James chuckled, "I stuff my catches too," he replied.
Yue still didn't look like she believed him. But after another long moment she took the rod and sat down. She'd find out soon enough.
But it was quickly apparent Yue had no idea what the terra she was doing. |
James came over and stood behind her, wrapping his arms around hers and guiding her pole. He did seem to know what he was doing.
Yue cussed a little as her line was cast into the water with James' help. She was surprised that had actually worked. "Why the terra is it so complex to cast?" she asked.
James laughed, "Careful not to catch yourself on the cast!" he replied, "I did that my first time... Kale's way better than me."
Yue stared blankly at James. First he fishes, and then he spends time with Kale?
James rolled his eyes, "Kale's really quiet but cool... C'mon, we've had some down time over the years," he explained.
Yue shook her head, still not believing him.
James rolled his eyes, "You still don't know me very well..." he sighed. Suddenly there was a tug on Yue's line, "Oh! Fish!" James quickly instructed her how to hook it and reel it in.
"Huh?" Yue said, not too excited about the catch as she tried to do what James instructed.
Yue pulled out a small but colorful fish from the water. James grinned, "Your first fish!" he praised her.
Yue wasn't too excited, but she raised an eyebrow at James' excitement before looking back at the little fish.
"Go ahead and let it go, but don't touch the fins... they're poisonous," he explained.
"You do it," Yue told him as she moved the pole around so he could grab the fish.
James put his hands up and backed away, "You caught it!" he replied with a smirk.
"How am I supposed to take it off without touching the fins?" she demanded, waving the poor fish around a little.
James chuckled, "You're Ming Yue. You can figure it out."
Yue stared at the fish again for a split second before lowering the fish back into the water so it could try to free itself.
The poor fish was hooked good. It floundered around for a bit before giving up and floating pathetically.
"It'll die you know," James commented. |
"Then take it off," Yue told him. "I'm not touching it."
"It's death will be on your hands," James said with almost convincing seriousness.
Yue didn't seem to concerned about being overwhelmed by guilt. "Yours as well," she noted, since he was refusing to help.
James rolled his eyes as he walked over, grabbed the line with one hand and used his other hand to stick his pointer finger down the fish's throat. Grasping the first firmly by the mouth between his pointer finger and thumb, he unhooked the poor thing and set it back into the water. Then he looked at Yue with a raised eyebrow as if questioning her so-called abilities.
Yue didn't look like she felt any kind of guilt as she watched the fish swim away.
James cast his own line before watching to see if Yue remembered.
Yue didn't try as she set her pole down before sitting again.
James sighed but kept fishing himself, leaning back and enjoying the sun.
Yue enjoyed the sun for awhile too, but then started to worry about getting a farmer's tan.
"Just take your shirt off," James replied easily, his already off.
"No thanks," Yue told him as she started to look for some sun block.
There was some but it took awhile to find. "Hey, can you put some on my back?" James called over to her.
Yue put some on herself first before reluctantly putting some on James' back.
James grinned, "How about my face?" he asked as he turned his face up to hers expectantly.
Yue stared a little blankly before putting a little sunscreen on his nose and cheek bones.
James' smile grew, "How about my chest?" he asked, puffing out his chest.
Yue squirted some on his chest and walked off to put the bottle away without rubbing it in.
"Aww, you know you want to touch it," James teased.
Yue didn't give in as she sat back down.
James rolled his eyes and went back to fishing.
-- Wolfe was finally showing signs of waking. |
When Wolfe woke up, Raven was a good distance away. He was currently sunbathing, but there were also two sand castles near him that had probably taken a few hours to make.
