Wolfe immediately took after the Juttle.
After about four hours, a Juttle was seen overhead Naven's position. Wolfe flew down in a small hoover craft. |
Nic had landed them in the middle of no where. Raven seemed overjoyed to leave, while Nic was waking up from a nap. Well, at least they hadn't killed each other. But it looked like Nic had somehow procured Raven's shirt.
|
Wolfe patted Raven's arm before loading them all into the hovercraft and taking them back to the Juttle.
Laurel was sitting on the couch, still tense and curled into a ball. Wolfe sighed as they entered, "She hasn't moved." |
Raven didn't seem to mind being topless. He was just happy that they were leaving, and that he hadn't lost his shoes. But Nic seemed really tired. Neither of them said a word to each other.
When they got back to the Juttle and saw Laurel, Raven and Nic had a bit of a staring contest for a few moments. Then Nic went and sat down on the couch next to Laurel quietly. |
Laurel didn't notice him. As Nic got closer, he could hear that Laurel was faintly humming to herself.
|
Nic got comfortable on the couch, intending to wait out Laurel's illusion.
Raven scratched his head a little as it started to get awkward to watch Nic and stand next to Wolfe topless. |
Wolfe reached over and grabbed Raven's arm, leading him towards the back. "You're not hurt anywhere, right?" he asked, looking him over.
Finally Laurel turned her head a little, looking blankly at Nic. She seemed to be living a nightmare but she recognized him. "... Nic?" she asked quietly, voice shaking a little. |
Raven shook his head. He had a few scratches and dirt smudges, but he probably got them during the landing. Nothing a shower wouldn't fix.
Nic nodded a little to Laurel. |
Wolfe checked him over anyway. "... Sorry for dropping you," he murmured after a pause.
Laurel continued to stare at him for a long moment before she slowly tried to uncurl herself. She found she couldn't, her muscles had cramped from the tension. "... N-Nic..." she whispered. |
Raven was quiet for a moment. "... It's alright," he replied quietly.
Nic sighed a little before pulling Laurel closer and slowly massaging her muscles a little to help her straighten out. |
"It's not," Wolfe argued, "I did it without thinking, I'd just said I wouldn't and then-" he cut himself off and cussed a little.
"Nic..." Laurel whispered, eyes still filled with darkness, "hold me." |
"You did what seemed best in the moment," Raven replied, reaching out and rubbing Wolfe's arm a little. "So don't beat yourself up... but you do probably owe me." The last bit was in a half teasing, half joking tone.
Nic paused, something odd lingering in his eyes for a few moments before he dismissed it. Then he laid down on the couch and put his arms around Laurel. |
Wolfe paused before suddenly reaching out and hugging Raven tightly.
Laurel slowly started to relax and managed to reached out, wrapping her arms around Nic and clinging to him. |
Raven hugged Wolfe back tightly, but not as tight as when they had been free falling.
|
"Well isn't this just special," Rosen drawled loudly from the front of the Juttle, "Glad things are all hunky-dory again but we've still got to get somewhere." Laurel ignored him but Wolfe pulled away from Raven with a sigh.
|
Raven glared at Rosen a little. Really? They were already late, did another minute really matter?
Nic looked like he was tuning everyone out. |
Wolfe chuckled a little, patting Raven's arm, "Get some rest," he suggested before turning to the front of the Juttle.
|
Raven sighed a little before making his way back to his room.
|
When the resort came into sight, the shuttle shook with Wolfe's curses.
Even Laurel turned her head a little to stare at Wolfe in the pilot chair. "You've seriously got to be kidding me?!" he snapped. Rosen was laughing a little. "Shut up, this isn't funny! She said it was a floating resort!" Wolfe was apparently angry enough to lose his cool, which was rare indeed. |
Raven walked out of his room with a yawn to see what was going on.
Nic somehow managed to ignore Wolfe. |
After a moment, Laurel turned and tucked her face back into Nic's chest.
Raven soon saw the reason why Wolfe lost his composure. |
"Whoa!" Raven exclaimed excitedly before the excitement drained away. "... Oh..." he muttered. Yep, Wolfe was going to be miserable. He put his hand on Wolfe's shoulder.
|
Wolfe was cursing Kandy under her breath. He seemed to be getting his composure back.
Rosen rolled his eyes as he brought them in for a landing. |
Raven stayed by Wolfe as they landed. But it didn't look like Nic and Laurel were gonna move anytime soon.
|
As the three of them got out and looked around, it quickly became aparent that this resort hadn't been used in awhile. And after moment, Wolfe looked pissed off all over again.
|
Water and dust. Two of Wolfe's least favorite things. So much for hoping to spend some more quality time with Wolfe anytime soon.
|
Wolfe took a minute longer to compose himself, then he turned back to Raven and Rosen, "Let's find the others."
|
Raven didn't complain as they started searching for everyone else.
|
They found Frei early enough. She was sitting by the dirty pool and looking at the three huge slides this resort had. Then turned and looked at their group with accusing eyes.
|
Raven went over to Frei so Wolfe wouldn't have to. "Sorry we're late," he told Frei.
|
Frei looked very displeased but she nodded to Raven before standing and walking right over to Wolfe. She stared up at him for a long moment. Wolfe nodded slightly and suddenly, Frei grinned, looking back at Raven with mischievous eyes.
|
"... Uh..." Raven muttered, glancing between Wolfe and Frei.
|
It was soon pretty apparent to Raven that Frei knew about their little mid-flight date.
Rosen already looked bored, "Where's the gaming room on this thing?" he muttered, yawning as he looked around. |
Raven started wondering if Frei had suggested it. At Rosen's question, Raven looked to Frei, assuming she had a better picture of the place than they did.
|
Frei didn't seem to know. She'd probably stopped at the pool.
So the group continued forward, running into Snow in the gardens. She was looking at the different parrots that had taken residence in the overgrown mass of plants. She glanced at them, "You're late!" she called, "What were you two doing~?" she asked in a teasing, dirty voice. |
"Saving Nic and me," Raven replied easily.
|
Snow raised an eyebrow, "Uh huh," she replied, "Well everyone seems to be in a bad mood so I came to the garden. I suppose you'll make us all clean now," she stated, eyeing Wolfe.
|
Raven glanced over at Wolfe.
|
Wolfe didn't reply, instead he turned and kept walking. Frei grabbed Raven's hand and dragged him along behind.
Wolfe led them down to the living areas. The rooms seemed somewhat cleaner than outside but Wolfe's nose still scrunched up a little. "Pick a room," he told the others before exploring a little. It looked like Kale and Zala had already found rooms. Zala was caring for him now since Blaze was still fired up for reasons that escaped Kale. |
So Raven grabbed a room and transferred his things before cleaning up his room a bit.
