Holden sighed, "It's fine, I don't like the feeling I'm getting from you right now, myself." He ran his hand through his hair with a frown. "He went back to London." He sighed again. "I needed to help Melody, but since Mystic was alive and well..." He stopped mid sentence when the stone on his pendant started to glow. He growled at it, "Ah sorry. The sun is coming up." He pointed to the window. "As I was saying, I didn't want Jaelynn to get hurt helping me again. And this was the only thing I knew to do." He sighed for the third time. "I should go, the bank will be opening soon, and I would like to get a house before the day is over. I will see you soon, I hope." He waved and went back to his room to grab his bags.
*** After a couple hours of searching Holden found a house he really liked. *** Alicia knocked on the door to Holden's study, "Holden? Can I come in? It's me Alicia." She gently opened the door. Holden suddenly closed the book he was reading, "What Alicia?" He snapped as he brushed his now long white hair from his eyes. "It's been two months, and you have barely left this.. these rooms. You even blew a hole in the wall to your bedroom." She pointed to the hole. "You need to go and talk to Solomon. I know you miss him." She stepped back slightly afraid of how he was going to react. "I destroyed the relationship Alicia. I have nothing to say to make it better." He stood up. "These books, all of them. I could never mess up my relationships with them." He pointed to the many books around the room. "Holden... You... Look at yourself. You look like a seventy year old man." She pointed to him. "A-..and these books are giving you a vast knowledge of witchcraft, but your power is going to kill you." She stepped backwards as he got closer. "I feel the power rolling off of you Holden. And when this much power is coming from one person it is never good." She squeaked when she hit the wall. "You think that Alicia? I can show you my power if you really want." Holden's eyes turned black. "N-..no, Holden please... This isn't you." Alicia started to cry. "I-..I'm sorry. Please just let me go." She pointed to the door. Holden's eyes turned back to their normal color. "Go." He waved the door open and went back to his chair. Alicia ran out of the room and teleported away. She landed in a study in Solomon's old house. She fell to the floor and started to cry harder. "Solomon?" |
Throughout the next few weeks, Solomon set out to regain his property, his horses and his former employees. They were entirely thrilled to come back to work for him and jumped at the opportunity. Solomon was relieved that he would not have to find new workers. Anne had even come back to work with him; she was even running a small bakery from the large kitchen which was perfectly fine by him.
Suddenly, he looked upstairs, sensing someone in his house; a vampire. He let out a quiet sigh hearing Alicia's voice in his head. Solomon appeared, kneeling next to Alicia. He helped her up and to the couch, "Alicia, please calm down.." He held out his hand to her, a fresh bottle of blood appearing in his hands, "What's wrong?" |
"I-..it's Holden..." Alicia looked up at Solomon. "H-..he isn't himself. He is consumed with magic, he sits in his study all day and read his books. His power has grown immensely." She trailed off. "He had it planned out he was gonna buy a house, and get settled and then come talk to you." She said starting to settle down. "But we were walking through the city one day and he saw a little occult bookshop." She paused.
"Why they would have an occult bookshop in Fond du Lac Wisconsin is beyond me. Anyway he wanted to go in there and check it out." She sighed. "He walked out carrying every single book with spells and about witches and witchcraft, that the store had." She looked away. "Every time I try to talk to him I get scared. He has gone through ten pendants in the past two months." She looked back at Solomon. "I know he burned the bridge to you by having his powers activated, but can you talk to him? Maybe you can talk some sense into him." She closed her eyes. "He doesn't even look like the Holden you knew two months ago." Alicia opened her eyes, they had deep worry in them. |
Solomon frowned, shaking his head, "I can't go anywhere near him Alicia. If he's as strong as you imply, the darkness in my aura that built up over 570 years would cause him to react violently, even to me." He sighed, leaning on his desk and pushing his sleeves up to his elbows, "I'm surprised you could even get that close for that amount of time." He glanced out to the window, watching the outside world, "I'm sorry Alicia, but I can't do anything..and don't go asking Cameila either...she may have been a witch, but now her aura reeks of Vampire..she'd be of no use either. Your best bet is to hunt down a 'white' witch...or..or a neutral party!"
He looked to her and stepped over, "H-have you guys heard anything from Mystic or Melody? Melody would be perfect...Holden does care about her, and she has no darkness in her aura; she's innocent. She's a smart girl...maybe we could use her to help us get some sense into Holden." |
Alicia shook her head, "Soon after he started reading his books he stopped talking to Mystic and Melody." She sighed. "I'm the only one allowed in the house. He has a spell around it now that I think of it. Now one can enter except for him and me." She looked down at the floor. She looked up with a somewhat glimmer in her eyes, "I do have an idea. But knowing my luck Holden will kill me or something." She sighed.
|
He lifted his hand, indicating for her to continue, "Do tell Alicia. I have a block around this room so powerful that not even Mystic and Azriel could break it."
|
"Well, Holden has these journals. Chronicling every white witch or warlock in the U.S." Alicia paused. "He used to have them in his bedroom.. study thing. But now they are in the basement. I can teleport them here." She stuck up her hand. "No that wouldn't be safe right away, I would have to do some teleporting first. Just in case Holden would notice." She thought for a moment. "But when I get enough places teleported we can use this." She pulled out one of Holden's old pendants. "To summon one of them, and we would need some..." She face palmed herself. "What is it called? It's a root or a herb... It cleanses the soul, and makes us seem like light creatures." She rubbed her temples. "It's an old Wiccan thing." She looked at Solomon. "He told me a lot of things before he went mad with power. Sweet grass!" She yelled a little. "That's what it is... We need to meditate with it burning in front of us. And we have to picture our aura's clean, and supposedly it works." Alicia smiled a little.
|
Solomon lifted his hand, "You can do that..I won't be involved with no Wiccan magic...I will remove myself from my property so you can do this properly, but I will not..." He had to admit, it sounded like a solid idea.
|
"I understand Solomon. But when Holden is back to somewhat normal, can you please come and talk to him?" Alicia stood up. "I know under all of that power, that he misses you. And you flinched a little bit when I mentioned his name. You miss him too." She crossed her arms in a 'I am right' fashion. She sighed slightly, "If you come and see him afterwards, be careful." Alicia smiled.
|
Solomon frowned, "Of course I miss him Alicia, it doesn't take a genius to figure that out." He sighed a bit, "We will see..once things have played out."
|
"Ok, I will be back shortly." Alicia gave Solomon a small hug and disappeared. After about twenty minutes of teleporting around the world she landed back in Solomon's study. "Well if he figured it out, he hopefully would of lost my trail. I even made sure my portals closed." She slammed the book on the table. "And this thing is heavy." She leaned on the table a little bit. "Now let's see, how his ranking system works." She opened the book and threw some sweet grass on the table. "Well, it seems that his system is very complex. I think he was getting a little paranoid." She closed her eyes to think.
"Ok, I think I understand it a little. Three stars means very powerful. And the one through five means their rank in the witches council, one being low and five being high. He also has his own ranking system." She sighed. "We will go with the Witches council ranking." She flipped through the book. She stopped when she saw Holden's picture, "He's ranked at six!" She looked to Solomon. "That's not possible... Their system is one through five." She was very confused. "Camelia..? How is Holden ranked six by the witches council?" She started flipping through the book again. "How did you know that?" Camelia jumped a little when she heard that. She sighed, "Six is a number we give to a witch, warlock, or paladin, when they have learned most of the white magic. Seven is when they have. It also goes negative with the dark arts. But no one is supposed to know about the after fives." Camelia blocked the conversation from anyone who was trying to spy. "I'm sure you heard that Solomon." Alicia sighed. She stopped, "Her, Clara. She is a five, she should be able to help." She looked to Solomon. |
Solomon had his hands in his pockets, "I just wish he would've listened to me..." He lifted his hand form his pocket, waving it idly in the air without looking at her, "Then hop to it." With that, he vanished.
|
Alicia nodded, she quickly went to one of the plants and grabbed the plate out from underneath it. She placed the sweet grass on the plate and set it on the floor. She sat down on the floor pretzel style, she lit the grass on fire with a match and closed her eyes. After about ten minutes of sitting there she opened her eyes. "I do feel cleansed." She stood up and went to the book. She looked for a summoning spell, as she pulled out the pendant which was glowing slightly. "Ok, here goes." She quickly read the spell and turned around. She held up the pendant, "I a daughter of Venus, use the power of a son of Mars, to call Clara to my aid." The pendant started to glow brightly.
Suddenly a light blonde hared woman appeared wearing a flowing white gown. "What is it you need daughter of Venus?" A bell like voice came from the woman. Alicia bowed slightly when the woman spoke. "My friend needs your help Clara." She said looking at the woman. "And what is your name? As well as his?" The woman's hands floated out and up. "I'm Alicia, and my friend's name is Holden." Alicia wanted to say more but was silenced by the woman. The woman floated her hand up after she got the names. "Alicia, your friend Holden has strayed off of the path of light. He has started digging into the dark." The woman frowned. "You have not been fully truthful to me child of the dark." The woman's light blue eyes turned to a dark blue. "I'm sorry ma'am, but I care deeply for my friend, and I wish to help him. I need you to do that." Alicia begged. "I know this child. As I also know that your heart is in a good place." The woman's eyes turned back to light blue. "We shall go and bring your friend back to the light." The woman extended her hand to Alicia. Alicia gently took the woman's hand. |
Two Months Ago:
The red eyed woman known as Acera sighed a bit, closing her eyes as she rubbed her temples. "You really do amaze me sometimes Mystic.." She opened her eyes, leaning back in her chair and crossing her left leg over her right. She quietly folded her hands neatly in her lap as she stared at him, her eyes glowing slightly, "You have avoided me rather well these past few months, but you can't hide from me forever~" Mystic frowned, keeping his gaze low, remaining down on his knees. "I understand your wrath Mistress, but please hear me out." He waited a moment, glancing up to see her nod. He stood, keeping his gaze respectfully low, "I do deserve punishment to the fullest extent of the law, but Melody is just someone who got caught up in all this. If you allow me to do a proper attachment for her, I promise I will endure any punishment you deem necessary for both myself and her. She de-" Acera held up her slim hand, silencing Mystic, "Quiet now. Your stupid wife already explain the circumstances to me. However, you broke my laws..four times..I cannot simply let you or those people walk around as if it were nothing. If I do, we'd be seeing hundreds of reattached demons and vampires..it would throw the world into chaos." She stood, going over to Mystic. She looked to see his face, as he was much taller than her at 6'2". She gently lay her hand on his cheek, "While it's a shame to get rid of two of my most powerful demons, I have to remain firm with the law. That's what they're for." Mystic tensed as Acera touched his face; the color draining from his flesh. "Acera, please...you can kill me and Azriel, fine...teach the demons a good lesson..make it a spectacle, I don't care. Just..please don't hurt Melody or the vampires. If you kill the vampires, you will upset the peace we currently have with them..while they stand no chance, a war is just not in our best interests right now." Acera was silent as she thought, trailing her hand down his chest to his heart, her sharp nail digging hard into his shirt. "Hmm..this event is rather isolated, and the only ones aware of your..disobedience are the Council and myself..." She removed her hand, allowing the color to return to Mystic's skin. She turned on her heel, heading back up to her chair and sat down, staring down at him with her bright eyes. "If you ever go against me again, I will not be so forgiving. I will call Irith off her hunt and you can have Azriel back." Suddenly, she grabbed him with a powerful wrap of telekinesis, squeezing him tightly, "I mean it Mystic...I will have you dead faster than you can blink. Bring the doll to me, along with a body...I will do the attachment myself.." Mystic nodded, as that was all he could do; until she released him. He fell to his knees, gasping for air, "If I could but plead one favor from you..." He stood, coughing a few times as his ribs repaired, "You are our best warrior, and I was hoping you could pass some information to Melody. I have a feeling that even if you call off Irith, Melody will still be in danger. I would like her to be able to at least protect herself long enough so I can get to her." He quickly looked down, realizing how ridiculous his request sounded. Acera grinned darkly, "Well, since you asked me so nicely, I will do that, and a bit more. Just bring me a body, and I will take care of the rest. I wouldn't be too worried about Irith going after her, but rather the other demons if they were to get wind of this. Just beware Mystic, my knowledge might..change her..she won't be the cute, innocent girl she is now." Mystic nodded, "I will forever be in your debt Mistress." With that, he vanished. Present Day: Mystic sighed deeply, looking over to the young black haired girl whose eyes were glued to a book, "Really Melody...you need to actually get out and..do something. All you do is sit around and read demonology books..." Melody glanced up, her dull grey eyes narrowing slightly, "Don't blame me Mystic. You have nothing for me to do here..I can't go anywhere near Holden, and you refuse to teach me anything, I have to learn somehow." She shut the book, setting it down on the table, "Don't you have to be somewhere?" Mystic flinched, "Oh shut up..Acera will have to wait..you little Missy need to eat something. Now go." He pointed to the kitchen. She sighed, standing up and smoothing her dress, "I know Mystic...I'll eat when I'm hungry." She walked over, giving him a light shove, "I wouldn't keep Acera waiting if I were you Mystic..." Mystic growled then disappeared. I'm going to have to teach her some manners! |

Alicia and Clara appeared outside Holden's front door. "This boy is truly powerful. This spell..." The woman trailed off as she started to break it.
Holden snarled as he felt the spell starting to break. "Clara." He vanished appearing just behind the door. He put his hands up to keep the spell going. "Well he is a fast one." The woman said as she moved Alicia behind her. She quickly put her hands up to combat his adding power. "You have no hope against me Clara." Holden quickly said an incantation slashing Clara's abdomen. The woman only flinched when her abdomen was sliced open. "You may be ranked higher then me but I have had my powers for hundreds of years boy." She pulled the front door off the hinges. "Your not ready for this child." Holden's eyes turned black as his door was ripped off. "I'm more ready then you know." The sky started to turn black, and lightning started to flash in the clouds. Suddenly a lightning bolt slammed into the ground mere inches from Clara. Clara didn't falter when the lightning bolt struck next to her. She looked up and started to turn the sky white. "You have moved from your path Holden. This is what Paladin's are supposed to do." She looked at Holden with white eyes. Alicia skittered away when the lightning bolt struck the ground. Holden growled as his sky was turning white. He made a lightning bolt fly right at Clara. Clara stuck her hand up as the lightning bolt came to her, suddenly the lightning bolt turned to snow. |
Melody sighed as Mystic vanished, "It's about damn time." She rolled her eyes, quickly sneaking off to his study; which he kept locked at all times. She pulled out two pins from her sleeve, quickly picking the lock and opening the door. She replaced the pins into the small pocket of her sleeve. She glanced around, her eyes searching the shelves, "Dammit where'd he put it?"
Her finger ran along the bindings as she read the titles to herself. Finally, she grinned as she found the book she was looking for, "Ah ha! You can't hide it from me Mystic." She pulled the book off the shelf then headed into the kitchen. She set the book on the table, quickly assembled a sandwich, then sat down, flipping it open to the first page. If Mystic wouldn't teach her to use her powers, then she'd figure it out herself. |
Clara suddenly stopped trying to break the shield around the house.
Holden fell forward onto his face as he suddenly had no force pushing back. The woman quickly pulled back her arm and pushed it forward, shattering the weak shield. She ran into the house and got on top of Holden as he turned over. Holden growled when his shield broke, he turned over to start getting up. But he found Clara on top of him. The woman put her hand over Holden's Pendant and started to pull out the black essence. Holden winced as his essence was being pulled on. He stuck his hand up under Clara's pendant and started to pull out her essence. The woman and Holden suddenly disappeared, they crashed through a table. They were in Holden's parent's home. Clara continued to pull out the darkness from Holden. Suddenly they disappeared again. This time landing in Solomon's house, on the table in the study. Holden winced as he slammed his head into the table in Solomon's study. But he kept stealing Clara's essence. The two disappeared again, landing in Holden's old house. You could still slightly see the blood stains on the hardwood floor. They disappeared again landing a few feet from Seth. Clara suddenly found herself under Holden as they landed in Seth's house. "Holden, you are not this dark person." She flipped so she was back on top of Holden. "You have no power over me!" Holden slammed his head into the floor again as he suddenly found himself under Clara again. The duo disappeared again this time landing on the table in front of Melody. "Holy shit! Did you just see and hear that Serus!?" Seth flew out of his chair when Holden and the woman were gone. Clara felt the darkness hold on Holden was almost gone. "You need to remember the people you care about Holden." The woman looked at the girl with white eyes. "If they cared about me they would of visited me!" The darkness amplified quickly as hatred poured out of Holden. "You cut all ties from them they day you had your Paladin powers activated. You are not evil Holden, you may have been a vampire. But you are a pure heart." The woman amplified pulling the darkness from Holden. "Holden remember the love of your friends, and of... Solomon!" The woman flew back but quickly landed on her feet as she pulled all of the darkness from Holden. Holden's eyes turned to a light blue as the darkness was gone from him. He rolled to his side and went into the fetal position and started to cry. His white hair covering his eyes. |
Serus raised her brow, "I did..and that was odd..but it's about damn time someone kicked his ass. The bastard killed a few fledglings from the Antinoris..." She shook her head slightly, going back to her book, "Just relax Seth, you've seen stranger...'
Melody blinked, looking up at the people on Mystic's table, "Why hello." She looked over to the woman, barring her teeth slightly sensing the light aura about her, "I'm sorry..reflex." She closed her lips, looking down to Holden, her hand still holding the page that she was in the process of flipping as the two appeared. "H-Holden?" |
"But..." Seth looked at Serus. "He didn't do a damn thing to any of them." He crossed his arms. He sighed, "You really need to stop being a bitch all the time."
"For Venus's sake Holden it wasn't that bad." The woman crossed her arms. "Now answer the young girl that talked to you." She swatted him upside the head with some power. Holden flew off of the table and floated to his feet, "You didn't have to fucking hit me Clara." He glared at the woman. He then finally felt the presence coming from the girl, his pendent started to glow as well as his hands. "Wait how do you know me?" He made his hands stop glowing. "Your aura..." |
She finally let the page fall, "Oh my God..what happened to you?" She glanced back to her sandwich; destroyed. She sighed, pointing to it, "Look what you did...jeez.." She grabbed the plate and quickly tilted it over the trash dumping the remnants of the broken sandwich, "Oh well.."
She turned to face Holden, placing the plate on the counter then her hand son her hips. She narrowed her eyes, stepping over and prodding him hard on the chest, "I wouldn't expect you to know who I am! I don't hear from you for two months, then all of the sudden you come plopping into Mystic's kitchen and almost break the table and the bo-" She jumped with a squeal, whirling around to see the book on the table. She yelled out, hurrying over and pointing to the stain, "Look what you did! He's going to kill me!" She bit her lip, reluctant to try and wipe the stain off and make it worse. Serus threw the book at Seth, must to fast for him to dodge, "I'm not being a bitch!" She jumped after the book, tackling him to the floor with a devious grin, "Besides..you know you love it." |
"Well it looks like that is my cue to leave. Here is some money for your door Holden." The woman placed a few bills on the counter. She gave a wave, "Bye."
"Mystic's kitchen?" Holden paused looking around. "Melody?" He said with wide eyes. "How'd you get..?" He trailed off as she squealed. He sighed a little bit and walked closer to the book. He looked at the stain and started to waved his hand over the page. The stain suddenly disappearing, "There." He moved his long hair from his face. "As for the two months thing, I sort of went mad with learning everything I could learn about magic. I actually um started reading and learning black magic spells." He sighed crossing his arms. "I guess that's what I get becoming a six." Holden sighed again. "Yes you..." Seth trailed off as the book hit him in the stomach. Suddenly he found himself slamming to the floor, he pouted slightly. "Totally unfair." He then smiled. "And I know you love it when I'm an ass." He flipped Serus so he was on top of her. |
Melody turned, grabbing the book and flipping it closed, "Took you long enough." She looked away, hurrying off to replace the book on the shelf. She shut the door to the study after locking it, heading back to the kitchen and crossing her arms over her chest, "That's what you get for not listening to Solomon. Yeah, that's right! I know! For days he'd come by bitching a storm to Mystic! 'Why doesn't he ever listen? I told him it was a bad idea!'"
She then placed her hands on her hips, "Not to mention me! I bothered Mystic every day to see you, but you know what he told me?" She stepped forward, peering up at him as he was a bit taller than her, her grey eyes narrowing sharply, "He told me I couldn't see you..ever again...and when I asked him why, he told me that it was because he was afraid for my safety. Little old innocent Melody couldn't see her only friend because he was being an ass and getting his stupid brain corrupted by dark magic!" She glared up at him for a moment before stepping away, running her hand through her long black hair. Serus grinned, "You do have that certain charm about you when you're being an ass~" She pulled his face down, kissing him furiously on the lips. |
"What else was I supposed to do Melody? I thought you were dying. I also thought Mystic was dead. I couldn't let Jaelynn go back into the ethereal realm, and possibly not come back." Holden threw his hands down. "I couldn't stand losing you again Melody." He growled slightly. "I..." He trailed off as he plopped down to the floor. "I'm sorry Melody." He sighed looking to the floor. "And dark magic is very alluring." He looked up and saw his pendant glowing brightly. "Shut up you stupid thing. The sun is going down, big deal." Holden slapped his chest.
|
Melody whirled around, "You had no idea what you were getting into Holden! Now look around you! Your best friend is afraid of you, Solomon wants nothing to with you since he can't even touch you anymore...and..." She trailed off with a sigh, "Forget it..no matter how much I yell at you, it won't change anything." She leaned on the table, slightly glaring as she looked down at him, "You better leave...Mystic would not be happy if your stupid Paladin aura got him in trouble..again."
|
Holden nodded, "I'm sorry again Melody." He muttered something and disappeared. He landed on his feet a few feet away from Alicia. "I'm sorry Alicia. Please forgive me." He looked down at the ground.
"Well at least it is you." Alicia stepped out from behind the tree. "And it's gonna take a lot more then an apology for me to forgive you." She crossed her arms. "Your gonna burn all of the books that contain black magic. And I will make sure you do." She walked closer to him. She slapped him across the face, "At least you not so powerful anymore." Alicia sighed and went into the house. "Yes Alicia." Holden nodded. He rubbed his cheek after Alicia slapped him. "I deserve a lot more then just that." He turned around. He sighed when he saw the huge gaping hole in the ground. He walked over to it and started to wave his hands over it. When the hole was filled he went to the door which was only a few feet away. He picked it up and walked it to the door frame. He started to mutter something this time. after a moment the door was back on the frame. He sighed and disappeared. He landed in the study to a waiting Alicia. He sighed again, and started to say an incantation. Suddenly the books started flying around the room. The white magic books started to fly onto the bookshelves and the few black magic books landed in the middle of the room. After a few minutes all of the books were either on the shelves or on the floor. "Good, now torch them." Alicia pointed to the books on the floor. Holden nodded and put a shield on the floor so the fire didn't burn the floor. He said something quickly and the books were engulfed by fire. He watched the fire for a moment, he walked over to the hole in the wall. He sighed, "I'm low on power. Because of the fight with Clara. I'll have to call a contractor." He looked at Alicia but quickly averted his gaze. "That's fine. I'm just glad those damn books wont corrupt you anymore." Alicia crossed her arms. "I have to go and pick up a few things. Don't you go anywhere." She narrowed her eyes, and disappeared. |
Melody shook her head, "Sorry won't fix things Holden." When he was gone, she made herself a new sandwich and sat down at the table, eating slowly.
Solomon sighed, returning to his house once he could sense it was safe. Stupid Wiccan magic. He quickly rearranged his study, throwing the sweet grass ash out the window and placing the pot plate under the pot once more. Once it was back to it's old state, he sighed again, "So Alicia..how did it go?" |
Alicia appeared next to Solomon and grabbed the book. "He's back to normal. Or as normal as he can be." She leaned against the table slightly. "I made him get rid of all black magic books. Actually I made him torch them." She sighed. "I should go and make sure he doesn't do anything stupid. Thanks for your help Solomon." She gave Solomon a one armed hug and disappeared.
Holden walked down to the kitchen, "Please tell me there is some alcohol." He searched the kitchen cabinets. He smiled slightly as he pulled out a bottle of rum. "I know there is some coke." He went to the refrigerator and pulled out a bottle of coke. He grabbed a glass and walked to the dining room. He sat down in a chair and started to make himself a drink. |
After quite some time, Mystic finally appeared back in his house. His eyes glowed a bit as he noticed something..off. Instantly, he looked to Melody who was at the table yet, still reading. "What happened here? Why do I sense light magic?" He had no doubt it had to do with Holden.
Melody looked up, thankful she put the book back and grabbed another. Mystic would be really mad if he knew she snuck it out of his study. "Well, long story short, Holden and some white witch; who was really hard to tolerate by the way, suddenly appeared on the table. This and that happened, he was 'normal' and then I yelled at him and he disappeared. Simple as that." She shrugged, her eyes going back to the book. Mystic sighed, quickly dispelling the aura from his house. It drove him nuts. "I don't know if I'm liking you like this..I should've just left you in the doll. You were much cuter then.." Melody narrowed her grey eyes slightly at the book, not bothering to look up, "Live and learn Mystic." |
Alicia appeared in the doorway of the dining room, she flipped on the lights. "Is that my rum?" She pointed to the bottle. She tossed the book onto the table, and crossed her arms. "Why did you let the magic consume you?" She walked over to Holden and grabbed the bottle. She looked at it, "It is my rum!" She smacked Holden upside the head.
Holden looked up from his glass when the light's turned on. "I don't know Alicia. I think it was the fact that I felt how much power I could have." He took a drink. He rubbed his head, "Sorry, I didn't know." He looked down. "H-..how is Solomon?" Holden asked looking up to Alicia. "Go and ask him. I see you have 'talked' to Melody." She sighed. "Go talk to Solomon, I know you want to." She took a swig from the bottle. She cleared her throat, "And you owe me a new bottle." Alicia grabbed the book and disappeared. Holden sighed and chugged the rest of his drink. "He probably doesn't want to see me." He quickly assessed how much power he had left. "I should be able to get there and back." He took a deep breath and disappeared. He appeared on Solomon's doorstep, Holden knocked. |
After a few minutes, the door suddenly opened to reveal a petite blonde woman. She smiled brightly, noddin gher head in a quick greeting, "Hiya! What can I do 'fer 'ya?" Her accent made it apparent that she was obviously from somewhere in Asia. She jumped a bit, holding up her hand to silence him, "Oh! Wait! Don't tell me..you're here...to see...Solomon! Yeah?"
|
Holden was taken aback slightly by the woman. "Um... Ya, but he can most likely sense me." He ran his hand through his white hair. "He probably also felt the burst of power when I landed." He looked down at the woman. He sighed slightly, "I'm Holden." He extended his hand. He noticed his pendant was glowing light gray, he quickly hid it under his shirt. "Don't worry about that, I'm just low on power is all." Holden said with a nervous chuckle.
|
She nodded, "Probably, but why he wouldn't answer the door I don't know..oohh waaiitttt! Holden!" She quickly stepped forward, pulling him into a tight hug, "It's been ages! Glad to see you're doing good now! Now I know why he didn't want to answer the door~ Come on! I don't care how crabby he is! You are going to see him one way or another!" She took his hand and began to drag him through the house, up to Solomon's study. She threw open the door, placing her free hand on her hip; a slight pout on her face, "Solomon James Kalika! You get your butt over here right now!" She stomped her foot, emphasizing her demand.
Solomon looked back from the window, mildly surprised at her. "I told you and your damn sisters to not answer the door. Does no one listen to me?" He sighed, turning around and shoving his hands in his pockets after waving her off, "Go dust or something Li." Li narrowed her brown eyes a bit, "You are an ass Solo. Shape up your 'tude or I quit~" She laughed a bit with a wink and scurried off, shutting the door behind her. |
Holden stood dumbfounded when the girl hugged him. He tried to say something, anything, but he couldn't. He was surprised when the woman pulled him through the house and yelled at Solomon. He looked at Solomon but quickly averted his gaze. He opened his mouth to say something, but quickly closed it.
"Say something Holden~" Alicia said in a singsong tone. "I-..I'm sorry Solomon. I should have listened to you. I-..if you don't want to see me again after this I understand." Holden looked down to the floor. |
Solomon lifted his left hand from his pocket, pinching the bridge of his nose tightly, "Why is it that you never listen to me?" He opened his sharp green eyes after a moment, staring Holden down. Suddenly he winced as Hayden gave his heart a rather intense squeeze, "Leave me alone woman!"
"Not until you be nice! Would you have done anything different if you were in his shoes?" "I could really care less what happens to Melody..she is not my responsibility" He looked back to Holden as Hayden let him go. |
"I couldn't let Melody die Solomon. I couldn't let Jaelynn go in there again and not come out. If she wouldn't of come out I would of had Seth and Serus down my throat." Holden sighed. Suddenly he cried out as his arm was snapped in half. "Damn it Alicia!" He pulled on his arm to reset it. He hovered his hand over his broken arm, his hand started to glow. He put it on his broken arm and healed it. He winced looking back at Solomon, "I'm sorry... You want me to go now right?" Holden looked down at the floor.
Alicia sat in the living room with her arms crossed. She had her eyes closed and was listening to Solomon and Holden's conversation. When she felt Holden starting to get mad she focused on his arm and broke it. |
Solomon growled, forcing Alicia from Holden's mind; rather painfully at that, and blocked off the room from her. "I said talk to Jaelynn first..see what she says! I never said anything about making her do it! Who knows, maybe she would know a few other vampires who can manipulate Ethereal energy who could help." He clenched his fists inside his pockets, a few of the vases and pots in the room cracked a bit. "You never give me a chance to fix things Holden. You always go weaseling around to do it yourself, and you always push me out of the matter. If you won't ever listen to my opinion, why do you fucking ask for it?" Solomon was not one to curse; even when he was angry, but right now he was just so furious he had no word filter.
|
"You don't always have to fix everything Solomon!" Holden's eyes turned to a dark blue. "I would rather I get hurt then you." He clenched his fists and walked closer to Solomon. The air around Holden was getting dense, "Because I want you to change my mind. I also wanted the relationship we had to mean that we could talk about anything." His anger was rising the more he spoke. He opened his mouth to say something but quickly turned around and pulled on his hair. His power lashed out and broke the table in half. He growled as his anger dissipated, he sighed and looked to Solomon. "Sorry." He walked to the table and started to say an incantation, within moments the table was as good as new. He suddenly felt dizzy, he pulled out his pendant. "Shi..." He trailed off as he fell face first on the floor unconscious. The stone in Holden's pendant was black.
|
Solomon narrowed his eyes, "I don't need...again, you pass out." He rolled his eyes, removing his block from the room as he left. He went down into his library and lay on the elegant couch. He put his arm over his eyes, letting out a quiet growl as one of the maids entered, "Leave." Hurried footsteps quickly left the room.
|
Holden started to stir as the sun hit his face. After about ten minutes he regained consciousness, "Damn it Clara." He rolled to his back. He sat up and rubbed his head. His pendant was glowing bright white, "Ya this is all your fault." He slapped his pendant. He stood up and looked around, "I should go apologize to Solomon again." Holden wanted to but his legs wouldn't move.
