Raven blinked at Wolfe, wondering what he was upset about.
Fin, clueless, waved a little at Wolfe. -- "... I will," he told her. |
Wolfe continued to focus on Frei, "Get out of the pool," he ordered quietly and Frei obeyed, walking over to him. Wolfe dropped a towel around her before turning and glaring steely at Fin. "You have two seconds to tell me who you are before I kill you," he stated too calmly.
-- "I should... make something..." she muttered, trying to open her eyes. |
"Uh..." Fin said, caught off guard by Wolfe's hostility. "F-Fin," he replied, becoming afraid.
Raven frowned at Wolfe a little as he stood up. "Kale and Blaze brought him," he explained. -- "Later," he reassured Laurel. |
"Why did they bring you?" Wolfe demanded sharply.
-- Laurel frowned a little but seemed to be fighting a lose battle. Slowly she slipped back to sleep, her grip on Nic's hand loosening. |
"I-I have bad luck..." Fin replied, growing more intimidated of Wolfe.
-- Nic let her hand go after a moment, staying next to her for awhile longer. |
Wolfe's eye's narrowed. He wanted more information.
Fin didn't look like he didn't know what else to say. He swallowed a little. "... I... I saw him," he tried to explain. "And he grabbed me."
Wolfe paused, eyes calculating. Then he turned and said something quietly to Frei. She then walked off.
Wolfe turned back to Fin, "Get out of the pool," he said in a low voice. |
Fin paused a moment before slowly turning around and getting out of the pool on Raven's side which he was closer to anyway. Raven handed him a towel as he got out and gave him a comforting look.
Wolfe's look was the opposite of comforting, "Come here, boy," he stated, eyes flashing.
Fin took a moment to glance at Raven who nodded. So Fin walked around the pool to Wolfe, shaking a little. Raven followed behind him.
Wolfe grabbed Fin's shoulder and pulled him in close, "You think you're on a vacation?" he growled, face too close to Fin's.
"... Wolfe..." Raven said quietly. He was just a boy.
Fin swallowed as he shook a little harder. Who knew the guy with pink hair was so scary? "... N-No," Fin whispered. |
Wolfe's eyes narrowed, "Don't ever forget that," he cautioned, "Now get changed." He shoved the boy a little towards the changing room.
Fin blinked a bit before nodding a little and scurrying off toward the changing room. Raven sighed a little.
Wolfe's feathers were definitely ruffled as he watched Fin walk off.
"What's up?" Raven asked Wolfe when Fin was out of ear shot.
Wolfe started a pace a little before glaring at bit at Raven, "How could you let him just swim around?" he demanded.
"... What do you mean?" Raven asked, confused.
Wolfe continued to glare, "You had no idea who he was," he stated.
"Not yet," Raven replied, "But he's no threat."
"You don't know that," Wolfe said quietly, eyes still flashing
"There's no way Kale would have let him in here if he was a threat," Raven replied, trying to reason with him.
Wolfe shook his head and turned away from Raven, "He 'let him in here' because he's a threat," he explained, waiting for Fin to come out.
"... Not here with us, he's not," Raven clarified, trying to calm Wolfe down a bit before Fin came out. The boy was taking his time.
Wolfe seemed to be stuck in a huff, not wanting to calm down.
"Try not to bite his head off just yet," Raven suggested.
A few minutes later the boy came out fully clothed with his hat on his head and his backpack on his back. He tried to stand tall, but he was still clearly frightened as he started to approach Wolfe again. |
Wolfe eyed the boy once more, "Give me the bag," he ordered with an outstretched hand.
Fin held the bag a little tighter. "This is my stuff," he defended as he tried not to sound intimidated.
Wolfe's frown grew, he did not appreciate this push of his patience.
The boy swallowed a little. "I-I want it all back," he told Wolfe as he slowly slipped off his backpack and reluctantly handed it to Wolfe.
Wolfe wasted no time if opening it and piecing through it's contents.
There was one and a half more changes of clothes, enough protein bars and food packs to last a little over a week if he rationed them, a water bottle, a few bus tickets, a map of some of the islands, a simple identification card, and what appeared to be his life savings of credits. There wasn't much. He might be able to last a few weeks on his own if he actually knew what he was doing. But it looked like the backpack pretty much contained everything he actually owned.
"You're a runaway," Wolfe noted before handing the bag back, "Convenient."
As Wolfe scanned the identity card, he noticed Fin was 14 years old, born in Costa Rica. His natural hair color appeared to be the red that covered the left side of his head. And his full name appeared to be Seraphim Bell.
"I'm not a runaway," Fin clarified as he snatched the bag back. For a moment there, something familiar came out in his face as his brows furrowed, a little irritated, and he double checked to make sure Wolfe hadn't taken anything. |
His ID card was missing, though Wolfe wasn't trying to hide it as he openly held it in one hand. He held out the other, "Now the necklace. I need to scan it," he explained.
Fin shook his head a little as he stepped back. "... I don't take it off," he suddenly said firmly.
That didn't seem to help his case, "Exactly," Wolfe replied as he took a step closer.
Fin took another step back. "I won't let you take it off," he replied, looking like he might finally fight back. "If you have'ta scan it, scan it on me."
Raven was getting ready to step in if it was going to become necessary. |
Wolfe pondered it a moment- Raven could probably guess Wolfe liked that the kid was finally showing some guts. After a moment deliberation, Wolfe flashed forward, hoisted Fin over one shoulder and started to walk off, "As you wish," he replied calmly.
