Raven slowly leaned up against the rock, joining in on the silence. He didn't break it anytime soon.
It was a long time before Wolfe spoke again, voice a little calmer but still tense, "... it was one of the deciding factors... determining my decision to escape with Frei," he explained, "I found out... Hayden was..." but he couldn't finish. He paused for a long moment, "His own sister... and they claim she's the one with brain damage," he hissed, a deep hatred filling his voice, "And... then Laurel... and now you..." he cussed for awhile.
Raven slowly opened his mouth to say something, but nothing came out. After another minute he leaned his head against Wolfe's knee.
"I just... want to kill them all!" Wolfe spat, "They don't deserve their life." He set a hand on Raven's head and muttered, "... They don't." His voice was sounding more tired than anything else now.
Raven still didn't say anything, just resting.
After a moment Wolfe began to stroke Raven's hair.
Raven didn't seem to mind. After a few more minutes he sighed. "Well, this isn't exactly how I expected a jaunt in the jungle to turn out," he said quietly, voice still a little shaky.
Wolfe continued to slowly stroke Raven's hair, "... I love you, Ra," he whispered.
Raven was silent and still for another minute or two before pulling away and pulling himself up onto the rock next to Wolfe. After a moment he brushed some of Wolfe's hair behind his ear before smiling a little. "I... love you too, Ryuji," he whispered back.
Wolfe nodded faintly, "I still want to kill him," he muttered but the heart was gone.
Raven patted Wolfe's head a little.
Wolfe sighed a little, giving in and squeezing Raven's hand. "That's no why you left the farm though, right?" he clarified quietly.
Raven shook his head.
Wolfe was awhile for awhile, "Your... positivity... is amazing," he confessed quietly.
Raven shrugged a little. "I don't like dwelling on the negative."
Wolfe managed a small smile, "I respect you for it," he replied quietly.
Raven smiled back, getting a little closer to him. "You know, you're really handsome when you smile," he told Wolfe.
Wolfe was silent for a long moment, "You know, we're still in the middle of the jungle," he replied quietly with a bit a tease.
"... I hadn't noticed," Raven replied with some tease in his own voice as his eyes glanced around at the trees.
Wolfe chuckled a bit.
"... You're laugh is really handsome too," Raven noted.
Wolfe paused a moment before full on glaring at Raven.
Raven looked rather taken aback. "... What?" he asked.
Wolfe's stare went back to normal, "What? My glare isn't handsome as well?" he asked, a smirk playing on the corners of his lips.
Raven blinked before laughing and pushing Wolfe lightly. "You're something else."
Wolfe liked that, seeming a bit smug.
Raven shook his head a little before leaning in for a kiss.
Wolfe let him.
-- Laurel shifted a little as she tilted her head up to look at Nic, "... Are you hungry?" she asked. |
Nic shook his head.
Laurel watched him for a moment, "Are you feeling unwell?" she asked quietly as she put a hand on his cheek, checking for fever.
There was no fever, but he was a little sweaty. It must have been left over from his dreams.
Laurel frowned slowly before starting to get up.
Nic didn't try to stop her, though he seemed a little reluctant.
So Laurel got up and disappeared into the bathroom. She returned quickly with a damp cloth and sat next to Nic on the bed.
Nic seemed a little confused. He didn't have a fever.
Laurel proceeded to wipe off his face and neck, getting rid of all the sweat. "How's you back feeling?" she asked after a moment.
"Fine," Nic replied quietly.
Laurel nodded a little, running a hand through Nic's hair. "I guess we both don't sleep well alone," she murmured.
Nic chose not to comment as he looked up at Laurel.
-- "Go ahead," Raven told Wolfe once they had gotten back to town and were preparing to leave. "I think I'll grab Frei some of that candy we tried." |
Wolfe pause for a moment, "She doesn't need another sugar daddy," he replied. He seemed to be getting better at this humor thing.
