Raven blinked, staying quiet for a moment. "I know he's good at what he does. And I know he'll do everything in his power to be back here in a week," he replied. "In the mean time, all we do is wait. So as far as I'm concerned he was just joking around, and we'll think of a way to get back at him for it when he comes back."
Laurel looked rather lost, "You... have a confusing way of thinking." she decided, "Do you always think it circles like that?"
Raven shrugged. "Maybe it's all the sleep I got."
Laurel nodded, "I'm going to check on Nic." she decided, "I feel like if i don't remind him, he'll forget to eat, sleep on breathe on that computer." she fussed with a sigh.
Raven chuckled a little. "Say hi for me," he told her. "And straighten your clothes before you see him."
Laurel blinked before blushing slightly and smoothing out her clothes as best she could.
A few minutes later Laurel silently opened Nic's door and peeked inside. |
Nic was still at his computer, screen flashing away. But his head was laying on his arm off to the side. It looked like he had fallen asleep while he was working.
Laurel took a moment to roll her eyes as she slipped inside and quietly shut the door behind her. She made her way over to him and squatted down beside him, running her fingers gently through his hair, "Hey..." she whispered to Nic before kissing his cheek.
It took him a little while, but Nic slowly woke up. As he blinked open his eyes, he looked rather confused.
"Morning handsome." Laurel smirked, "I figured this would happen." she sighed as she began to rub his neck.
Nic seemed confused for another minute, but then managed to get over it. He glanced at the computer screen and pushed a few buttons before sitting up and stretching a little.
"C'mon." Laurel said as he sat up, "Take a real break and lay down on the couch." she latched her arm under one of his and started to hoist him up.
Nic looked like he wanted to complain, but he didn't. He didn't rely on her too much to get up, but let her feel like she was helping.
Laurel let Nic go once he was on the couch as she went to grab a spare blanket.
So Nic sat on the couch half asleep, not sure if he was supposed to fully wake up or not.
Laurel half draped the blanket over him before sitting down on one end of the couch, "C'mere." she smiled gently reaching out and tugging his neck towards her lap.
