Dark and Alexander were able to quickly navigate the underground passage ways back to the place they had started and emerged behing the waterfall to see the sky turning vivid colors. "We made it back in time to see the sunset." And that meant they had been in the tunels for several hours longer then it had seemed.

he looked out to the painted sky. the entire world of pastel lived in the air. he reached up to touch it though he knew he could not reach. "everything is beautiful. how could one ever wish to leave it." it was not a question and was not intended to be said aloud but once it was spoken it could not be taken back

"One does not wish to leave it, it must happen though, wether we want to or not." Dark said softly taking in the carefree image Alexander was currently making.

he pulled back his hand, the moment lost "but why?"

"I have this unfortunate thing called a job and house that I should take care of, besides as great as this place is one can only live here so long before their prensece would soil it. Humans are such needy creatures." Dark said with a fleeting wisp of sadness/

he did not understand but he felt as if this was one of those questions the other could not explain. he let it go "dark, i am hungry"

"Then let us eat." Dark said with a smile and walked back towards where they had left the suplies. Thankfully it remained undisturded from were they had left it. Dark picked up the food and utensils, "Eat here or find someplace else?" Dark asked Alexander.

"here is fine" he did not care where they at as long as they ate together "the water is nice and there is still sun left.

"Great," And with that Dark sat down on the rock and opened the salad for Alexander and himself, "I hope you don't mind not having sald dressing." Dark said, "We appear to have forgotten it."

he smiled. he didn't know what salad dressing was but it could not have been so important. sitting beside the other he took the offered portion and the silverware that accompanied it "and noone knows of this place but us?"

"I haven't seen anyone else here and I have not told anyone else." Dark said not really knowing wether anyone else knew about it. "It does not appear to have any other people visit it though, I have looked for signs."

he nodded appreciatively. "that is nice then, this is a hidden glen. is that why the fairies come here?"

Dark blinked once, then twice. "Fairies?" Dark asked. As far as he knew no supernatural being resided here either.

"you said there was a magic place, that is why we came" he was confused

"Oh," Dark said remembering having said that, "I said it was like magic, I don't think my earth actually holds true magic." Dark tried to explain, but was not wuite sure on details, "If it does it hasn't been accessed in many years, and the truelly magical being no longer walk here."

"oh" he said, though he did not feel as crestfallen as he would have yesterday. he kind of liked being here with the other doing everything and nothing. it was lovely even without a hint of magic.

Dark smiled at Alexander's facial expression. "This place was the most likly to have magic though so I was wondering can you tell if a place is magical or is it a guess and check game?"

"i don't know" he closed his eyes and felt for it, all he could feel was dark though, everywhere even on himself. he opened his eyes "i can't tell, your magic is all over me, i cannot feel anything but you

"My magic?" Dark asked, confused and surprised. He did not believe he had magic and voiced his thoughts.

"mmhm" he affirmed "you touch me and it stays" he reached a had to the other and brushed it against his neck "it is everywhere on me, even my magic is not as strong"

"How can I have magic, I was born on a magically null planet?" Dark asked very confused. "Especially since you where born on a magical plane." Even if he, by some anonomy, had magic it should be weaker then Alexanders.

he had no answer to give the other. he felt magic and it was a lasting one, it eclipsed his own though it did not flare as bright as the book. he if he were the sort to he would have shrugged instead he gave the best answer he could though it was really no answer at all "you made me"

"I made no one," Dark said. "I found your book." He had found the book in the library and picked it up. He had done nothing to create anyone or anything.

"before you picked it up i was nothing. you made me"

"That doesn't make sense how could you not be before I picked up your book?" Darkw as trying to wrap his mind arounf the concept and it was not working.

he had no answer, he did not know why he only knew it was so

At Alexander's silence Dark assumed he knew not either. "Onto light subjects?" He then asked.

he nodded setting down his partially eaten meal "though i don't know much about lighting i am afraid"

Dark blinked the4n relized thaat Alexander had taken him literally. "I meant on less confusing topic. Lightning is cause by the flow or air and clouds."

"ah." he pondered for a moment trying to think of a fair exchange for the tidbit of information offered. he drew a blank though for he knew little of clouds "...um, new topic? i do not i confess, know much on clouds either"

Dark shrugged, "I'm not that into clouds either. Is there a topic you know a lot about or would like to talk about?"

"books" he said without a pause. it was a subject he knew about, and well

"What kind of books?" Dark said leaning in. "Fiction, non-fiction, action, adventure, or biographies?" Books he knew and enjoyed.

'all books of course' he would not have proposed it if he did not feel capable of holding his own

"Let us start with classical literature then, 'Julius Caesat' by William SHakespeare." Dark said excitedly. Literature was his forte.

he looked out into the horizen as if reciting some speech by heart. "a story about a man named brutus, a real man though a dramatization of his character, a man known for killing the emporor who spared him. damned to be forever consumed by one of the three mouths of satan. the story was written around the 17th century. 'you all did love him once, not without cause. what cause withholds you then to mourn for him?'" he sighed

"I'd call you correct but then there would be no conversation." Dark said with a grin, "At the beginning of the story, who where the conspirors and why did they decided to kill the newly minted Emperor? And," Dark had a faroff look in his eyes, like he was there but not rally there, "Why did they not want Brutus to speak at the public mourning?"

(if it's bad forgive me, i don't know the story's reasons and my book is out of hand so i may be off)

"he was not pleased with how his friend sought to run things and was bribed and coerced by the others to side against his man. it was a cruel thing" he looked at the other. he died within two months of being promoted to dictatorship

(No worries, they can have a different Julius Ceaser book)

"Correct," Dark said, "And now this isn't about the content but the outside, what was first Julius Ceaser bound with?"

"it was not bound at all" it was a stupid question to ask "next one wha-" he broke out in a large yawn
