I work retail too. and man if I could take tips people try to give me for helping lift furniture I'd have at least $300 in the past year and a half. But this is off subject.

I started looking into recolor and I am enjoying myself there. Mostly cause I'm addicted to their game called "Quad" x3

I'm actually on almost all the avatars sites.
And most times if it's new I'll join it just to see what it's like.

If the people aren't nice then I may not stay.

With the site I left the people in general are really nice, but the mods and admin got WAY out of shape when I asked for something that all the members were told to do. I've asked numerous people to read what I posted, both my fellow mods/admins and regular members in places and they all said I did nothing wrong and that they shouldn't have responded to me in such a manner. Not only that but when I voiced my concerns about that kind of reaction they punished me for it saying if I get two more warnings I'm banned from the site permanently. :/

Syndrone is worse from what I saw.

The administration was looking to ban me because I would point out problems. I think punishment should be tempered. Like if it's been awhile since the infraction, unless it was something like hacking, don't ban the person. What they officially banned me for, I couldn't remember if I did or didn't do by the time they finally told me why I was banned 6+ months after the ban.

And that was really stupid of them to not even tell you WHEN they did it. =.=; Some people just don't know nor care how they should run a site. Even from a business standpoint.

Also their email the administrator link just ended up refusing the email (you'd get an email saying they couldn't deliver what you sent)

So I had to wait until like one-two owners later for them to FINALLY tell me what I supposedly did wrong, not that I'd remember doing it or not at that point.

Yeah, that's just irksome if you ask me. I wouldn't even try going back there if I were you. ^^;

I can't. They IP banned me and it is not worth it to go through a proxy server to get on....which they are down currently for a three month revamp. I wonder if they'll really come back up.

Same here, but from what I hear, they are posting on their facebook/tumblr/twitter/whatever. Doesn't mean anything but it's better than some websites did before shutting down.

I've only played on one site that shut down, then again the art wasn't all that good and they were going to make it largely donation based as well. The pets that a lot of us were getting as limited were actually supposed to do donation pets when the site became bigger. And after a certain point they were also declared donation ones as well. But the art wasn't good enough for it and there wasn't much to do on the site so it ended up shutting down after a few months.

I've been on a few. Elidiun, Crysandrea, Tenntacl, probably some others I can't think of that shut down. It's sad to me because two of those I actually liked.

I honestly don't know of any to suggest that's doing good right now to be honest. Aways is more about pets than the avis, UniFaction6 is moving at a snail's pace right now, Kingdom of Knuffel keeps loosing users for some reason that doesn't have to do with the staff (though I do know one of the reasons), MagiStream doesn't have avis like this, nor does Flight Rising. ^^;

I don't know why they're losing users either. I just know why I'm not very active.

I got warned for posting in a thread. I just posted my thoughts on things, not talking about or to anyone in particular, but I didn't read every post and so did not see a mod's post...so I got warned for arguing when all I did was post a general reply and no one replied to me or anything. So I feel like I almost can't post because that proves to me they will warn for anything or nothing at all.

But I assume that isn't happening to everyone or the place would be deserted XD

I think it could also be that mod in particular if there is more than one mod. I just found it weird that I was treated the way I was on that one site and no other site has warned me of such things before. And then to voice my concerns and told I'd be banned if I continued to act that way? Um...no. Not putting up with that BS when I've never been told I was causing a problem before. And if there were things that thy didn't appreciate me saying/doing that wasn't breaking the rules than they should have addressed it, not let me continue to do it. Though even by there rules I had done NOTHING WRONG.

Some places are like Syndrone.

Others are like Gaia where if you've been a member for a long time, they're a bit more lenient (like a user that's been there month might be banned after 4 infractions....10 years? You might get more long as they all aren't close together XD) I think there should be more warnings, only because no one can remember every rule and on top of that, it's up to interpretation.

Like one mod interpreted my replying to a thread as attacking people and arguing somehow. So a warning. I put something about that in my sig there, the warning has since expired, but it's staying there....only because it was a use of power. I also considered that mod a friend, but it helped me realize that you can't be friends with people in power except maybe if you have power too. (I haven't been able to test that due to not wanting to be a mod considering how on some websites they abuse their power....some a lot more than others).

I'm sure that if someone thought I was abusing my powers as a mod they would say something to me. One time my admin wasn't in our mumble call when I warned someone numerous times to stop purposely getting in my way while I'm building or else I would teleport them to someone else's location not near where I'm at. They didn't listen to me so I teleported them and the admin was shocked to see me teleport them without warning in the game. So he gets on the mumble server to ask why I did that. There was another person in the call along with the person who I teleported the person to, both of which vouched that I gave them several warnings before I teleported them. The admin actually was happy that I did that since that person does that all the time to me anyways and thought I did good. x'D

I came from Syndrone Online. Apparently all the creators are college students and are preparing for finals. So they shut the site down for now. I don't understand it really.

They are just going to loose users because of inactivity. They couldn't look for someone who is not that busy to help them run it?

Thats what I was thinking. I mean obviously I already lost interest lol. But on their facebook they are lucky if more than ten people reply now. Everyone is annoyed from what I can tell.

I think they'll go down like crysandrea did. I mean, it's not like finals just spring up on you....I think my school scheduled them (college) a year in advance or so? So that's a bullshit excuse. On top of them not posting updates like they're supposed to.

I think I know how people that are wanting to watch Gaia, I think I understand them. Part of me likes watching Syndrone fall.

One that I left because of something they did to me that was uncalled for considering the situation. I've had plenty of people tell me to leave the site after I showed them what happened to me, and most of them are people I work with as mods/admins in other places. ^^; One of the things they did was get mad at me for doing as they instructed the users to do, because of how hostile the pm sounded to me I voiced my concerns to the admin and then the admin turns the unofficial warning that the mod had given me into an official one, which if I get two more official ones I get banned. The admin told me that I was being demanding and rude towards the staff, yet refused to tell me how I was because no one ever mentioned anything of what I said being rude. Not to mention that they told me that I was acting like I thought I was better than everyone else just because I donated to the site. All I did was ask if a thread could be unlocked that had been locked for certain reasons, as the entire site had been informed to do through a news post. And needless to say the admin theirself had been permanently banned from another site for doing the same thing they are accusing me of doing. ^^;

Needless to say that all the mods/admins I work with that I asked about the matter were completely and utterly shocked that someone would accuse me of such a thing, along with normal users on other sites. I took screen shots to show people who were curious as to what had happened, they read the messages and they said I should leave the site and shouldn't put up with that.

On top of that the ownership of the site has changed twice, so it went from the first owner to the second owner, then the second back to the first (they had originally sold it because they got tired of running a site within three months of it running). When the second owner bought it they wiped all transgressions, but when the first owner bought it back they brought back all the transgressions and didn't tell anyone that they did. On top of that all the transgressions I had were in threads that ended up getting completely wiped from the site so the owner their self couldn't even tell me what I had done wrong just that I did something.

So I basically sold everything I had for currency on other sites (which was not against the rules), and gifted some to some people and left. Some of my friends there were shocked that I would just leave like that because they know me on other sites and I've never done that before. And I also found out that some friends of mine that had been part of that community left for similar mistreatment of the members and refuse to go back to them because of that. Also I heard that one of the staff there doesn't even trust the owner because of something the owner did to them, which actually makes sense since that particular staff member is no longer that active on the site but will still do some things on the site. They are just keeping their distance from the owner and they were really sad when they found out I was leaving. Not to mention there's a lot of bad baggage on the site that was caused by the owner and now they are trying to sweep that under the rug by changing the site name to something else.

They need to crank out some new stuff like for the pets because I'm not interested in anything else there. Or a game or ten. They need something. If they've got good games, people may eventually wander into the forums.

Technically speaking there was supposed to be games on there a year ago, before the site went on an eight month hiatus. Though the owner seems to be pulling the same thing they did before when they originally owned the site. Taking a 'break' for a bit, so for your sake I hope they don't come back and say they are going to sell the site again because that's what they did before.

-le sigh- Once you give up a website, you should not be able to get it back. I can't code or anything, but I'd try to find someone. My friend can draw, we can learn to pixel stuff.

My brother understands some coding but I don't think he'd be a good choice anyways, he has issues with having deadlines and only wants to work on things when he wants to. ^^;

My friend is kind of like that too, like for Christmas (2014) she was going to crochet/knit me a hat based on Noiz's from Drammatical Murder....I still don't have it XD
