Nic thought about how to answer that question for a few moments. "At some social functions," he explained.

Laurel seemed to accept that, "Is that all you can do?"

Nic thought another short moment before nodding.

"Well it will be interesting ball dancing to this music... But I'm up for a challenge," she chuckled.

"... If you want to do ballroom, I can change the music," Nic offered.

"All you know is ballroom, right?" Laurel asked again, a little confused as to why he'd turned this music on in the first place.

"Yes," Nic replied.

"Do you want me to teach you something else, or do you just want to ballroom dance?" she asked.

"... What do you want to do?" he asked.

Laurel paused, "I think... We should do what you're good at," she smiled, "So let's ballroom dance.

Nic paused a short moment before nodding, pulling out the remote, and changing the music to some typical ballroom.

So Laurel put her hand on his arm, slipping her other hand into his. "Let's see what you've got," she teased lightly.

So Nic put his arm around her and slowly started to dance. He seemed to have the basics down, but not much more than that. It was also mostly technical with very little creativity.

Laurel made up for some of that creativity, keeping Nic on his toes in a playful way. She seemed to be enjoying herself.

Laurel kept seeming to throw Nic off when she didn't stick completely to the steps. But he did his best to adapt since Laurel seemed to be having fun.

Laurel eventually stopped throwing Nic off as she moved a little closer to him and followed his lead.

Nic became a little more comfortable, but he was still spending a great deal of effort on getting the steps right.

"Hey..." Laurel murmured as she leaned in and kissed his cheek, "Relax a little."

That was proving difficult for Nic to do as he focused on not stepping on Laurel's feet as she danced so close to him. After the current song ended he took a moment to kick his shoes off which seemed to help his stress level a little.

Laurel had to chuckle a little, "Now we match," she observed before moving both arms to around his neck.

So Nic put both arms around Laurel's waist and tried to adapt his footwork accordingly.

Laurel smiled, "We don't have to do such fancy footwork, you know," she mused.

Nic seemed a little confused. She had wanted to dance ballroom, so that was what he was trying to do.

Laurel sighed, staying silent for awhile. Slowly she let her head fall forward, resting between her arm and his neck. She waited to see if he got the hint.

It took him a little while longer, but he finally let the traditional steps go and moved more slowly.

Laurel seemed perfectly content. After a long moment she pulled away and looked right into Nic's eyes.

It took Nic a moment to notice, still focusing on the footwork. But then he looked back at her.

Laurel smiled a little, "It's nice to see your eyes," she murmured.

Nic blinked, confused.

"You're usually gazing at your computer," she chuckled lightly.

Nic didn't reply and began to start focusing on his feet again as he almost stepped on Laurel's toes.

"Hey Nic..." Laurel said quietly, "Do you want to Salsa?" she asked.

"... I don't know Salsa," Nic replied.

"I know," Laurel replied with a smile, "But I do."

After another moment, Nic stopped and pulled out the remote, trying to find some Salsa music.

Laurel took the remote, flicking instantly to a station with salsa music, "I think you'll like salsa dancing," she told him with a knowing smile as she pressed her body against his and grabbed his hand. "Usually the boy leads but I will for now," she told him with a chuckle.

Nic didn't say anything as he tried to wrap his mind around the girl leading.

Laurel laughed at him before suddenly kissing his lips, "Now relax and let me lead," she ordered playfully.

Nic did his best. He actually wasn't too bad at learning, but he wanted to get everything perfect the first time.

Laurel continued to kiss him randomly every so often in an effort to keep him relaxed.
