Holden nodded, he slowed down contacting Alicia. "Alicia?" He asked as he entered her mind.
Alicia felt a 'knock' at her brain. She let in Holden. "Well that wasn't painful this time. Good job." She said with a smile "I did it." Holden said as he opened his eyes. "Thank you Alicia." He said with a smile. |
Solomon smiled, kissing Holden on the lips, "See? Not so hard. Just practice it at random intervals between the two of us. You'll get so used to it, it'll automatically become one simple step for you and you'll just be able to enter without waiting." He gave Holden another hug, "Have you discovered any unique powers yet?"

Holden kissed Solomon back. "I think its just because you are a great teacher." He said with a smile. He hugged Solomon back, "Other than hearing animals, I haven't found any yet." Holden said with a slight frown.

Solomon nodded, "Well hopefully they don't show at the wrong times. Well, seeing as I'm feel extremely lazy today, what do you suggest we do then?"

"How about we go for a walk. Its beautiful out." Holden said with a smile. "I just hope we don't get attacked by animals." He said with a low growl. "Or we could go work the horses." Holden said laying his head on Solomon's shoulder.

Solomon beamed, "I have an even better idea! Come with me" He lifted Holden up, one hand under his knees and the other supporting his back as he ran down the stairs with his incredible speed. They came up to the barn just as Jack was bringing the horses in. He set Holden down, "Jack, have you fitted a saddle for Kali yet?"
Jack shook his head, "Not yet, but I'm sure that Zera's would fit her pretty well. They're both similar in build after all." Without a word, Jack left to go gather the tack. "Kali has been ridding before, and broken, for the most part. She gets a little stubborn with the reins, but we should be fine for a trail, don't you think Holden?" |
Before Holden knew it he was in the barn. He stood there a little shocked, "Um sure, I still am amazed at how fast we can move." He said shaking his head. "That does sound fun though." Holden said with a smile.

He took the saddle and spare reins from Jack as he came by, "Holden, can you make sure she stays still and calm?" He glanced from Kali's back to the saddle, putting the two together in his mind while he waited for Holden. If it was a bit of an odd fit, he could always give her extra padding. He could easily ride Zera bareback, with just a bit and reins; he's done it before. Holden would need a saddle though, just in case. "After the ride I'll have to measure her and get her her own saddle, as well as Damien. Although..Jack, can get you get that saddle for Rilov?"
The man nodded and hurried off. Solomon leaned over to Holden, "I got it for him to get him used to it, but of course, never rode him. Damien as a similar structure since he's still young, but he'll bulk up soon, yes. I'll have to get him his own saddle as well. Oh! Check with Damien, see what he wants to do. Zera would even just follow alongside us, just so she wouldn't be alone. She's very well behaved." |
Holden nodded and looked at Kali, "We aren't going to hurt you we are just gonna go for a walk, ok?" Holden said trying to keep her calm.
"I like him, he helped Rilov. You seem nice too." "She likes you Solomon." Holden said with a smile. "Thank you, I told you I wasn't evil. Now can you stand still while he puts the saddle on you?" Holden said as he went to check on Damien in the next stall. "Ok." He stopped in front of Damien. "Do you wanna come on a walk with us?" He asked. "I don't trust you fully." "He is nice Damien, come on a walk with us." "Thank you Kali." Holden said with a nod. "I will go but I don't trust you. "Thank you Damien. He said walking over to Zera. "How are you doing Zera?" He asked kindly. "I miss Rilov." "I'm sure he is fine, ok?" He asked as he pet her neck. |
Solomon entered the stall while Holden went to talk to Damien, "I don't want a horse that doesn't trust me, that's just nerve wracking." He rolled his eyes, keeping track of the conversation between Holden and the horses.
He gently placed the saddle on Kali's back, looking it over, "Holden, can you relay Kali's thoughts directly to me? It'll be easier to fit the saddle if she can tell me where it pinches." The saddle looked a little wide on the back, and that worried him. It could really press on her ribs and shift them. "Do you think that'll be okay Kal? I could put extra padding below to raise it up a bit so the pressure is distributed more." |
"Ya I can." Holden said as he created a link between Solomon, Kali, and himself.
"It feels weird, maybe put some padding. This is the first time someone has asked me if the saddle feels ok." Holden smiled as he listened to Kali, "Well you have never had a vampire owner." He said. |
He nodded, "Wait here." He left, leaving the door open not really worried about her sneaking out. He came back with some various forms of padding, including a thick western blanket. He lifted the saddle, putting the blanket down first, then a riser pad, then the saddle, adjusting it. "Does that feel alright? I have a wider riser pad that we can use yet." He inspected it again, it looked better, but definitely only a temporary thing.

"It does feel better."
"Just let us know if it starts to hurt, ok?" Holden asked with a smile. "So where are we going?" "Just for a trail ride." He said for a smile. |
He pulled the girth from his shoulder, quickly working to fasten it. He pulled the bridle off and put it over her face, pre-measuring it, "I'm sorry that it's Zera's, but it's the only one I have for now. The rest should be here tomorrow." He put it in her mouth quickly adjusting it to her face size, "Does it feel alright?"
Zera snorted, kicking the stall door a few times while she bobbed her head. "Yeah yeah, you're coming with us. Just relax." |
"It's ok, it feels good."
"Damien wants to come." Holden said pointing to Damien. He smiled at Zera. "Crazy horses." He thought to himself. |
"Well he better behave or he's getting swatted." He led Kali from the stall, handing the reins to Holden, "There's a block in the arena to help you up while I get Damien ready."
He grabbed some more padding and experimented with various combination to make the most comfortable for Damien. He used Holden's link with Damien to communicate with him about the matter, "I know you don't trust me, but honestly, you have no reason to worry. Alright? Just give me a chance, eh?" |
"Ok." Holden said as he led Kali to the arena. "You know you are a very beautiful horse." He said with a smile.
"I know I am." He got to the arena and found the mounting block. "Stay right there I will just be a sec." Holden said as he went to get to mounting block. He grabbed it and set it down next to Kali. "Now hold still please." He said as he got on the block. He swung his left leg over and gently sat on Kali. "There now how does that feel?" He asked as he adjusted himself. "It feels fine. You know you are very chatty." "I'm sorry." He said with a frown. "My last rider was very quiet I didn't like it so much, so its ok." She said as she nodded her head. Holden smiled. Damien snorted. |
Solomon scoffed, "Watch your 'tude boy or you're staying here." He patted the stallion's neck and led him out to the area. As he walked by Zera's stall, he opened the door to allow her out. She nickered, hurrying out with a bouncy walk.
Solomon quickly adjusted Damien's girth and snapped the reins on and hauling himself up with the aid of the block. He adjusted his stirrups and walked over to Holden, "You two feeling good? How's the saddle?" |
"She say's its good, she also said that I'm chatty." Holden said with a smile. "Your gonna have to lead the way, because I don't know where the trail is." He said taking in a deep breath.

"They're wide enough where you can walk beside me once we get there, alright?" He gently tapped Damien's sides, but the horse remained where he stood. "Really? You're going to be that way.." He tapped Damien's sides again with a frown. The horse snorted, but decided to walk. He wasn't happy about listening to Solomon but he'd do it anyway.
Solomon led them outside and through the gate of the outdoor area, "There's really no specific trail though Holden, so wherever you want to go is fine." |
"Ok." Holden said as he gently kicked Kali's sides. She followed Solomon.
*** They arrived back at the arena. "That was fun." He said smiling at Solomon. "How are you feeling Kali?" He asked rubbing her neck. "I feel great." Her ears started moving around really fast. Holden could tell something was up with Kali. "What's wrong?" He asked smelling around. "Something's coming." "What do you mean?" He asked as he felt someone starting to appear. "Shit." He said as Kali reared up. Holden fell off of Kali cracking his head on the ground. "Damn it!" He yelled grabbing his head. "I told you I be back." Mrs. Winters said with a evil smile. |
"Damien you have to trust me now" he said as he felt someone teleporting. He quickly stood on Damiens back as they entered the arena and jumping off, "Get!" He swatted Zera and Damien on their hindquarters, shooing them outside just as Jennifer appeared. He cursed slightly as he saw Kali rear and throw Holden off. For once, he wasn't worried about Holden. It felt..good.
He knew, however, if those two fought, Holden would be in trouble, but Solomon would take care of Jennifer before that could happen. He wasted no time with words on her, she was not here to listen to his threats. He lashed at her with his telekinetic power, "You always have to ruin my day, don't you Jennifer?" |
"What is a mother to do when her husband is dead and her daughter is a disgrace?" She said as she dodged Solomon's attack.
Holden got off of the ground, "GO!" he yelled to Kali. "Mrs. Winters what is a bitch like you doing here?" He asked crossing his arms. "How dare you talk to me like that you disgusting creature." She said as she sent a telekinetic blast at Holden. He didn't know how to fight, but he tried to move when the blast came but he wasn't able to. He went flying through the fence. |
Solomon disappeared reappearing behind Holden, catching him as he went through the hair, "You need to go...You may be a vampire now, but she could seriously hurt you either way."
He let Holden go, looking back to Jennifer, "Get out of my town, Jennifer. You are trespassing and I don't tolerate trespassers." |
Holden nodded, "Be careful." He said as he teleported to the house.
"So you turned that despicable creature. You have brought shame upon yourself. I will kill you, and then I will kill that creature." Jennifer said as she pointed at Solomon. |
Solomon couldn't help but chuckle, "I'm sorry to disappoint you, but even in my weakened state, you can't possibly hope to kill me." He crossed his arms, his eyes turning red and glowing brightly. "Just save yourself t he humiliation and leave. Alright?" He really was not looking forward to his brand new barn being destroyed. "Alicia..your damn mother is here."

"Oh my fucking god, are you serious?" Alicia asked as she face palmed herself.
"I'm not going anywhere until I have that boy's head on a stick." Jennifer said with an evil laugh. Alicia blocked her mother from sensing Alicia's presence. She teleported herself behind her mother. She had a broken off broom handle. "Hello mother." Alicia said waiting for her mother to turn around. "You damn child." Jennifer said as she turned around. When her mother turned around she jammed the broom handle into her heart. "That's for disowning me." Alicia said as her mother fell to the ground. "Handing you your death was fun. Its too bad we can't do it again." She said with an evil smile. She looked at Solomon, "Don't look at me like that, you got to kill my father." Alicia said as she walked over to Solomon. "Is Holden alright?" She asked having her hands in her pocket. |
Solomon shrugged, "I wasn't giving you a look. He's fine." He turned and went outside, whistling for the horses, not seeing them in the outdoor arena. "Damn woman must've driven them off. Fucking Christ. I'll be back." He walked off, searching his property for the horses, running around at intense speeds, not wanting to teleport right now.

"Sorry." Alicia said as she teleported to Holden. "How are you doing?" She asked taking her hands out of her pocket.
"I'm fine, I wish I knew how to fight though." Holden said with a sigh as he sat on his bed. "Don't worry me and Solomon will teach you. But you don't have to worry about my mother anymore." She said as she sat down on the bed next to Holden. "Solomon killed her?" Holden asked. "No I did." Alicia said nonchalantly. "Wait you killed her?" He asked surprised. "Ya, why are you so surprised?" She asked slightly insulted. "I just can't picture you killing someone." He said with a shrug. "That hurts Holden, right here." She said patting her chest by her heart. "It doesn't even beat anymore hun." Holden said with a smile. "Ouch, why don't you just stick a dagger in there?" Alicia said as she fake stabbed herself in the heart. "Oh shush up, you know I love you." He said pulling the fake dagger out. "I know." She said giving him a hug. Holden hugged her back. |
Solomon stopped for a moment, he could sense them nearby. He whistled loudly, Zera coming almost out of nowhere as he did so. She trotted up to him, nudging him hard with her head, almost knocking him over, "Yes, I missed you too, love. Now, where are those other two trouble makers?" She snorted, throwing her head to the side, "Let me guess, too damn scared?" She bobbed her head up and down. "Bah, come on." He quickly hauled himself to her back, holding her mane with one hand, "Shall we?" She nickered and trotted off, knowing exactly where to go. Once the ground became smother, she broke out into a gallop.

Holden sighed, "I need to take a shower." He said as he stood up.
"Wow without Solomon. Quelle surprise." Alicia said with a giggle. "Be quiet." He said waving his hand at her. He grabbed some clothes and a towel. "If you wanna make yourself useful you can do something." He said with a laugh. Holden went into the bathroom and locked the door. "Ouch, maybe I will rip up your paintings." Alicia said with a evil smile. If you do I will break your arm." He yelled from the bathroom. Holden hopped into the shower. "Good luck with that." Alicia said with a smile. |
Solomon sighed, mainly with relief, as they came upon the two horses, "You two, are in big trouble. Come on." He slid off Zera back, patting her hindquarters and sending her galloping home. He walked up to Kali and Damien, hauling himself into Damien's saddle. he lifted Kali's reins with telekinesis, unclipping one side and holding it in his hand as he kicked Damien's side. The two horses took off in full gallop back towards the manor.

Holden got out of the shower, he dried off and got dressed. "Alicia? Are you still here?" He asked as he opened the door.
"Ya Holden what's up?" Alicia asked looking at Holden. "Um I was wondering if there was a dry cleaners near by." He asked walking out of the bathroom. "Ya a few miles away, why?" She asked confused. "I wanna get my jacket cleaned, and then do you know a store that sells leather jacket?" He asked sitting down to put his shoes on. "Ya actually right next door to the dry cleaners, they have some nice jackets." She said with a smile. "Ah sweet." He said with a smile." Solomon can I use the Ferrari to take my jacket to the cleaners?" He asked as he stood up. "Wanna come with Alicia?" Holden asked walking to the door. "Sure why not. Plus I can help you pick out a jacket." Alicia said with a smile. |
"Go ahead..like I said..just be careful. Oh! You will drive at normal speeds,and Alicia you make sure he does. Understand? I'm about 10 minutes away from the manor so I'll most likely be back just after you leave."

"Thank you, and I will be careful. Also I always drive normal speed." Holden said grabbing Alicia's and and teleporting them to the garage.
"I have permission to kick his ass if he doesn't right?" Alicia asked as Holden teleported them to the garage. "Next time warn me before you teleport you made me dizzy." She said grabbing the car for balance. "Sorry." He said as he got into the car. "You better be." She said as she got into the car. *** About thirty minutes later they arrived at the dry cleaners. Holden took his jacket in and met Alicia in the jacket store. "Did you find anything? He asked as he walked up to Alicia. "Ya I did. Here it is." Alicia said as she handed the jacket to Holden. "Try it on." She said with a smile. Holden put on the jacket, "I love it." He said looking at the jacket in the mirror. He looked to his right and saw a pair of leather pants. "I want these pants." He said as he walked over and grabbed the pants. "Really Holden, leather pants? That's so cliche." Alicia said putting her hands on her hips. "What do you mean?" He asked looking for his size. "It's just so, I don't know how to say it." She said thinking. "Well I am getting them anyway. I think Solomon would love them." He said with a wink. "Well thank you for that image." Alicia said rubbing her eyes. "Your welcome." Holden said with a smile as he put the jacket and pants on the counter. |
Solomon worked to get the two horses undressed and and brushed down ,"After some time indoors to cool, I'll let you back out to the pasture." He put all the materials in their respective areas then headed back into the manor. Jack would let them out after a few minutes. Solomon pondered what he was going to do while he waited for Holden to come back.
"You don't really think that," Jaclynn began as she materialized before him, "turning Holden was for his benefit? Do you?" She sat down on the couch in his study, crossing her legs. "You're just being selfish...and in about 30 years or so, you'll get bored of him and move on..just like last time." |
"I think I'm gonna buy my own car." Holden said as he got into the Ferrari.
"Why?" Alicia asked as she got in. "So I don't have to ask Solomon to use his car all of the time." He said as he started the car. "You know he doesn't mind." She said as she put the bag with Holden's old pants between her feet. "I know but I would just feel better." He said as he turned on the GPS. He programmed it to the closest Ferrari dealership. "I'm sure Solomon wont mind if we are gone for a little while longer." He said as he backed up. "Oh no you are not buying a Ferrari." Alicia said when she saw where Holden programmed their destination. "Yes I am. I have the money to buy one." He said as he stuck out his tongue. "Ya your gonna blow it all on a damn car, its bad enough you just blew $3,000 on a jacket and pants." She said as she crossed her arms. "Do you know how much my father gave me?" He asked as he followed the directions. "No I don't." She said sulking. "Listen." He said as he grabbed his phone. He dialed a few numbers and handed it to Alicia. When Alicia heard the figure her mouth dropped to the floor. "Oh my..." She started to say but couldn't finish. "Ya I know, and that doesn't have the 3 g's subtracted from it." He said closing his phone. "$40 million." She whispered. "Yes $40 million." He said with a smile. *** "There that will be at the house tomorrow." Holden said with a smile as he backed out of the dealership. "I can't believe you just spent $300,000 on a Ferrari California." Alicia said shaking her head. "Hey I paid to get it rushed and to have it converted from paddle shifter to manual." He said with a smile. "You are an idiot." She said with a sigh. "Takes one to know one." He said with a laugh. "Sorry Solomon, me and Alicia are on our way back now." Holden said to Solomon. "Ass." Alicia said with a pout. |
"It was 74 years, first off, secondly, I wasn't bored, he was just not who I thought. Now if you're just here to annoy me you can just leave. I'm already thoroughly annoyed from Jennifer." He sat down in his chair, watching Jaclynn boredly with gray eyes. "Well?"
She smiled darkly, "Solomon, dear, you know I never just drop by to entertain myself, I always have a more important reason. Either way, I was here to tell your little extension was up, but seeing as your little boy toy is already a vampire, I don't have to worry." "That's fine you two...I would suggest taking the long way home Holden. I have an unwelcomed guest right now." Solomon rolled his eyes slightly, "I have a feeling that you're lying ot me Jaclynn..what do you really want?" |
"Ok..." Holden said confused. "I wonder what that is about." He said quickly glancing at Alicia.
"Don't worry, hey how about we stop for ice cream?" She said knowing that Jaclynn was at Solomon's house. "Um sure." He said still confused. "Turn left up here, I know the perfect place." She said with a smile. *** "Aw this place is cute." Holden said as he got out of the car. "I know that's why I told you to come here." Alicia said with a smile, as she got out of the car. "They have the best Rocky Road ever." She said skipping up to Holden. "You and your Rocky Road." He said grabbing her arm. They headed into the little shoppe. |
Jaclynn appeared insulted, "You don't believe me? I'm hurt." She had a pained look on her face as she closed her eyes, putting her hands over her heart, "You're so cruel Solomon." She instantly recomposed to her normal cold demeanor. "Either way, you're right...but I won't be telling you. It's a secret." She winked and disappeared.
Solomon rolled his eyes as she left, "Bitch.." He stood, tempted to throw the couch out the window since she touched it. He chuckled slightly at the thought. He shook his head slightly as he headed downstairs to the garage. |
