Serus smiled a bit, helping him to his feet then hugging him, "You're lucky to have him though. You might not think so now, but one day, he'll be there when no one else can. Trust me." She held him for a moment, before speaking again, "Don't worry about how he does things, he has his reasons. Besides, he did get one thing right." She let him go, flipping some hair away from her face and answering his question before he could even think o fit, "He called me pretty. That's always a plus." She smiled a bit.

"You are more than pretty, you are gorgeous." Seth said with a smile. "I don't know," Seth sighed. "Let's go out and do something." Seth said as he grabbed Serus.

She smiled a bit, kissing his cheek, "If you have an idea as to what to do, I'm all for it. I haves no ides myself." She looked at her pocket watch, "Oh! I got one! Let's go get Annemarie. I think she'll be getting out of class soon, right?"

Seth looked at Serus' watch. "Ya in about 15 minutes. Let's go get her." Seth said as he teleported them to a spot where no one could see them. Seth grabbed Serus' hand. Seth walked up to the front of the school. "She should be out any minute." Seth said as he looked at his watch.

She smiled, following alongside Seth, "Do you plan on telling her right now? Or..later on?" She looked towards the school with a cringe. So many humans..not to mention, teenagers. The worst kind. She couldn't help but chuckle at the thought.

"I will tell her soon." Seth said as he noticed Serus cringe. "They are just human they wont hurt you." Seth said with a chuckle.
The bell rang and Annemarie could sense that Seth was here to pick her up. She quickly packed up her stuff and ran out to see Seth. "Daddy!" Annemarie yelled as she jumped up at Seth. "Hey hunbun." Seth said as he caught her. "How was school?" Seth asked as he grabbed Serus' hand again. "Hi mommy." Annemarie said as she went to hug Serus. "It was boring, I don't wanna come back." She said crossing her arms. "You have to, you don't know everything also we need you to be smart cause you are gonna be a big sister." Seth said as he walked them to a spot where they could teleport home. "I'm gonna be a big sister?" Annemarie asked. "Yes you are." Seth said with a smile. "Yay!" Annemarie said excitedly. |
Serus smiled as Annemarie came running, in the past few months she's gotten to like the girl a bit. "Afternoon, sweetie." When they were back at Seth's house, she looked around, sensing something was off about the area. Unable to place it, she let it slide, hoping Seth didn't notice the glancing around. "Now, about that vacation Seth, I think that I can manage to sneak away from the Council for a week. We could even bring Annemarie, of course."

"Ok, umm where shall we go I am thinking Hawaii." Seth said as he put Annemarie down.
Ten years later... The Augustin coven finally found its leader in Felix. Felix was running the coven very smoothly. Seth had his hands full with Annemarie being 16 and the twins. He was still on the council but was home more taking care of everything. Annemarie is 16 now she has mastered all of her powers that she has at the moment. Sean was talking to Seth a lot and they were actually starting to get along. |
Serus yelled out as the vase fell from the end table. She tried to catch it, but was too late. "Aria Lynn Antinori!" She clenched her fist, but didn't move. "I told you, to be careful when practicing your telekinesis...and to only do it outside or in the area. There are very valuable objects up here." She pinched the bridge of her nose with one hand, and placed her other on her hip.
Aria winced as she heard her mother yell, "I'm sorry mom! I was surprised by that." She pointed to a small black spider hanging in front of her. "Out of no where it was trying to ambush me!" Suddenly the spider exploded, "There. No more spider." Aria stepped back slightly, "Thank..you?" Serus went over to Aria, "Just please be careful next time? If you have to, just break a window, alright?" She ruffled Aria's brown hair, pulling her ribbon until it became untied and disappeared. Aria quickly threw up her hands, but was too late. Her mother already stole her hair ribbon. "Hey!" She pursed her lips and scrunched her nose up in a pout, waiting for her mother to reappear somewhere. Now, she hadn't mastered the art of teleporting, and was nervous to use it, but she was still quick. When she could sense her mother in the room down the hall, she quickly ran over. "Give that back!" she said as she burst into the room. Serus laughed, sitting atop the bookcase, hunched over so she didn't hit the ceiling. "You have to come take it from me~" |
Seth walked out of his room. "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!" Seth yelled when he saw the broken vase. He looked at his watch. "She's late." "Annemarie where are you?" Seth asked as he teleported downstairs. He looked out the window to see her kissing a boy. "Son of a..." Seth said as he opened the door. "Annemarie Serus Elisabeta Augustin get your butt in this house. Now!" Seth yelled as he pointed to the floor.
"Dad! Why must you be a jerk all of the time?" She asked as she entered the house. "I'm a jerk? You are the one who was making out with a boy that I told you, that you can't see." Seth said feeling like he wanted to teleport away. "But dad!" She wined. "Don't you but dad me young lady." Seth said feeling like he was going to have a heart attack, if his heart was beating that is. "Now go do your homework." Seth said as he pinched his nose. "Serus where is the scotch?" Seth asked walking into the kitchen. "Hey kiddo at least you know where to hide." Seth said looking at Lexie and then in the cupboard. "I can't hide cause you all would be able to find me." Seth said with a smile. |
Lexie looked up from her homework as her father came into the kitchen, "I think you might have to break those two up again. They're breaking stuff and making a lot of noise. It's hard to focus on this." She shut her eyes as something else fell to the floor and made a thump. "Please daddy? I really want to get my homework done so I can have fun the rest of the night." She gave him the begging eyes.
Aria scrunched up her nose, jumping on the table and up at the bookcase. She grabbed onto the ledge, but felt it falling forward. "Ahh!" She kicked off the bookcase as it fell, crashing to the floor with a loud thump. She landed on her butt, looking around for her mother. "Come on mom! I hate it when you do this.." Serus disappeared as she felt the bookcase move, appeared out in the hall, "But, I like it." She winked and waved the ribbon in the air. Next thing she knew, Aria had tackled her to the ground, pulling the ribbon from her hands. Serus frowned, poking Aria's forehead lightly, "You ruin the fun. Not to mention, your dad is going to be pissed you broke another book case." |
Seth sighed, "Ok kiddo, I will be right back." Seth said as he teleported to the study he could sense Aria and Serus in. The room was in total disarray. "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?" Seth yelled as he saw another bookcase broken. "Serus!?" Seth yelled as he opened up to door. He saw them on the floor. "Aria go do your homework now. I will talk to you when your done. Serus room now." Seth said pointing downstairs with one hand and his room on the other.

Aria yelped in surprise, "Yes daddy!" She quickly scurried out of the room and downstairs to finish off her homework.
Lexie looked over as her sister came in, "You really got him mad this time Ari." She shut her book with a sigh, "If you need help, let me know. I'm going to watch some tv." With that, she stood and left the table. Serus quickly flipped to her feet, brushing off her dress, "Don't you get th--" She quickly nodded and teleported to his room. She bit her lip, knowing this would be about the bookcase. This was about the 3rd one they've knocked over. "Come on now Seth, a little break in between assignments is necessary." |
Seth teleported into his room and block all of the sound from leaving the room. "Yes a break in between assignments is good but it doesn't mean break my bookcase." Seth said pointing at the study. "I.. Gah... Grr." Seth started to say but got really angry. "I got to go I will be back later." Seth said as he teleported to the coven's house.

Serus was about to say something when he disappeared. She pinched the bridge of her nose again, "I can easily replace it Seth," she said to the empty room. She then went downstairs to make sure Aria was doing her homework. "How's it coming, hun?"
"Fine..just doing some math right now. It's easy. Oh hey, after I'm done, do you think we can work on my teleporting? I would really like to get that under control." "We'll see..." She leaned on the counter, using her hands to support her as she looked at the ceiling, "I mean, really it's just a bookcase." "It's the fact that you two are so alike that's the issue." Serus looked over as Jaelynn appeared, "Well that's not my problem." "Actually, it is. I'm so glad I got Dad's personality traits. I don't think I could handle being so..." She motioned to Serus, "you.." Serus gave her a flat stare, "You just motioned to all of me..." She winked, "Exactly. Either way, I love you nonetheless. I would just suggest taking those antics to the arena or outside." Serus punched Jaelynn lightly in the shoulder, "You wouldn't be able to handle my awesome personality traits. Either way, it was spontaneous. You can't prepare for that." |
"Hello Seth." Felix said when he saw Seth appear.
"I just don't fucking know anymore Felix, they broke another bookcase." Seth said as he opened the liquor cabinet. "Isn't that the third one this month?" Felix asked as he took a sip of blood. "Yes, yes it is." Seth said as he poured himself a glass of scotch. "I don't know Felix I love Serus and Aria but they are just to alike it is like," Seth threw his hands up in the air. "I don't know." Seth said as he chugged the scotch. "Seth you need to breath. Just calm down have another drink and go back home." Felix said as he got up. "Felix you know we don't breath." Seth said trying to lighten up. "You know what I mean." Felix said with a chuckle. "Ya I do." Seth said with a deep sigh and started to pour another glass. "Good now finish that and go home to your family." Felix said as he pat Seth on the shoulder. Seth drank the glass. "Thank you Felix." Seth said as he put down the glass and grabbed the bottle. "I'm taking this." Seth said as he teleported home. "Seth!" Felix said but was to late he was gone. Seth arrived in the kitchen, "Hey Jae." Seth said holding the bottle of scotch like it was a new born. "Aria dining room now please." Seth said walking to the dining room. |
Jaelynn waved, obviously pausing mid-lecture to Serus, "But you can influence it Serus. And knowing you, you can do that very easily. Is it so hard to teleport to the area and dick around down there? Honestly, you have got to stop this. Seth's not the only one irritated at this."
Aria nodded, quietly sulking out the room, looking up at her father, her hair covering her eyes a bit. Serus sighed, "I know, but..you know me. I don't get to 'dick around', as you call it, anymore. And when I can, I just..can't help myself. I used to do the same thing with you when you were younger. We would have so much fun.." She smiled, trailing off. "And that's what drove dad insane as well. You have a knack of doing that. You better knock it off before you drive Seth away as well. I know you two love each other more than anything, he can only handle one 'Serus', as with the rest of us." She placed a hand on Serus's shoulder, "Really..stop." Serus let out a groan, "Why is it that I'm always being lectured by you or Felix? Aaahh, very well. I will try to cut down on the destruction. But you know, 10 years without someone to kill is very boring. I have nothing else to do but deal with everyone else's whining..." Jaelynn shook her head with a laugh, "Well, if you weren't some dumbass would be Council Head and we would not be were we are now. We'd be in a world of chaos like before." |
Seth sat down. "Ok kiddo, you know I love you right?" Seth waited for her response. "I want you to try and settle down, ok if you wanna play with your mother go out into the arena." Seth said moving her hair out of her face. "Ok?" Seth asked kissing her on the forehead.

Aria nodded, trying to not cry, "She started it..she's always taking my ribbon and running off with it." She touched it, just to make sure it was still there.
Serus nodded, "Yeah..I know..Ah crap..apparently, I'm needed." She hugged Jaelynn, "See you later. Oh! Afterwards, I want you to update me on the Coven. I haven't heard a report in awhile." With that, she disappeared. Jaelynn sighed a bit but nodded, "Of course." She left the kitchen, heading into the dinning room where Seth and Aria were, "Serus got called in..she hopes to be back for dinner." |
"Come here." Seth said as he opened his arms. "Thanks Jae. Wanna have a drink?" Seth asked pointing at the bottle. Seth gave Aria a hug. "If you have homework go and finish it ok." Seth said as he went to grab a couple glasses out of the cupboard.

Aria nodded, hurrying back to the table to continue her homework. It would not take her long to do.
Jaelynn nodded, "Aw hell, why not. Want to know something strange?" She followed Seth, her hands clasped behind her back, "I've never had alcohol before. In over 400 years, not a drop." She laughed, "Luckily, I can't get drunk now that I'm a vampire. I'd be so embarrassed." |
"Ha I wish I could get drunk. Seth said as he poured a little bit for Jaelynn. "Help me Jae I feel like I am trapped, its the same thing almost everyday Serus and Aria break some thing then they break something bigger and I find myself drowning my self in scotch." Seth said as he walked into the other study. "Also Annemarie is just all over the spectrum. I just don't know what to do anymore, really there is only one child that is good all of the time and that is Lexie." Seth said as he blocked the room off from any of the children. He took a seat and drank the rest of his glass of scotch. He opened a secret compartment on the wall to grab another bottle of scotch.

Jaelynn laughed, blocking their voices from leaving the room, "Seth, really, you need to stop. Serus is just enjoying herself again. Her and I would do the same thing when I was younger..and it also drove my father nuts. It's not just you, trust me." She downed a shot wincing at it's taste, "Ick! How can you drink this!?" She set the empty shot glass down, not daring to refill it.
"Serus doesn't get to have..fun anymore. You are on the council, but your duties are a lot easier than hers, no offense. Sometimes, I sense her stress levels get so high, if she were human, she'd have died of a heart attack years ago." She followed him to the study, placing her hand gently on his shoulder, "It's just her release, unfortunately. Just be thankful, I guess, that she's not out getting herself hurt. I'm sure things will let up." Suddenly there was a noise and the two girls screamed. After a few moments of silence, there was laughter and running around. Kitra let out a snarl, chasing after the girls, "When I get my hands on you two!" She lunged forward, grabbing Lexie, who quickly slipped from her grasp. "Oh my...is there ever a quiet moment in your house?" |
"You get used to it." Seth said with a slight smile. Seth sighed. He heard Kitra in the living room. "Please I wish." Seth said very frustrated. "Why twins I will never know." Seth said as he teleported to the living room. "Kitra can you please not do that?" Seth asked as he pinched his nose. "I don't know I swear sometimes I wish I would of died." Seth said under his breath, and walking out of the room.
"Annemarie what do you want for supper?" Seth asked knowing that she wouldn't answer him. "Just fucking great." Seth said as he opened up the door. "What do you want Sean?" Seth asked extremely annoyed. "Can't I come and see my brother and nieces?" Sean asked with a smile. "They are in the living room." Seth said opening the door and letting Sean in. "I am going to take a shower so you three be good while I am in there." Seth said to all of the kids. |
Aria jumped onto Kitra's back, knocking her to the floor, "Who do you think you are?! Give that back! Mommy gave that to me!" Her tiny hands came around Kitra's neck, grabbing at the little bow in her hands.
Kitra laughed, grabbing Aria with her free hand and flinging her to the couch, "Oh I don't think so. Your mom told me you have to take it back. And that you're supposed to practice your telekinesis while we're at it. Both of you." She teleported outside, crouching in a tree, waiting. Lexie and Aria hurried outside, glaring up at Kitra as they tried to slice the tree in half. Jaelynn sighed, her hands shaking as she rubbed her temples, "Lord help me. I pray I never have to babysit them." She looked around, hunting down Annemarie, crossing her arms, "You and I need to talk Anne." |
Seth heard the twins outside. "For goodness sake." Seth said as he got in the shower. "I just wish I could curl up in a ball and die." Seth said as he hit his head on the wall, cutting himself. "Great." Seth said as he saw his blood drip on the shower floor.
"Damn it dad." Annemarie said grabbing her head. "What do you want Jaelynn?" She asked not even looking up from her magazine. |
"I'm not here to lecture you Annemarie, but really, what the hell?" She crossed her arms, closing her eyes and shuddering at the noises outside. "They're just like her.." She quickly calmed herself, opening her eyes, "What is going on with you? I don't understand why you've...turned out like this. I'm not trying to pry, or be nosy, but is there something bothering you?"
Kitra jumped down from the tree as it began to fall backwards. She landed hard on the ground, rolling to prevent her bones from breaking. She quickly stood and ran away as Aria chased her. Lexie remained, pondering for a moment. Her mother said that her brain was her greatest asset. Her face beamed as an idea came to her head. She brought her hands up with a stomp, sending four walls of earth around Kitra and Aria. "Oopsie! Sorry sis!" Aria grinned, taking the ribbon from Kitra as they were trapped by four earthen walls, "I win!" She stuck out her tongue and tied the ribbon back in her hair as the walls suddenly crumbled. |
Seth got out of the shower. "Really Lexi? That was quite good." Seth said to himself as he dried off. Seth got dressed and walked down stairs. "Time to start supper I guess." Seth said as he looked at his watch.
"Nothing's wrong other than it seems like dad is always yelling at me. The twins are taking away all of the attention. "It also feels like I never see dad." Annemarie said holding back tears. |
Jaelynn frowned, sitting next to Annemarie, "They are a handful, but it's not only their fault. A lot has been going on between covens and the council has to get involved before something bad happens." She shuddered, unable to believe she was going to offer this. "How about.." she began through clenched teeth, "I take the twins for a week...so you can..have some time..with..Seth" Her eye twitched as she tried to fake a smile.
Kitra sighed, "Darn, you're awfully quick for your human stage. Congratulations. Now then, Lexie, you and I have some work to do. From what your mother says, you have some emotion abilities." Lexie hurried over and nodded, "Mmmhmm...she calls it..umm..empathic manipulation..or something." She followed Kitra to the patio, sitting down with her. "Can you do that too?" Aria scrunched her nose and stomped off inside. She went into the kitchen, sensing that's where her father was off to. When he got there, she smiled, "Can I help? Kitra is helping Lexie with her powers." |
Seth walked into the kitchen and jumped a little when Aria talked. "Of course you can kiddo." Seth said with a smile. Seth grabbed the stuff to make meatloaf. "Here you cut the onion." Seth said putting the onion in front of Aria. "Now be careful with the knife." Seth said as he put the knife down in front of her. "How is your telekinesis coming along?" Seth asked as he cut some garlic.
"I don't think dad and mom would say ok to that, and I know you really don't want to do that." Annemarie said as she crossed her legs. "Maybe dad can take the day off tomorrow and me and him can talk and catch up. Do you think he would go for that?" Annemarie asked. |
Jaelynn let out a huge sigh, "God I'd kill myself if I had to watch those two. More than likely, he would. I can take his spot on Council for a day or so if you guys wanted to take a small vacation. Serus wouldn't mind. I think he'd really enjoy a little vacation. Yeah?"
Suddenly Serus's voice echoed in the room "You love them and you know it Jae..don't lie" Aria nodded, picking up the knife and carefully cutting the onion. She sniffled a bit as the fumes made her eyes water, "Daddy, why do onions make you 'cry'?" |
"To tell you the truth I really don't know." Seth said with a smile as he put the garlic in the bowl. "Listen kiddo I am sorry for yelling at you like I did earlier today." Seth said as he put the rest of the ingredients in the bowl. "You are just so much like your mother." Seth said looking at her. "I just want you to be less destructive," Seth laughed. "Soon after me and your mom met two people attacked us on my coven's roof and she totally destroyed the attic." Seth said whipping away a tear. "Oh boy, fun times." Seth said looking at Aria. "Crap." Seth said to himself. "Sean are you staying for supper?" Seth asked feeling sorry that Kitra took over the twins.
"Really Jaelynn you would do that?" Annemarie asked very excited. "I am sure he would." Annemarie said with a smile. |
Jaelynn nodded, "Of course my dear. To tell you the truth," she leaned in and whispered, "you're my favorite niece. Those two drive me so insane..they're so much like our mother." She leaned back with a slight laugh, "Love my mother as much as I do, she can get rather obnoxious with her habits fairly quickly."
Aria tilted her head, "Really? You seem like you know everything else. Maybe I'll ask my science teacher." She smiled a bit, "Nah, ah, it's all mommy's doing. She made me jump at the bookcase. She took my ribbon again." She tensed a bit as he mentioned the Raksasha's, "The scary vampires? The one's that..really hurt mommy?" |
"I do know a lot but just not much stuff about food." Seth said with a smile. "I need to talk to her about that. She needs to stop picking on you so much." Seth said as he messed up her hair. "Ya those vampires." Seth said a little upset now. "Anyway it doesn't matter what is in the past is in the past." Seth said putting on a weak smile. "Since you brought up school, how is it going? Are you making any friends?" Seth asked wondering as he stirred the meat.
Annemarie hugged Jaelynn. "Thank you." She said with a smile. "If its ok I am going to go talk to him now." She said as she got up. |
She hugged her back, "Perhaps you should wait until after dinner? It's up to you though, you know him a lot better than I do." She smiled slightly, standing up and smoothing out her dress.
Aria giggled, fixing her hair with her hands, "Yeah, you tell her. It's mean. School? Meh, it's alright. No one really talks to me or Lexie..." She looked down, setting the knife on the counter, "They get all..weird around us. Is it because of..what we are?" Lexie came into the kitchen with a smile, Kitra trailing behind her, "Daddy! Look what I can do!" She grabbed onto his hand, the feeling of anger slowly overcoming him. She quickly removed his hand, the feeling subsided, "Kitra taught me! She said anger is the easiest, so we started with that." She twirled around, grabbing her sister and pulling her into the living room to watch some TV. Kitra sighed, leaning on the door jam, "Serus isn't paying me enough to teach that child. She has the attention span of a gnat. Both of them. How can you tolerate it?" |
"It possibly could be, but sometimes human's are just weird." Seth said as he put the meatloaf in the oven and washed his hands. "What's that?" Seth asked as he felt his anger rising."I hate that." Seth thought to himself as Lexi pulled Aria into the living room. "Alcohol helps." Seth said as he turned around. "I'm just kidding." Seth said shaking his head no. "Anyway are you staying for dinner Kitra?" Seth asked as he grabbed some plates. "Jae are you staying for dinner?" Seth asked still waiting for Kitra's answer.
"Ya your right." Annemarie said fixing her hat. "I guess I can go and watch TV with the twins." She said kind of grimacing. |
"Just punch Aria in the shoulder if she starts to annoy you. That's what I do..and so far Serus hasn't killed me yet." She laughed, "Nah, I've got a few things to work out back at the Coven." With that, she hugged Annemarie again and disappeared.
Kitra shook her head, "Sorry, but I can't. I've got plans with my own kids tonight." She smiled weakly, "Perhaps another time." She waved and disappeared. |
"Ok Kitra have fun." Seth said as she disappeared. "Ok I will see you later Jae." Seth said as he felt her leave. "Hey Annemarie can you come down and help me set the table?" Seth asked hoping for a response.
"I will." Annemarie said hugging Jaelynn back. "Sure I will be right down daddy." She said walking out of her room. "Did she just call me daddy?" Seth said to himself a little stunned. |
There were a few squeals form the living room as the twins began to fight over the remote. Aria let out a a loud scream as Lexie punched her in the shoulder. She muttered a bit, but didn't go for the remote again. "Why does everyone hit me?"
Lexie laughed, her nose scrunching up a bit, "Mommy said so~" She quickly turned on Cartoon Network, gasping with amazement. "No wwaaaayyy! I never thought I'd get to see Family Guy!" Aria was instantly plastered to the tv. Their mom had told them about this show, but unfortunately it was canceled many years ago. "Reruns are the best" |
"Hey you two no fighting." Seth said as he reached up for glasses. "I swear if I were human those two would of killed me by now." Seth said as he felt Annemarie enter. "Hey Annemarie." Seth said with a smile.
"Hey daddy." She said looking down at the floor. "What's wrong?" Seth asked as he looked at her. "I remember when you said that about me." She said with a little tear. "Oh hunbun you still are and always will be the one who would of put me in the grave first if I was human." Seth said as he gave her a hug. "Its been awhile since you called me hunbun." She said crying as he hugged her. "Its been awhile since you called me daddy." Seth said getting a little teary eyed. "How about this I talk to Jaelynn and ask her if she can fill in for me on the council and me and you can spend the day together like we used to." Seth said whipping the tears away from her face. "That sounds like fun." Annemarie said almost done crying. "It will be now I just got to tell your mother not to burn the house down tomorrow." Seth said with a smile as he handed Annemarie the plates. |
