I'm still deciding what I want to do for the story. I wonder how our characters should find out that they are related?

Does your character know his genealogy? Would that be something that he was interested in? Because it would be quite a shock for an ancient relative to appear before him one day. xD

Well Dark's Past is kinda mess up.

He was actually called Charles and was living with farmers, his parents. Her mother, when she saw his eyes the first time, she immediately thought of a demon. So they call him Charles to make him look less demonish XD.

His dad was a very good farmer and he tried to make Dark enjoy it, until he kills the family cat that is.
During that time, a count was passing by and he saw the killing happen and the kid (about the age of 10) with blood all over... The dad trying to punish him, but wasn't listening. The blood fascinated the kid.

Then, seeing are bad the dad and mom were for the kid, he bought him for is own use.

Then Dark went to war under Charles name... got the title of count when his adopted dad was killed. And that is why he was so messed up XD.

Until the woman named Sophia (or Sophie I don't remember since it is my gf's character) came and change his world.

Sophia... the female Christian god... Nice... xD

It can be.
That late Count was a very war oriented father, but he wasn't mean.
It was just Dark had this blood love and was having mental problems.
So the count tried to teach him to kill only at war and not more, but when the count was murder, then Dark flipped.. Everything was war to him.

So ya.
Today Dark is much nicer XD.

So... We'll trace the lineage back from his adopted father. I'm sure Dark considered him to be a father anyway.

You haven't decided about any history for the Count, have you? Cause if not, I'll just play off that.

You're character MAY have heard of mine at least, but seeing him in the flesh... Well yours is a shapeshifter and quite old too, but I'm assuming you have thought that mine was long dead, before Dark's birth.
