Holden grabbed the folder, "Ok, I don't have other questions." He said as he quickly scanned over the folder. He stood up, "I will have this returned tomorrow, and thank you for your time." He said with a smile as he extended his hand.
|
Marsha stood and shook his hand, "Don't feel rushed either though, the students are on an extended weekend. It will be a pleasure to have Amanda here."
Solomon gave a nod to Marsha, "Thank you very much Marsha." He led Holden back out to the car, "I hope Amanda doesn't feel..out of place.." |
Holden smiled as he followed Solomon. "She will be fine, she adapts very quickly." He said as he go into the car. "I'm surprised she didn't mention anything about you not wearing shoes." He said with a smile. "Can you take me to the closest dealership? I need to get a safer car for when Amanda starts school." Holden said as he kissed Solomon on the cheek.
|
Solomon looked down, wiggling his toes, "I came by once without a shirt and she didn't care. She's very..odd..but she's amazing with kids." He got int he car, waited for Holden then drove off, "Of course, just make sure that it's not something extremely ugly..I will not have such a thing in my garage." He laughed, pulling into the lot, "Perhaps a nice Audi Quatro? They're very nice."
|
They are but I was think more of a BMW Alpina, I mean Audi's are very safe but for some reason when I think safety I think BMW." Holden said with a smile. He sighed "I didn't tell you this, but when we were in the U.S. I applied to a few schools, and I got accepted into Slade School of Fine Art." He said with a little apprehension. "And I got into the Royal College of Art." He said looking up. "I don't know which one to go to they are both respectable schools, and technically both would be paid for because of my trust fund." Holden sighed closing his eyes.
|
Solomon nodded stepping out of the car, "I don't know which school would be best..like you said, they're both very nice." He looked around for the BMW's, leading Holden over, "Perhaps Slade? I've seen a lot of their students' works in my galleries."
|
Holden got out of the car, "I was thinking Slade to, I mean no offense to the RCA, but I am also interested in sculpture, and architecture. It's not just painting." He said with a smile. He put his arm around Solomon's waist, "What should my major be?" Holden asked as he put his head on Solomon's shoulder.
|
He shrugged, "I don't know Holden, you have to decide that for yourself." He moved over to a blue BMW, "Just pick a car and lets go, I have no idea what my feet are touching right now." He really did not want to look down.
|
"You can go if you want, I can drive the car off of the lot. I'm not gonna have it customized or anything." Holden said letting go of Solomon and looking around. He noticed a salesman, "Go I will be fine." He said with a smile as he gave Solomon a quick kiss on the lips. Holden went over to the salesman and waited until he wasn't busy.
|
Solomon nodded, kissing him goodbye and hurrying ot his car. He sat inside for a moment. Dare he look down? Nope. He started the car and peeled off the lot, speeding through the streets back to his manor. He hurried inside and went to the bathroom, scrubbing off his feet with his eyes closed. From the smell, he had a feeling it was bird poop..fresh.
|
Holden sighed as he signed the papers. He was thinking what major he should do, he wasn't paying much attention the the salesman.
"That is the last thing Mr. Evans." The man said with a smile. "Thank you." He said slightly irritated with paperwork. "Your welcome, now here is your keys and remotes." The man said handing Holden the two key sets. "Ok." He said as he put the spare set in his jacket. "I'm gonna have to get a key box." He thought to himself. "And here is my card, if you need anything just give me a call Mr. Evans." The man said as he stood up and extended his hand. "Will do." He said standing up and shaking the mans hand with a fake smile. "Have a nice day sir." The man said as he sat down. Holden waved as he left the office. He got into the navy blue BMW he just bought. "Well it looks good, nice leather interior. Not much for automatic but I will survive." He said as he started the car. Holden peeled out of the lot and headed home. "God I hate salesmen." |
Once Solomon was all cleaned up, he finished getting dressed, opting for a purple vest and black tie this time. It had been awhile since he wore purple. He smiled, smoothing out his clothes before heading down just as Holden walked in the door, "You know, manual is not necessarily unsafe...if you really hate auto."
|
"I don't hate auto, I just prefer manual." Holden said as he closed the door. "Purple is your color." He said with a wink. "I'm surprised I haven't been tackled yet." He said as he heard Amanda's footsteps. "I spoke to soon." He said turning to where he heard her coming from. "Hey kid." He said as he picked her up before she could tackle him.
"Hey not fair." Amanda said with a pout. He smiled, "Oh is it really?" He asked as he tickled her belly. Hahaha Ya!" She said in between laughs. Holden laughed as he put her down, "In a few days you are gonna be in school." He said with a smile. "Why?" She asked. "Because you need to get an education." He said rubbing her head. "Are you hungry? What do you want for supper?" He asked as he kneeled down. "Umm pizza." Amanda said rocking on her heels. "Pizza it is, now I have to go make a few calls, then I will call for the pizza, ok?" He asked with a smile. "Ok." She said running back to Alicia. He smiled as he stood back up, "Is the paperwork still in your car or in the study?" Holden asked putting his hand on the door handle. |
"Ah, it's in the study." Solomon grabbed Holden, kissing him lightly on his neck, "Holden, you can do that later. You've been gone all day, now you go spend time with your sister. Alright? I'll take care of dinner. Anne makes this marvelous pizza..." He let Holden go with a smile.
|
Holden moaned quietly when Solomon kissed his neck. "I wanted to catch her doctor before he left the office." He looked at his watch. "Never mind it's already 10:00 p.m. there." He said looking at Solomon. "Do you mind if I show Amanda the horses?" He asked looking down the hall. "Also I need to pick out her room." Holden said feeling stress coming on.
"Holden you will be fine, while you occupy Amanda I will pick out her room, ok?" Alicia asked trying to calm him down. "Damn it Alicia stop eavesdropping my conversations." Holden said glaring down the hall. |
"Alicia.." Solomon muttered, "Ah! Feel free! I'm sure they would enjoy some company. Just make sure to stay out of Jack's way..he's cranky today." He chuckled slightly heading upstairs to help Alicia.
|
Holden nodded still a little angry at Alicia. He went and picked up Amanda, "I have something I wanna show you." He said with a small smile.
"What? Is it cool?" Amanda asked perky. "Yes its very cool." He said with a smile as he led her to the barn. "Tell me." She said impatient. "You will see in a second." He said as he said as he got closer to the barn. "Holden!" "Hi Kali." He said with a smile. Amanda gasped as she saw a horse run from the barn, "A horsie?" She said. "Yep but there is three more, this one is named Kali. She's actually my horse." He said with a smile. "Who's this? "This is my sister Amanda." He said as he made it to the fence. "She is so pretty." Amanda said reaching her hand out. "Yes she is." He said wondering if he could ride her with Amanda. "Solomon could I ride Kali with Amanda?" Holden asked as he petted Kali. "Holden needs to settle down. He is getting all neh." Alicia said throwing her hands up. "I know he hasn't fed in over two weeks but he doesn't need to be all uppity." She said looking at Solomon. "I think this room would be perfect for Amanda, its not to far away from Holden's room. Yet its not to close." She said with a sigh. Oh don't let him not sleep tonight, he needs rest too." Alicia said leaning against the door jam. |
Solomon nodded at Alicia, "It'll suffice I suppose. It's about the same size as her other room so that's nice." "It's up to her. I'm not sure if the saddles have come in yet though, you'll have ot ask Jack." Suddenly he yelled out, "I can't believe I forgot! Dammit!" He disappeared, reappearing in front of Rilov's stall.
The horse nickered loudly, throwing his head up and down. "Ah! I had a feeling you'd be excited! How're you feeling?" He went inside inspecting Rilov's knee. There was a complex brace around it to help support the weight properly while his knees recovered, "AAh, no pasture time for you unfortunately. I know, it's hard, but in a few days I can finish off the healing." |
Alicia was surprised as Solomon left. "Well in the middle of a conversation nice." She said crossing her arms.
Holden put Amanda down, "I'm gonna go and see if her saddle is in, so just stay here and be nice." He said with a smile. "You be good to Kali." He said as he went towards the barn. "Ok." Amanda said with a smile. "What can I do?" Holden smiled as he went to the barn. "You know keeping us a secret is gonna be hard if she was in here." He said with a smile. "I'm just kidding love." He said with a wink. "So how is he doing?" He asked stopping next to Solomon. "Jack is Kali's saddle in?" Holden asked looking at Rilov. |
Solomon turned around, "I was perfectly aware of where she was and what she was facing..." He smiled a bit, "Good, I guess..you know...you can ask him yourself."
He snorted, shaking his head around a bit "How would you feel after surgery? Hm?" Jack came around the corner with a black English saddle, blanket, bit and reins, "Just finished polishing 'em up! Keep it short, alright? They're brand new and still need to be broken in. I might suggest an extra pad for awhile as well." He held the stuff out to Holden. |
Holden smiled at Solomon, and then looked at Rilov, "I'm sorry Rilov. Just feel better ok?" He said as he turned to Jack. "Thanks Jack." He said with a smile as he grabbed the tack. He watched Jack scurry away, "I'm gonna go and give Amanda a ride, she hasn't ridden a horse before." He said as he turned and gave Solomon a slap on the butt. "I'll be back shortly." Holden said waving with his free hand, as he left the barn.
|
"Just be careful, stay in the arena alright?" He exited the stall, latching it shut as he followed Holden. He watched for a moment before disappearing; after making sure Amanda wasn't looking. He reappeared next to Alicia, "I apologize for that.."
|
Alicia sighed, "One thing I hate about vampires, is that they disappear mid conversation." She said still having her arms crossed. "Promise me that when Amanda goes to bed you make Holden go and feed, I don't want him ending up like you. Where you use all of your power and then feed." She said with a look of disappointment on her face. "I might as well move in to take care of the three of ya." She said shaking her head.
Holden smiled as he felt Solomon leave. "Ok, now its gonna be short because this saddle is new and I don't wanna hurt Kali." He said as he walked into the pasture, to start saddling Kali. Amanda nodded. Holden had the tack on within minutes. "Now follow me while I take Kali to the arena." He said as he led Kali to the arena. When he got her in there he grabbed the mounting block and put it next to Kali. He got in the saddle and got adjusted, "Now slowly climb up on the block, I will grab you when you get close enough." Holden said with a smile. |
Solomon laughed slightly, "I will keep him in tip-top shape, I promise Alicia." He went to the window watching Holden and Amanda, "I would never subject him to such dangerous ways."
|
Alicia sighed, "You better or I will hurt you." She said with a smirk. "After everything he has been through in the two months, he still keeps his priority's in check." She said closing her eyes. "But he needs to spend time for himself, he needs to paint." Alicia said thinking on how painting made Holden feel better.
|
Solomon rolled his eyes, "He will do what he feels he needs to do Alicia. He's still settling into our lifestyle yet."
[[llaammee]] |
Holden was feeling strange, his bones were shifting. It was starting to get painful. "Ow." He said in a whisper.
Alicia's eyes flew open, "Something is wrong with Holden." She said trying to figure out how to get down there to help him. "Amanda hold on tight." He said painfully. "Kali when I get off take her into the barn." He said as he pushed the gate open with TK. He jumped off of Kali and landed on his knees. "What's going on with me?" Holden asked Alicia and Solomon. Alicia quickly teleported to Holden. "Go help Amanda." Holden said pointing to the barn Alicia nodded and ran to the barn. |
Solomon was there before Alicia could even think her words. He hardly cared if Amanda saw him appear, but luckily he was smart and appeared behind them. He gently touched Kali's mind to alert her of his presence. Solomon went down to his knees, "Holden..what's wrong?" He couldn't sense anything amiss, other than pain.
|
Alicia made it to the barn and grabbed Amanda off of Kali and knocked her out. "Sorry Amanda." She said as she teleported to Amanda's room.
"My... Bones." Holden said as he fell down to his hands. Suddenly Holden's back shifted up into an arch. Hair was starting to grow all over his body. He screamed out in pain, "What is going on?" Holden asked as a tear rolled down his cheek. |
Solomon jumped back slightly, unsure of how to help. He's encountered shape shifting vampires before, but he was never required to help them in any way. The best he could do was manipulate Holden's nerves to stop sending the signals of pain in hope of dulling it a bit.
|
Holden was in immense pain. His fingers were starting to fuse together, his nails were growing out and turning black. His face was starting to elongate, he yelled out in pain. He fell to the ground as the transformation process was finishing. Within a minute he was a Arctic Wolf. He let out a high pitched whine, he looked at Solomon with light yellow eyes. Holden tried to speak but all that was coming out was mini howls.
|
Solomon swatted Holden on the nose, "Shut up, that's really annoying." He rubbed his temples, "How am I going to get you back to normal?" Solomon was fairly calm about this. He knew exactly how Holden got the powers of shape shifting, but how to help him was completely beyond him. The only person he knew that would even pause a second to think to help was the last person he would ask. "Fuck. Stay here." He disappeared, appearing by Alicia, "He can shape shift.."
|
Alicia sighed, "I figured as much. You know as well as I do that he is the only one who can change himself back." She looked at Amanda, "It looks like I am gonna have to keep her out longer then I thought. What did he turn into?" She asked sitting on the bed. "No wonder he was in so much pain, shape shifting is very painful. Especially the first time. What? My dad could shape shift, he always did a bear." She sighed again. "I can only change my appearance. Not as cool as turning into an animal, but the principle is the same." She said folding her hands on her lap.
Holden stood up and looked around. He started walking around the arena, "How did this happen?" Holden asked himself. |
Solomon nodded, "I know..shape shifters are rare though, and even if you find one, they rarely relinquish their animal form to help." He was silent a moment, "The only person I can think of to possibly help is Jaclynn, but I know she would never." He sighed, "Other than that, you're the only person who can help him. I can't shape shift in the slightest..."
|
"They are, my dad only changed when he was bored." Alicia said with a slight smile. "All I can really do is talk to him." She said pinching her nose. "If you can't then how did he get it?" She asked a little confused. "I will do what I can, please stay here and keep Amanda out." Alicia said as she teleported to Holden.
|
Solomon glanced away, "My father could..." He didn't sound so..positive of the statement. It was unlikely Alicia would ask about it further, seeing as she had already disappeared. He sat down on the chair in the corner, watching Amanda with a slight frown.
After a moment he pulled his eyes from Amanda, his hand automatically pulling out his wallet. He was mildly surprised to find his wallet before him. With a sigh, he flipping it open to pull out a small folded piece of paper. He carefully unfolded it, frowning slightly as the picture revealed itself. With it being as old as it was, it in surprisingly good condition. |
Alicia appeared by Holden, "At least he changed into a beautiful animal." She thought to herself. "Holden?" She said a little apprehensive. She wasn't sure if he kept his mind or if he was all 'animal'.
Holden spun around when he heard Alicia's voice. He ran at Alicia and pounced on her, knocking her to the ground. He smelled her and snarled showing all of his teeth. He howled very loud, scaring the horses and Alicia. His claws were digging into her arms. Alicia was in a lot of pain, but she kept a brave face. "Holden it's me, Alicia. You best friend, your sister from another mother." She said feeling Holden's claws digging into her arms even more. She winced, "Listen to me Holden this isn't you, this is the animal talking. You don't wanna do this, remember who you are." She said trying to keep him from ripping out her throat. Holden was smelling Alicia, he knew her scent. He got to her neck, and he could hear her blood flowing. He snarled, and went into bite. "Holden, you are a vampire, not an animal, even know there isn't much of a distinction. You do not wanna kill me." Alicia said knowing if he did rip her throat off that it wouldn't kill her. "Holden Michael Evans! Come back!" She said slapping his nose. "Sorry." She thought. Holden yelped and flew off of Alicia. He shook his head and looked at Alicia. "What the fuck Alicia? That hurt." He said a little pissed. "I'm sorry but it had to be done, you let your animal instincts take over. Now listen to me carefully, I want you to visualize yourself as a 'human'." She said as she sat up, her wounds instantly healing. Holden closed his yellow eyes, and visualized his human form. He slowly started to change back into himself. When he fully transformed back he was on his hands and knees. He collapsed. "Really? You have to be in your boxers? Well at least your not naked." Alicia said as she walked over to Holden's limp body. She turned him over, "Oh jeez." She said looking for something to cover up his bare 'business'. She saw his tattered shirt on the ground and grabbed it. She covered up his nakedness, she put her hand on his chest and teleported them to his bed. She teleported back to Solomon, "Well if you want him he is pretty much naked in his room, he is unconscious, but if your into that go ahead." Alicia said crossing her arms. |
Solomon jumped a bit, dropping the picture as Alicia appeared. He had been so deep in thought that he hadn't realized they were coming, "I see you managed to help him. Good.." He smiled but seemed rather down on himself. Quickly scrambling for the picture. Alicia had a habit of being awfully nosy and he wanted to snag it back before she grabbed it. However, much to his dismay it skittered on the floor landing only a few inches from Alicia. This meant he would have to leap for it; and so he did.
|
"Yea I did." Alicia said as she saw a piece of paper land a few inches away. She quickly picked it up as Solomon lunged at her, she teleported to the window before Solomon could tackle her. "Now who is this?" She asked looking at the picture.
Holden opened his eyes, "Why do I feel like I have been exposed?" He asked sitting up. He saw that his boxers were on being held on by a thread, "Oh shit." He said quickly covering himself up even though there was no one in the room. Holden sat there for a few minutes thinking. |
Solomon swiftly moved to his feet after a rough landing. He brushed himself off, holding out his hand, "Who else would it be Alicia?" He sighed, stepping over and gingerly taking it from her, "It's my sister..." He carefully folded it back up and placed it in his wallet, "Unconscious you say~"
