to give out runes to non-donating users is through participation in event contests and games. That way it still encourages activity but can't be taken advantage of. The downside is that it's based around the time the event takes place, but once we get regular events happening that'll be less of a big deal.

DK, I have wanted to update some old threads/stickies in the forum for quite some time. I will see about getting that done sometime in early February (I took some vacation). Hopefully that will alleviate some of the problems that you are discussing. :3
