I've never lived in a home where I'm allowed to. xD; But every time I visit a place I can, I relish in it. And well, I have a Texas outside with wasps on the balcony and muggy heat. Not ideal smoking environment.

I'm a courteous smoker. I'll stand ten feet away from someone who doesn't smoke, if we're together, I don't smoke around kids, or the elderly xD;..

lol And me im the same way...when one of those comes on im either already smoking or about to be....

Cigarettes have kinda always been in my life. I think everyone in my family's smoked at some point. Except for my lil' sis and I'm proud of her for that. I hope she never picks it up.

I laugh when some people come up to me and talk about peer pressure and how they're sad that I got pushed into it, but I picked up my first cigarette by choice. I just woke up one morning never around anyone who was smoking at the time and said "I want to smoke." So I did. I can't even really say I regret it all too much. It's really toned down the anxiety I had growing up.

Tho' I hate rude smokers. Like, it's your choice to smoke but doesn't mean you have to inflict it on other people. People who smoke around kids piss me off to no end. Even when I'm outside on campus at a designated smoking area, if a kid walks by I tuck the cigarette behind my back and even if I just took a drag I hold it in until the kid's passed by.

I rem. going to a pool/bar area once and this fucking stupid ass lady walks in (and we're ALL smoking) with her god damn baby in her arms, trots her in, and lights up a cigarette. It took so much effort not to deck that lady in the face. That's just stupid. Hell, even if my sisters around I always ask her if it's okay I smoke around her 'cause I know it gives her a headache, I generally don't but every so often I do and as long as I make sure she's far enough away from it she's fine it, which is sweet of her.

I just don't like people who are rude to me because of it. I'm tired of sitting at a table and having people walk by giving me this ugly ass look or yelling at me "smoking kills" or some other shit, especially when I'm outside. There's more shit coming out of your car exhaust than my cigarette. I just don't like how some people are on a high horse about it.

Or this one girl, oh if she'd done this to me I would've hit her. I had a class in high school with her and my history teacher (coolest fucker ever, I took regular world history with him and then took his medieval elective class) one day we were all juts chilling and he asked us how many of us smoked and we got into a convo about it and this one girl pipes up and says "I was walking one day, and I saw a guy smoking next to his girlfriend, I walked up to him, took the cigarette from his mouth and threw it away telling him that smoking is bad for you." That's just rude.

My parents smoked all through my child hood....I guess for me it was just a second nature thing...they would buy tubs and toobs and I would sit there rolling them smokes so they didnt have to do it...who says I didnt put some in my pocket here and there lol.

I would never force some one who dosent smoke to smoke and if they dont like the smell or the fact that I am smoking I will move just for them lol

Pinkie; I was the kid that brought my mom pamphlets about smoking. xD And then sure enough I picked it up. I never did anything like that but I found out a few years ago that my cousin would go through the ash trays and grab shorts and go smoke those. I never smoke around my family either, most of 'em quit when my late grandfather went to the hospital so whenever I go home to Finland for a few months I generally don't smoke unless I'm at a bar or something with friends and know I won't be home for a bit. Tho' other than my mom no one really knows I smoke.

Neirra; Yeah. I mean I smoke sometimes places I'm not supposed to but there's generally no one around to complain.

xD And lol, don't you know the rule? Smoke will always go to the non-smoker. Like when we're chilling on our apartment balcony one of my roommate doesn't smoke (tho' she's had a few here and there, I think she's just happy we don't judge her when she has the occasional cigarette when she's so against them) and without fail, everytime no matter which way I blow the smoke the wind picks up and throws it her way. I've gotten into the habit of fanning away my smoke every time I exhale. She tells me I don't have to but I still feel bad.

Because alot of people just dont care and those are the ones that take it to the extreme...one thing that borhters me the most about most smokers is that if im eating and they smoke around me while im eating...=shakes head-

Awwww I see...for me my father quit because he was forced to from the hospital when he got his quad bypass....mother quit some years after that just for my fathers sake lol...Im ashamed to say that I got my older sister to start smoking again...thats a long story lol. But my family was one of those with the parents smoking and looking to the kids "If you ever smoke I will kill you" So naturally you hide it lol...but the first day that my father bought me smokes was so weird...not as weird as the time I was out side having a smoke and my mother joined me smoking a cigar...that was just weird...

Pinkie; Haha, yeah, there's that. Tho' generally when we go out to eat me and my friends eat in the smoking section so we've kinda gotten over that. Tho' we try and time it to where we're all kinda ready for a smoke break before we start eating again.

Neirra; Tell me about it. And there's a lot of people out there that do that. Like, just because you're smoking doesn't mean that the rules to interaction with them change. They're still people.

Haha. I don't know why, but this convo just reminded me of my English prof. at my CC. Like at first I tried to make sure none of my teachers saw me smoking 'cause I like my teachers having a respectable oppinion of me, but after awhile me and her got into this routine of having a cig together in the mornings before class started. xD I rem. one morning it was raining and the off hand campus (and the main one too actually) had no covered smoking areas so we huddled against the door smoking and talking. xD;;

On that note, that's something I wish campuses would invest in. A covered smoking area. Like, I know they don't want to encourage smoking, hell some campuses refuse to have ash trays but the ones that do are ALWAYS cleaner than the ones that don't, but smokers will have a smoke in just about any weather and a lot of them will stay under non-designated areas in the rain to smoke 'cause there's not much else they can do.

And my mom was like that, then she found out. Kinda funny actually. She asked me what brand I smoked and I told her marlboro reds and she said "Great. Go straight for the ones that kill you." And in my head I was like "... mom... they all kill you." Like if I'd been smoking lights she'd be happier with me. xD She hasn't really quit tho', what she used to smoke she now spends on nicorette gum. =/

Haha, I can imagine that was weird. xD; I've got a few stories like that but never with my own parents, just my friends. Like when I first started smoking with my friends parents. Or on two separate occasions (although not cigs) I smoked weed with one of my friends mom's and then another one's dad. Surreal but fun.

Haha yeah same here though the issue I have is with the bf doing not the friends lol...hes a dink but I love him

Haha, and nah don't worry about it. I've just never been on a forum where someone got reprimanded for that. Generally the site owner wouldn't even get pulled into it. Not like it could count as endorsement. Generally the way the internet works is user responsibility, hell a simple reprimand, ban on that account or something would do fine if it go that insane. Just seems a little paranoid to me, but what do I know. xD; The only time I see that being a problem is shit like fb since there's a few bills trying to get companies legal rights to access your fb account and go through it. Which is BS.
