Raven listened quietly.

Toby grabbed a coconut type fruit and cracked it over, handing one half to Raven. "Drink the juice then fill 'er up!" he explained as he gulped down his own and filled the inside with the stew that was simmering over the fire. Everything was delicious, filling and sweet. It wasn't hard to imagine which friend of Wolfe's in particular liked Toby's fruit.

Raven did as Toby said and started eating his fill. He really seemed to enjoy it, but even after he was done he still seemed a bit weary.

Toby watched him for a moment, "Does Wolfe wear you out?" he suddenly asked between bites, "He seems the high rolling type."

Raven paused for a moment, not looking at Toby. "... It's not like that," he replied quietly.

Toby filled up his fruit bowl again, "Hm?" he asked, glancing at Raven as he ate.

Raven didn't say anything more. He wasn't sure exactly how much Wolfe trusted this man. He didn't want to cause Wolfe any more trouble.

Toby shrugged after a moment and put more food in Raven's bowl, "He needs to appreciate good dirt," he suddenly said, "Try to teach that to him. He's too techie," he said, a little disgusted.

Raven rolled his eyes a little. "I'm not sure if there's any way of changing that," he replied.

Toby didn't seem to believe him, "There's gotta be some country in that boy somewhere," he replied.

Raven sighed a little. "... Maybe when he stops going on missions he'll slow down long enough to find it."

"You don't seem like a missions kinda guy," Toby told him with a head tilt.

Raven shook his head.

"Then yer a good influence," he grinned.

Raven didn't say anything as he polished of the last of his helping.

Wolfe appeared to be asleep.

Toby smiled again, "Want to learn about dragon fruits?" he asked.

"Yeah," Raven replied before starting to clean up.

So they cleaned up and Toby went back to teaching Raven.

Raven went as long as Tony wanted to teach. But the weariness never left.

"Do you need a nap?" Toby finally asked, "I have some nice hammocks."

Raven shook his head. "I'm fine," he told Toby.

Toby raised an eyebrow but continued showing Raven different things.

Laurel finally released Nic's hand and stared at the rack of guns, "I hate secrets," she decided quietly, her eyes still misty.

Nic remained silent.

Another tear dripped down her cheek as she sniffed, "Wanna go... swimming?" she whispered, at least that would hide her tears.

Nic hesitated a moment before nodding.

Laurel rubbed her eyes with the back of her hand as she grabbed Nic's hand and intertwined her fingers.

Nic squeezed Laurel's hand a little.

"Carry me there," she whispered as she leaned her shoulder against his.

Nic paused a moment before gently picking up Laurel and grabbing her scooter before bringing Laurel to her room so she could change.

Laurel hid her face in his shirt. When he set her in her room she turned to him, "You should change too... I'll meet you at the pool," she told him in a tired voice.

"... Alright," Nic told her before letting her be. After a reasonable amount of time he arrived at the pool. He had on his same swimming shorts and wetsuit top.

Laurel was wearing a comfortable looking bikini. She was already in the shallow end, sitting on the steps with a distanced look.

So Nic went over to Laurel and sat beside her.

Laurel blinked as she realized he was there and glanced over at him, "You look good," she said with a little less heart than usual as she kissed his cheek.

Nic didn't mind as he kissed her cheek lightly back.

Laurel wrapped her arms around his neck before moving, trying to draw him further into the water.

Nic let her as he wadded deeper into the pool.

Laurel pressed her body closer to Nic's, allowing the water to carry her weight as she rested her head on his shoulder, "Should we dance?" she whispered.

"... Uh..." Nic muttered, stopping. They had just gotten in the pool and now she wanted to get out and go dancing?

Laurel started to sway in the pool, not catching his confusion. She hummed a bit, one of the tunes from the previous night.
