Hey, you can have mature content on here too as long as its not explicit. XD
|
What I mean is that recolor allows explicit.
Here allows PG-13 like every other website like this (Not that I'm complaining, just stating) |
Oh! That's what you meant. x'D Hm...that would be interesting, and someone also linked me a site that is strictly RPing as well. Decisions, decisions. ^^;
|
Well, the one I'm talking about is not strictly rping but it allows explicity stuff and the like.
|
Yeah, you were saying recolor, just someone I know wants me to join that RP site because she loves my RP ideas. x'D
|
If this is a feature that people would seriously be interested in, I'm open to discussing the matter with the staff. (It would probably require some sort of real-money access pass, not just runes, as a matter of complying with the law. We MIGHT be able to accept photos/scans of drivers' licenses.) If it's not actually that big of a deal to anyone, we'll keep it as-is.
|
I would be fine with it if it was a one time fee, or like a small yearly fee or something like that. But of course I'm assuming private information like that will be kept secured.
|
It would be a nominal one-time fee (like just a dollar) just for age verification. It'd last indefinitely. It's not there to make money; it's just there to ensure that we don't expose children to adult material (which we could get in trouble for).
We won't store that information anywhere, only a yes-or-no question saying that it was done. |
Well, it is an interesting idea. I'm on recolor as well, and it's stupidly easy to access adult things on there. I mean, you can filter them out, of course, but if you don't, they're mixed in all over the place.
I mostly like it because I don't have to feel bad about swearing. |
I'm liking the idea because of some of the RPs I do. ^^;
|
-shoves license at you...after I mark out my address-
While ya'll may not be creepy, creepy people exist XD It's not something I need...it's just...some people prefer those type of rps. XD I think recolor just has a thing, a check box, which of course people can lie about, but I think if the user lies, it shouldn't get the website in trouble. Should and what really would happen aren't always the same thing. |
Um..yeah, if you try looking up my address from my license you'll find out something interesting about my father and be deterred from being creepy. XD

I know if you go by my IP it will show a city at least 30 mins away....sometimes it will show a city across the state.
And that is why the address would be marked out XD |
Well yeah, I know better than to trust GeoIP databases for anything actually IMPORTANT. :P
Edit: Relevant: https://xkcd.com/713/ |
I think in urban areas, it might be more correct since the IP or whatever over the area wouldn't be as big.
You know what I mean? Like they need more addresses? there and so there wouldn't be as many miles covered by it (Do I even make sense?) |
lol, you could say that Coda, my dad is in the Army. XD
|
Got it in one! XD (I didn't want to be so specific as to say "Army" because "Marines" for example would have been good and you don't want to call a Marine a Soldier -- they don't like that ;) )
Yokuutsu, we need more IP addresses, but not because of geolocation -- fact is we're just about out, there's less than 4 billion possible IP addresses with the scheme accepted by most consumer hardware, and considering that we average more than one Internet-connected device per human on the planet... |
Well, they're starting to introduce a new thing? But that might just be website addresses? Idek.
|
No, there's IPv6, but it's hard to say they're "starting" to because the standard was ratified 19 years ago, and it's technically been usable since 2008, but the amount of traffic on the Internet that actually uses IPv6 is... I don't have exact figures but it appears to be less than 10%. Verizon didn't support it until 2009, T-Mobile didn't support it until 2012, and most home routers don't use it by default even if they could theoretically be configured for it. Only ~13% of websites can handle IPv6 traffic.
It's just depressing how slow this is moving. |
I hope nothing happens to this site. The art is so gorgeous.
|
I actually don't want anything to happen to this site either to be honest, even more so because of bad things going on on other sites I've been on/are still on. ^^;
|
Random, but a website is back up in open beta....and I'm watching it...it went down for a revamp, nothing was revamped, it was down for longer than it was supposed to be....because apparently college finals now pop out of nowhere and surprise students. Apparently they're not scheduled before the semester even starts anymore.
I don't have much hope, but I will wait, and watch. |
Yep, that site doesn't seem like it will be back or there for long if that keeps up. ^^;
|
I meant to say closed beta XD That's what I get for posting when sleepy.
Oh and it's the website where the dude stole a ton of money, was supposed to be working no longer on it, and people found he was posting stuff on his twitter showing he was working on it in the downtime. I'm waiting to see it burn really. I mean, before that guy, their administration hated it when you'd point out any problems. Like they had a dye system, it didn't work right, but I complained about how the item previews in the shop showing on your avatar were showing AFTER you dyed it some color they picked for it to preview as....the preview is what you're wanting to buy, not something you have to pay to get dyed (dying cost website currency, not bad, but annoying cause you have to figure out how they made the item that color)...once I complained about that, they were looking for a reason to ban me. For pointing out problems. Oh and joking with them (staff) can get you a temp ban...of course they were doing what I was joking about, but I assumed they weren't....until that happened. This has been a Yokuutsu rant, now back to your regularly scheduled thread. |
Yeah...not a site I'm going on either. *sigh* Makes em wish I could make a pet site with my friend KC. ^^;
|
And now that website is now open to the public again and nothing was changed during the downtime that I can tell.
|
Yeah, I don't think they are going to last. ^^;
|
Probably not, but I will watch it and see....they gave people with accounts from before the shut down 150 whatever their special money currency is.
|
Yep, definitely not going to last.
|
It's saddened me as well about sites shutting down. Makes me scared about mine but I'm not giving up.
I actually Googled a few of the sites that were mentioned here.. A lot of them, I couldn't find except for on Facebook and they just don't do much (to not even at all) announcements on their progress. It's sad. |
Well the one --- it was back up and then the server crashed/got wiped/something like that. So a bunch of excitement and then it pooped.
That other one Yoku was mentioning, I never had any interest in to begin with really. I think for awhile there a few years back they grew a bunch in number because people realized they could scam money out of others with them, it was like scandals left and right I recall. It's probably better there aren't so many now, we can really give trisphee a big push and be very appealing and get tons of members back, i think <3 |
Yeah, I noticed on Facebook that Eliudin or whatnot had his servers and databases completely wiped but haven't seen any responses since the 3rd. I fell bad for him and that scares me... I don't know what I'd do if any of my stuff was erased but then again, my coder keeps backups better than I do and for that I'm completely grateful for him.

Well, I don't know what the rules are on necroing....but since this place is a tad bit slow and I know this thread exists, I'll post it here.
Soon, Syndrone Online will be closing, there has been no communication with the owners or anything and the staff have no access to the money or anything to pay server fees. I wonder if emilibool or whatever is/was an owner of another website that I remember having problems with one of the owners.... |
necroing is fine, though personally I'd have just made a new thread about the downfall of Syndrone.
My impression is that Emiliobool is not someone especially interested in Avatar Sites. It was Pirwen who wanted it, and Pirwen who vanished without a trace. Emilio still exists, but does not care about it, so does other things. |
Well, to my knowledge the staff can't get ahold of EITHER of them .-.
I mean if emilio is still there, she should...or he? whatever, should give someone access to the money to pay for upkeep at least....so as long as the website takes in enough money, they can keep it going and all. |
Well, Emilio has the hosting, so he's paying for it, what ever the case.
Until he isn't, of course. |
Well, apparently he isn't because they're saying after this time is up, it's gone. Emilio has disappeared along with the other, no contact...so that leads people to be fairly safe to assume they're not going to pay the server fees. Because all they've have to do is shoot an email saying, paying the fees through -insert date-. I mean I doubt they want to talk too much about anything beyond are you paying the server fees and paying artists, which might just be getting paid through free items/special currency which, in that case, they don't need the owners for getting artists to make items. They just need them to keep payment methods open for monthly collectibles/paid currency...and to pay server fees. The staff, if good enough, can, in theory, handle the rest of it. Essentially, a silent owner that pays the bills. Or investor maybe? Depending on how you see it.
|
The time up thing is just speculation. Nobody really knows what the status of hosting is.
Based on conversations I've had, Emilio is definitely the one dealing with hosting, so it'll remain as long as he keeps paying it. And the users will know he stopped paying it when the site just poofs. It is a shame that they'd just let things go like that, though. Those avatars are so very nice. |
That's the only thing syndrone has going for it. The avatars.
https://syndroneonline.com/forums/vi...p?f=11&t=43461 Why would anyone pay for server fees, and not contact anyone in over a month to be like hey, yeah, still going pay that shit. Not saying the person won't continue paying, but communication is important in a business and it only takes two seconds to shoot an email saying I paid the fees up to -date- or I'm not going to pay bye. Either way, people are talking about what websites to go to if it happens, such as here |
