Melody stepped inside, peering over Alicia's shoulder, "You're really mad..aren't you?" She looked back, then pointed to the door with her thumbs, "I-I can always come back later..if you wish to continue to beat the crap out of him..or..could I perhaps throw a kick or two?"
|
"I was scared of him for two months. I have a right to be." Alicia crossed her arms. "Go ahead, just don't kill him." She nodded towards Holden. She held up her hand, "Just a sec." She walked to the coffee table and grabbed her glass of blood and moved back by the door. She nodded her head, sending Holden flying through the air and sending him through the coffee table with TK.
Holden laid on the floor holding his wrist, suddenly he found himself spinning in the air and slamming through the glass coffee table. He coughed up some blood as one of his ribs punctured his lungs. Alicia took a drink from her glass, "Go ahead Melody, now I'm done." She smiled darkly. "I'll heal him later." She took another drink. |
Melody waited, her fingers laced behind her back, "I've got time Alicia." She winced a bit as Holden went crashing through the table, "Oh, that looked like it hurt." When Alicia was finished, she stepped over, bringing her foot back and kicking him hard in the face, breaking his nose, "I can't believe you! You just up and abandon me just like my mother. Do you have any idea how that feels? To know your first and only friend doesn't even care anymore? I bet not, seeing as yours is currently kicking your ass!" She kicked him a few more times in the chest, then stomped her foot on his head before walking over to Alicia. She stood next to her, watching Holden with a soft smile, "'Kay..I'm done now."
|
Holden was fading in and out when Melody was stomping on him. His breastbone was shattered and he had a concussion.
Alicia sighed contently, "I should probably heal him, blood is pooling in his lungs." She set her empty glass on one of the stairs. She walked over to Holden and put her hand over his heart. After about five minutes she looked at Melody, "There he is healed." She stood up and crossed her arms. "Want something to eat or drink?" She walked closer to Melody. |
Melody shook her head, "No I'm fine. How long do you think he'll be unconscious?" She leaned up against the wall, crossing her arms over her chest.
|
"An hour, maybe more, maybe less." Alicia shrugged. "You did kick him pretty hard in the face." She chuckled. "We can go and watch TV, there is a TV in the actual living room." Alicia pointed with her thumb.
|
She shrugged, "Anything to pass time I suppose." She pushed herself off the wall, motioning for Alicia to follow the way, "I was mad..I can't help but hit him hard. You know what that's like." She laughed a bit, "He deserves more than that though.."
|
"Ya, but if a normal human went through all of that, they would be dead." Alicia sighed. She walked into the living room, "If you want I can show you how to use telepathy." She walked up to the liquor cabinet. She pulled out a bottle of tequila. She took a quick swig, and sat down on the couch. "You can watch whatever you want." She sighed.
Felix appeared, "Hey Alicia, Camelia sent me to pick up Holden's magic books." He crossed his arms. "They are upstairs, in his study." She pointed. "Ok." He disappeared. |
Melody looked over to Alicia as she sat down, "You can sense that? Mystic said he'd teach me as soon as 'I can play nice with Holden'. I tell you, he's so obnoxious sometimes.." She looked at the tv, grabbing the remote and flipping through the channels quickly, "Go figure, nothing's on..."
|
"I sense some demon in you, just like I sense some magic in Holden." Alicia sighed. "You'll notice that the older you get the more obnoxious men get. Especially when it comes to sex." She crossed her arms. "Some men think its all about them getting off, not you." She shook her head. "Sorry." She chuckled a little bit. She looked at her watch, "It's Friday afternoon, no wonder why there isn't anything on. Most kids are just getting home from school." She sighed. "I miss Oprah. Poor girl has been dead for three years." Alicia smiled.
|
"Oprah scared me...Nate Berkus is the best...too bad his show is on at 11, not 3." She sighed tossing the remote to the coffee table, leaning back in the couch. "Not really a tv person anyway though...I prefer to read."
|
"I like both, but we don't have many books. When we did they were mostly vampire books." Alicia sighed. "I was reading Gone With the Wind, for the millionth time. But Holden is laying on it right now." She chuckled. "I know a great bookstore, wanna go and buy some books? They also have some other books." She smiled.
|
She pointed to Holden with her thumb, "Think he'll be okay while we're gone?" She smiled a bit as she stood up, smoothing her skirt.
|
"Ya, he should be." Alicia stood up. "Anyway it has been a while since I've a shopping trip, even though its books." She chuckled. "Let's go girl." She grabbed Melody's arm and teleported them both away.
|
"Books are the best though," She closed her eyes as soon as Alicia grabbed her. She was still human enough to get nauseous with teleporting. That's what irritated her the most. She wished she could teleport herself, and not get sick if someone else teleported her. Stupid humanity.
|
Holden groaned as he tried to roll over. He cracked open his eyes, "Damn Alicia." He weakly sat up and spit out some blood. "I deserved that, but not being thrown through the table." He slowly stood up. He looked around and noticed he was alone. He grabbed his head, "Melody is quite strong." He started looking around for the broom and dust pan.
"Yes they are." Alicia appeared outside the bookshop. "You can get as many books as you want." She led Melody into the store. |
She hurried in before Alicia, "You shouldn't say that, I'll buy out the entire store~" She smiled, going over one of the walls, reading the bindings of the books. A few she pulled out and read the back cover and a few pages. After awhile, she would place it back with a frown; rather disappointed.
|
Alicia chuckled, "I don't mind." She walked over to one of the shelves and started to look over the books.
Holden smiled when he had the coffee table cleaned up. "Now my blood." He grabbed the bucket of warm water and vinegar, and started to clean up his blood. After a few minutes he pulled out a dry cloth and mopped up the excess water, he didn't want to destroy his beautiful hardwood floors. He smiled as he took the mixture and threw it outside on the grass. He dried out the bucket and went to take a shower. |
After what seemed like ages, Melody finally found Alicia, carrying only three books, "That's one thing I hate about small towns..small book stores with hardly anything in it. You ready?"
|
Alicia turned around holding about ten books, "Ya I'm ready. These are classics." She smiled as she walked to the counter. She placed the books on the counter.
Suddenly a man popped up from behind the counter, "Hello Alicia." He smiled. "So how have you been? I haven't seen you in awhile. I've kind of missed you." He winked. "Well Aaron, I have been busy." Alicia smiled. "And if you missed me so much you could of given me a call." She chuckled. "But that's right you prefer chocolate, not vanilla." She leaned on the counter. "I never said that, you just assumed. And you know what they say when you assume." He smiled slyly. "And who is your lady friend?" He asked raising his eyebrow slightly. "She is my friend Melody, and don't you dare she is only sixteen. Now ring us up sweety." She grabbed his chin and got really close to his lips. She smiled evilly when she saw him get red in the face. She let go of his chin. |
Melody set the books on the counter rather hard, "I can handle myself Alicia." She crossed her arms over her chest, glaring hard at the man called Aaron. She didn't like the feeling she got from him..it was..creepy.
|
"I know Melody." Alicia smiled. She grabbed the bags when he was done, "Now call me." She winked, as she grabbed Melody's arm. She walked out the door, "I love messing with humans." She giggled. "Ready?" She gathered up her power when she found a spot.
The man quickly rang up the books and gently put them in bags. "I will Alicia." He smiled as the two girls left his shop. |
She smiled, "It is rather amusing~" She double checked to make sure no one was around then nodded as she closed her eyes, "Yup."
|
Alicia smiled and teleported, they landed just inside Holden's house. She sighed hearing something going on in the kitchen. "Looks like Holden is up." She nodded towards the kitchen. "You better not make a mess Holden." She pinched her nose.
"Don't worry, jeez." Holden wiped the counter. "I made you something Melody, if your hungry." He smiled even though she couldn't see it. He started to sing 'Room of Angel' quietly. He walked out of the kitchen so Melody could see him, "Chicken Parmesan." He showed her and went into the dining room. Holden started to hum as he put the plates down. |
Melody opened her eyes, but shook her head, "No thanks..I'm not hungry." She clenched her fists a bit as he began to hum Room of Angels. She set her bag on the nearest coffee table and sat down on the couch. "I'm surprised you're conscious already..."
|
"Me to." Holden smile slightly. He suddenly looked out the window, "Son of a..." He trailed off as he ran to the wall. "This is why I had the spell around the house." He growled as he pulled away a panel on the wall. He tossed a katana at Alicia, "Paladin's. They didn't like that I was around vampires." He looked at Melody. "Do you know how to use a sword?" He grabbed two pendants and put them around his neck. Holden clipped a katana to his belt and handed one to Melody.
Alicia caught the katana, "Why now? Your human." She unsheathed the katana. |
She unsheathed the katana as she stood, "That's precisely why they're acting now Alicia..he was too strong beforehand.' It was common sense really. She swung the katana a few times, getting a feel for it's weight. "It's a bit lighter than what I'm used to, but I'll live."
|
"Melody's right, now these pendants have enough power in them for a few spells." Holden sighed. "They are still human, so your two's increased speed should be able to help you." He looked around feeling power rising around him. "Damn it!" He mutter something to put a shield around Alicia and Melody, he got blown backwards. He slammed into the wall, "Fuck! Alicia, Melody take the front I have the back." He said jamming his sword in the air as a Paladin materialized. The sword went right through the Paladin's neck.
Alicia nodded and hissed as a Paladin appeared behind her, she ducked down and swung her katana up. Holden ducked down, "Do not drink their blood Alicia!" He yelled as he swung his foot and knocked the Paladin down. He then jammed the katana into the Paladin's heart. |
Melody swung her sword with her right hand, bringing it up then slicing it down on a Paladin as he materialized in front of her, "I don't need you to protect me Holden..worry about yourself." She pulled the sword from the man's shoulder, doing a spin and ramming it in his chest. "How many of these idiots do you think they're are?" She pulled a glock from the holster under her skirt, dragging the slide along her hip to cock it. She pointed it at a Paladin that appeared behind Holden, shooting him in the back of the head; had it been the front her aim would've been dead center in his forehead.
|
Holden flinched when the person's dead body flopped on him. He growled and spun around slicing the four Paladin's that appeared around him throats. "A lot and Ilistan will probably show." He pulled a knife from his back and threw it at the Paladin that appeared behind Alicia. The knife hit the Paladin in the back of the head.
Alicia swung her blade downwards as a Paladin appeared. "Thanks Hol..." She trailed off as she got pushed forward with a blast of TK. |
Melody dropped her gun as she felt an invisible force wrap around her arm, squeezing it so tight she thought her arm would break. She was brought to her knees as the force pulled her arm down. The Paladin manipulating the telekinesis appeared, bringing his sword down at her head. She quickly brought the katana up, jabbing it into his abdomen and bringing him to his knees as well, "Well then I suggest one of you call someone to help us.." She stood once her arm was free, wincing a bit as she moved it; she could feel a few fractures in there.
|
Holden suddenly got a boot in the chest, "Solomon!" He yelled in his head. He felt a force wrap around his head. Suddenly a voice boomed telling the Paladin's to stop. He weakly stood up after all of the Paladin's stopped. He screamed out as his arm snapped in half.
Alicia sighed as the Paladin she was fighting stopped attacking. "Please don't tell me that was IIlistan." She tried to move to Holden but found that she couldn't move. Suddenly a white hared man appeared behind Holden, "Bene bene bene continetur. Fecisti dolore magna elit. Usura gladios magna meorum hominum. (Well well well, Holden. You did a great job here. Using swords to kill most of my men.)" The man said locking Alicia and Melody down to the floor. The remaining Paladin's disappeared. Holden snarled, "Shut up Ilistan, I know you are just pulling Latin out of my head to sound smart." He weakly stood up. He turned around, "If your going to kill me do it fast." He moved his non broken arm behind his back. He moved his lips ever so slightly, and Melody's gun appeared in his hand. Ilistan laughed, "Holden, I am smart. I'm 500 years old, your what? Twenty one?" He laughed again. Suddenly a sword appeared through Holden's abdomen. "You were stupid to have your powers ripped from your soul. Now I can kill you." Suddenly a white sword appeared in his hand. "I'm twenty three jackass." Holden fell to his knees as the sword went through his abdomen. The gun was still in his hand, he quickly brought it in front of him and shot at Ilistan. |
Solomon dropped his book as he heard Holden's voice in his head. His katana appeared in his hands and he quickly ripped the sheathe from the blade and disappeared. He reappeared where he sensed Holden, his eyes glowing red with fury as he gathered up a powerful blast of telekinesis launching it at Ilistan. He held his sword defensively in front of him, "Alicia, get Holden and Melody somewhere safe...perhaps Mystic's house would be best."
Melody closed her eyes tight as the Paladin's sword came down on her, but after a few seconds, she didn't feel it cut her skin. She cracked open an eye to see the Paladin had vanished. She stood, holding her arm with a wince as Solomon appeared, This is why Mystic needs to teach me telepathy...I could've called him before Holden got hurt. |
Ilistan quickly dodged the bullet and went to attack Holden, before he could hit Holden he got sent to the left and into the wall. His binding spell broke, his eyes glowed dark blue. "So unfair Holden, you call a half of a millennium vampire to fight me." Ilistan stood up and crossed his arms as he made another sword appear through Holden's abdomen.
Alicia felt the hold on her break, she quickly jumped to Melody. Before she could get to Holden another sword went through his abdomen. "Damn it." She whispered as she closed her eyes to gather enough power to pull Holden with her and Melody. Her eyes turned red as she opened them, suddenly the trio disappeared, and landed about five feet in front of Mystic. "He is one of the most powerful vampires I know. That's one of the reasons I..." Holden trailed off as the second sword went through his abdomen. Suddenly he started to cough up blood. Before he knew it he was in a weird looking room. He gasped for air as his lung was punctured from the movement of the teleportation. Alicia kneeled down next to Holden, "I'm sorry for popping in here but Solomon told me to." She glanced at Mystic but quickly looked back at Holden. "Shh Holden, just relax. I will get these swords out, I promise." She put her hand on Holden's chest and concentrated. |
Mystic swatted Alicia's hands away, "Dammit girl shoo." He sighed, "Don't touch them...who knows what sort of magic is wired into these things?" He sighed, looking to Melody, "Shut up, I know." He looked back to Holden, re-inflating his lung and keeping both clear of blood while he analyzed the swords.
Melody crossed her arms and flopped onto the couch, crossing one leg over the other, "Damn right I am." Solomon narrowed his eyes rooting Ilistan to his spot with powerful telekinetic binds. Suddenly he appeared in front of Ilistan, shoving the sword forward, "I have had just about enough of you damn Paladins." |
Holden coughed when his lung re-inflated, "The swords are just regular swords." He started coughing again. "Ilistan isn't that smart." He started to get a pain all through his body. "Maybe he got smarter since I last saw him." Holden started to shake as pain ravaged his body.
"Well vampire, Holden will be seeing more of us. Now that you killed me." Ilistan winced as the sword entered his heart. His head fell forward as the life went out of him. Alicia sighed as Mystic shoved her away, she stood up and analyzed herself. She didn't have any injuries, she walked over to Melody. "Are you ok?" She moved to the side so Melody could see Holden if she wanted to. |
Melody nodded, "Yeah, I'm fine. I think my arm was fractured though. Could you check?" She lifted her left arm a bit so Alicia could grab it gently.
Mystic nodded after a moment, "I just wanted to make sure Holden, but you're right..nothing special about these ones." Without warning, he swiftly pulled the blades from Holden's body, quickly healing his wounds once the metal was clear. "You alright?" Solomon sighed as he let go of the sword, the wall keeping Ilistan's body in place, "Unfortunately..." After a moment, he pulled the sword out, ramming his hand into Ilistan's chest and ripping out his heart. He wrapped some telekinesis around the muscle and forced it to explode. With another sigh, he wiped the blood from his sword onto the Paladin's clothes; the sheathe appearing in his open hand. He sheathed the sword then teleported to Mystics house. |
Holden gasped for air when he felt Ilistan die, "Sh..-she's coming... She knows... Get me out of here Mystic, now! Please!" His eyes were wide, as fear came over his body. "She's going to kill me! Yo-..you don't want me here!" He started looking around feeling power wrap around him.
Alicia nodded and gently grabbed Melody's arm. She closed her eyes and analyzed her arm. She healed Melody's arm, "It was fractured, very close to being broken." She looked at Holden as he started freaking out. |
She blinked watching Holden, "He really doesn't get it? This is probably one of the safest places. Mystic's so damn paranoid he's got all kinds of spells surrounding this place.."
Mystic grabbed Holden and hauled hi off the table to his feet, his power lashing out at the force around him, "Holden, there's no way I'm letting you out of my sight until this stupid mess blows over or gets taken care of." He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose, "And before you ask me why, don't. I have many reasons." |
Suddenly a black hared woman appeared in Holden's eyes, "My darling Holden. Why did you go against my teachings?" She sent a shock over Holden's body.
Holden's eyes got wider as he could see the woman, "I-..I'm sorry mistress. Please don't..." He trailed off as his body shook. "You have wronged me Holden, and I must kill you." She sent a burst of power to Holden's heart. "I'm sorry I wronged you mistress." He seized as the power reached his heart. "Your not sorry Holden, you broke our contract. You will die." She smiled evilly in Holden's eye. She moved her hands. Suddenly Holden's chest cavity split open. He cried out in pain, "Please don't mistress..." Alicia was confused as Holden started talking out loud, to apparently a woman. She jumped back when his chest was split open. Camelia suddenly appeared, "Damn it Holden! I told you not to get involved with her." She growled. "She is a negative seven Holden!" She made the woman disappear from Holden's mind. "I...I didn't have a choice." Holden stammered out. "She had Amanda's soul. She was gonna destroy her soul forever. I couldn't let that happen." He winced as Camelia healed his chest. "But that doesn't matter, because I supposedly didn't fulfill the contract." Holden winced again. |
