I;ve never seen anything like that. Unless you're talking about the super rare halos which is a totally different thing from single pose dinky hat.

The sale are mostly on cash itself now.

I don't see anything about fish anymore sadly. I want gold priced fish.

Stuff is still expensive and I wish they'd consolidate the cash announcements....but it has gotten a bit better XD

Consolidating the announcements would make them a lot less annoying. That's a good idea.

several years ago when they were trying to offer 'freebie' incentives with the cards, some of the items were not pets they were single-pose articles of clothing, the tiny hat they were selling is what cinched my never buying jack shit from them again

I didn't read all of the pages here, but I'm going to explain as much as the former Ernya Staff members knows about why the site went down as it did. I apologise if someone else posted it here.

Long ago Ernya was run by Prez & Emy, they were a married couple and made Ernya as something like their baby. At some point they divorced but still worked on the site. Over the years the backside of the site started falling part to the point where, over the last six months or so no one could get e-mails for newly registered accounts and they all had to be activated manually. The item uploader broke massively earlier in the year which caused a two week delay on the DIs that month. It was broken to the point where it could only be temp fixed. A bandage to keep all your organs in.

After the divorce, Emy moved overseas and was never able to get a job that paid well so Prez gave her 100% of Ernya's profit to keep her afloat and paid for the site out of his own money but was never able to spend the needed time to make updates & fixes to the site unless it was to bandage something up super quick. Jumping to the first of this month. due to the disrepair of Ernya's backside it's literally unsellable for the price Prez needs to sell it for. On top of that Prez is filing for bankruptcy on the company because he can no longer keep up with the money owed as a result of keeping Ernya up and giving all the Profit to Emy.

Now, I'm sure you're wondering why they didn't earlier and say something to the userbase a year or more ago...or even 6 months ago when the Item uploader broke? Emy. Emy is super closed off about all of this and REFUSED to tell the userbase anything was wrong. They could have saved the site by cutting back on some things, not releasing as many items a month, discontinuing the VIP colors that proved to be a failure and letting Alice do more so Emy could find a better job, but Emy had a vision for what the site NEEDED to be and she would not compromise, not even in the end.

So Emy brought it down in a snap decision, probably pressed by Prez over the weeks leading up to it. Because of her closed off behavior, she gave zero warning; not to the mods, not to the artists, not even to Alice who was the hired admin to take over in Emys place. They told NO ONE. Not one person. No one knew what kind of shape the site was in how badly it was suffering because the owners refused to be open and honest with the people who called Ernya home.

who is your source? this sounds very tv-melodrama XD

Then you're not paying 20 dollars for it...they're just offering a bit more for your buck.

Now they do tiers....get you to spend and get a free item or two (which they also offer ways to get free cash if you have the patience for it which is how I participate in the tiers XD)

This makes me think about a ton of websites I know. Especially one that the person was able to sell instead....and then people stole from the website, it was revamped and came back....though who knows for how long.

Let me know if either of them start another website so I can avoid it. You say he gave her all the profits, why did it fall apart? Why couldn't he afford it? Profits are after paying the bills and everything....so he had to be giving all the income to her and not just the profits which is an idiotic thing to do and makes me glad I didn't put any money into that website.

Tohopekaliga 12-15-2015 03:17 PM

Sounds more like gross profits were given, instead of net. Meaning all income before expenses.

Dorian Pavus 12-15-2015 03:57 PM

Yes, he gave gross profits before bills and taxes.
Our source is from Emy & Prez (mostly prez through e-mail or pm) and things the staff have seen outright. (I was an artist there).
Prez said he was going to make something after this, but we don't know what it is yet. someone said it sounded like he was making an IOS (mobile) game.

littl3chocobo 12-15-2015 08:42 PM

that is beyond stupid x_____x;

Babyboo 12-15-2015 09:28 PM

I moved here from Ernya too. I didn't even now it was closing. I was babyboo17forever over there.

littl3chocobo 12-15-2015 09:51 PM

well it is good you came here and were not left in a lurch?

Ireland 12-16-2015 12:50 AM

Uggghhh

Though that explains quite a bit, it still makes me sad that in the end she cared more about her website then the users.

But, at least we know what happened...as shitty as it is. *le sigh*

Yokuutsu 12-17-2015 03:48 AM

Any good businessman/woman/etc knows that you pay the bills first then worry about what you do with the rest be it to reinvest in the company or to run away with it. That's assuming there is always profit XD

Fulkth 12-17-2015 05:51 PM

@Yokuutsu

Thank you so much for the update!

edit: One of my earliest memories of ernya was the big hoopla over the coin item Midget attire. It was offensive so they renamed the item to something else.
