Well, I didn't actually say it because at the time I was still playing it and I didn't want to get banned before I finished getting rid of my stuff. The site is called DayDreamWishes. It's a pet adoptable site that has ponies and unicorns on it. It had original started as signature pets over on UniFactions, which is the site the owner of DDW got banned from because of how nasty they got with both the staff and user base when things didn't go exactly as they wanted.

There was a time I made a general statement abut how tired I was of seeing people getting nasty and not even giving the staff a chance to breath since I had seen several people doing it, and that person literally starts jumping down my throat saying I'm specifically talking about them even though I never said names or quoted anyone. Just said that I had seen some nasty things being said and I was tired of seeing it because its tearing apart the community.

I googled Syndrone the other day and got no ping results for the community or avatar sight. What I did get was Avatar Syndrone. It made me giggle.

Well, since then, they let the domain expire, it's Syndrone Online...they have a facebook, twitter, and I think a tumblr?

I did see the twiter and facebook buy both havent been updated since they admited there where in tempory close down. No one from what I read of the replys wqs even schocked they did even theorise it may never go back up and as a wholr it is no lose.

It is down to be revamped supposedly, but you don't let the domain lapse, you may not be able to get it back lol

Out of all the sites that have been shut down, I'll mist Tentacl the most.

I have a feeling the Gaia high ups were planning to drop Gaia for Tentacl, then realized that wouldn't work. xD

Also what didn't help them was pushing Gems etc to people for Items that cost Real life mony when the sight was still in beta and every one who used it knew it was bank rolled by Gaia.

Yup Tenticl as soon as it was opened it started with gem seling to buy cloths for avatars. Cheapest was around 20 gems and that I think was just under two dollars.

There was also the fact that a lot of kids on Gaia use their parents' wallets to buy cash shop stuff, and Tentacl was an 18+ site, so people were a bit more reluctant to pour out all their money.

Well, when I first donated I used my dad's card but I gave him money. Than again I was already over 21. XD

I don't donate much. I'm broke so Gaia got some money like twice, here and kofk once....and howrse once I think, but that's it XD

I just think the whole thing was never going to work. just really odd that they thought people would be as easily sold as gaia users.

I didn't like how tentacl's avatars were....and how like everything seemed to cost gems. It was like imvu except at one point I was kind of into imvu.

And tumblr. It was imvu and tumblr mixed together.

That just sounds like a bad idea in general even thought I've never played/done imvu. x'D

With the mass migration from Gaia at the moment it wont be long before they either A) start a newAvatar sight or B) start thinking of closing it down. The B) may never happen as plenty are stillthere and suplying them qith real money for thier cash generators that they still havent got rid of nor will ever.

B isn't going to happen. Gaia is still massive even with all the people leaving (at least compared to most websites I'm on, even the ones where Gaians fled to XD)

Gaia will die at some point, it's just a matter of when.

Oh I know Gaia is HUGE compared to nice small places like this but yeah rats deserting a sinking ship seems about apt for it.

It's actually surprisingly hard to remain profitable as a website, especially when it grows ridiculously large like Gaia.

I mean, sure, they're shoving a crazy amount of "BUY NOW" type things at you (and that inflation, wow), but I'm fairly sure if Gaia didn't do that at least somewhat, they'd be losing money hand over fist. Servers to serve that many people aren't cheap, and they have a full time staff.

There is a "sweet spot," I think, where a site can make money and not have to be like...that. Bigger than Trisphee (right now), and smaller than Gaia. Where that is, however, I do not know.

As far as I can tell MagiStream is doing fairly well, they have 155,553 users listed on their page, but I think only half are active users? (a large portion of inactive users are actually bots ^^; )

I remember seeing Gaia have 100k people online at a given time.

A pet clicking site, yes. XD They also have a forums, but that's basically what it is.

I'm very done with that sort of site.
I just don't post enough to use them.

I just follow a hangout for another site I play and that's basically all I really do posting wise for the most part. ^^; I can't really seem to find a 'nitch' that I feel comfortable in. ^^;

I roleplay on the websites I'm on, recolor is the best one for it, but only because they allow not so safe for work things XD They also have a setting for adult only, which of course someone can lie about, but I think that should be on the liar's shoulders and not the websites XD
