it's crazy when it happens though, this is only the second time i saw prices get weird, though the last time it was a dip not an influx, though for sure next month will be a lot better, i think the extra colors did it honestly, have you seen all the rave hair?
Choco has a point.
Lucid did also mention it. With more colors comes higher prices. |
omg o__O 3k for 10 runes? it's crazy price ~ is this month items worth it ?
That should have no affect and is no excuse. Taking advantage of an influx of buyers is not a very appropriate action.
So what if there are a couple extra colors. If thats whats cause the camotion I wish we had the normal amount of colors. -.- |

well i don't speak for every seller or buyer but if an item /seems/ worth it why shouldn't they pay what they will? you do still need to look at both sides
honestly i think /this/ item is worth the price and if i would buy it for 6k why would i not sell it for the same price? |
Well damn I was not even aware that it would have an affect anything near this. Honestly I am so pissed about it because the exchange is my home... When that galls to crap so does the rest of the community. -.-
Choco the reason is that it grossly upsets the balance of trade! If people buy the runes to buy only that item, the other item becomes more scarce and the its price will skyrocket out of proportions when it is gone!
people are buying lots of the vi too, granted it's like 2-1 in favor of rave but still there are many showing up, believe me i would only get vics if no-one bought them
Is that why no one sells me runes? Because they are wanting a stupid amount for them? Come on people.... >.<
The only thing I'm saying is that grossly auto inflating atable prices for an item that you know someone wants it against unwritten exchanger code of conduct. Its just plain not right.
Sadly, this "code of conduct" is equivalent to "bad business" in a free market. Operating on an honor system is anathema to the principles of capitalism. I'm not saying this is a GOOD thing, but that's the way economics works. Supply and demand. The people who control the supply adjust the prices to balance the demand.
They aren't adjusting their prices properly.
so you'd rather a person not sell anything at all than to sell too high when noone else is selling?
I'd rather prices be fair.
That is, in fact, what a free market would encourage: If no one is buying at the price you're willing to sell it for, then you either lower your prices (if you need liquid assets NOW) or you hold on to it as an investment (in case someone will buy it for that price LATER). You of course have to balance the investment risk; if you're holding out for a price higher than anyone will ever pay, you've misvalued your non-liquid assets and you're not as wealthy as you think you are.
