Dark blinked at the yawn. "Maybe we should head back home now." Dark did not mind the occasional camp out but they had not packed for it.

he looked to the sky then at the falls, he turned to the other and asked if they could return again. he was given a nodd and so agreed to leave. they packed their things and put on their shoes and headed towards home

The way back is slightly easier and they arrive hback at the house slightly after dark. "Good thing we got here now." Dark commented as he opened the door for Alexander.

"because of wolves?" he recalled what the other had said the day before

"Yep." Dark conferms. Dark places the dirty dishes and utensils in the dishwater.

he followed the other over to the sink. dark runs the faucet and puts all of their picnic things in the sudsing water. alexander is content to watch this display of domesticity

Dark finishes the dishes quickly. "Do you want to take a shower tonight or tommorrow?" Dark asked softly as he finished putting everything back in its proper place.

he froze. his mouth was dry and he didn't know why. he licked his lips and asked shyly "it is your choice. would you like to take shower today?" he did not want to hurt his lord but it was not he who was asking. he waited impaitently for the other to give an answer.

Dark shrugged, "I can take mine when ever, you can do it now and I can take one later or we could work somehting else out."

"oh..." was all he got out. he blinked. the other was giving him a choice? he looked dark in the eyes searching for the answer. he came back with nothing. "i...don't know." he was torn between his own wants and what he believed was best for his lord. though that the question was asked at all cast his thoughts on the matter into doubt

"You don't know at what time you want to wash?" Dark was confused had he worded that incorrectly or missed a que?

he was confused "wash? i thought you asked about taking shower" he felt oddly disappointed for not understanding but at the same time relieved he did not have to make a choice, making the wrong one would leave one or both of them unhappy and he had already done enough of that in a day to last the rest of his life with more to spare

Dark blinked and realized he had changed his wording by simply using a synom, "Wash, shower, and bathe have similar meanings and require almost the same thing to be done for each." Dark was trying to explain and failling horribly.

he had not known, though what they had done in shower was not how one bathed. he voiced his concerns "that is not how you bathe, it is not the same as taking shower at all but for the use of water"

"Well you get clean." Dark pointed out to tired for a conversation about weather or not bathing or showering were the same.

he opened his mouth to argue but saw the look on dark's face "you are tired"

"Hmm?" Dark asked he had kind of zoned out for a second, "Could you please repeat that?"

"you should sleep now" he took dark by the hand an lead him to the bedroom.

Dark blinked sleepily, "Sleep now? But it is only..." Dark took a quick glance at his watch, "8:15"

"you are tired though" he did not understand why it mattered the time. "you sleep when you are sleepy not when the clock tells you"

"Nuh," Dark protested even as he was steered towards bed, "You sleep when the clock says after 11 pm." He said this as htough it was a fact of life. "Otherwise you won't get everything done."

he ignored the other pulled back the blankets and picked him up. tossing the boy in bed he put the blankets over dark and smoothed them out

Dark did not protest too mucha s he was put ot bed, he was very tired. In his half conscious state he grabbed Alexander and pulled him into bed with him. "If I musst sleeep, then youu must too." Dark words were slurred but still mostly understandable.

he looked to the door though he melted into the other's arms "bathroom first?"

Dark pouted but relented. "Fine but come back." He did not even he was whining slightly in his sleepiness.

he nodded and quickly went to the bath-closet. he went and washed and came back. the other looked to be dosing. he went over to the boy's side and watched him breathe for a moment. the other looked peaceful enough but he was sure the nightmare that had been chasing the other since before the book was lurking.

Dark was having another nightmare, slightly darker then his others. He was alone in a world of glass and whispers. He knew others were there but he could not get to them and they could not get to him.

The whispers were what sealed this dream as a nightmare though. It whispered things even Dark himself never spoke about. Every short comming, every failure. The whispers were the rulers of this realm and Dark was helpless as they drove him further and deeper, further from any help or anyone and deeper into his self.

after a few moments longer went around and he crawled into bed from the other side. he pulled the other into his arms snugly. he would be prepared tonight.


he fell into a hall of mirrors though nothing reflected in them but darkness. he dared not touch such things for he knew they would eat him. he wandered for a moment until he heard voices. he picked up the pace. at the center of chaos would be the other he knew. unlike the other dream however he did not go straight, he dove and weaved and slunk in a meandering path sometimes going forward and sometimes going sideways but never going back. he could hear the voices growing louder, he could almost make out the words

In a split second Dark was else where and the voices were realing. Something had come to close, something they did not like. Dark's eyes widened, Alexander! How was he supposed to warn Alexander to stay out? Darl did not have mcuh time to think about it as the voices suddenly started up again much quicker and violent this time. The words turned to knives and dug into Dark's flesh. Only phantom paisn but they still hurt.

Dark was getting further and further away from whatever the voices hated. Sometimes whatever it was would cause a temporary silence but the voices would aways return with vengence. Then it all went silent. The voices had completly stopped but Dark felt numb and inhuman. One word slipped through the oppressing silemce, 'Monster'.

The name reverberated though his head, yes he was a monster. 'But,' his inmost voice protested, 'Alexander does not think you're a monster.'

Another voice sneered, "Yeah, and Dark will end up hurting him and Alexander will finally see how horrifying a beast you are.' his silence was gone and the voices were back but this time on tiny voice was protecting him.

'Stop fighting and simply admit your nothing more then a dumb monster who can only destroy."

When Dark heard the voices stop at another's shout he was curious. Until he realised whose shout it was. "No," Dark shouted, "Get out of here." Alexander was not supposed to get mixed up in Dark's freaksih nightmares. Dark stopped listening to what anyone and everyone was saying.

Something changed and Dark was not sure what. One second he had been asking Alexander to leave his dreams and the next he was else where. The scenery reminded him of glatator Rome.

Dark was in the amphitheter with Alexander next thing he knew. It was hopefully just a dream because the point of this was to kill the opponent. Dark gripped his sword tighter and ran for the Alexander apperition.
