Laurel raised her eyebrows, "You and a trained, genetically designed assassin... who knew?" she mused, "What attracted you to him?" she asked curiously, "The hair?"
"Besides the hair, perfect body, and the way he rocks out on that violin?" Raven paused a moment after chuckling, trying to find the right words. "... He has a really rough life. But still, he has a huge heart for helping others. I may not agree with all of his decisions, but I admire how he can manage controlling the rest of his nutty family, raising Frei, finding the laboratory, and putting up with the rest of us without going completely psychotic. It'll probably be a rough relationship, but I think he's worth it."
Laurel chuckled, amused, "You know... we're pretty similar," she decided when he was done, "We both picked gang-influenced, borderline crazy boyfriends. I think our lives would be so much simpler if we'd actually be boyfriend and girlfriend," she teased, shoving him a little with her shoulder.
Raven rolled his eyes a little. "That would be easier if I was bi, but I'm not."
Laurel chuckled, "Maybe you would turn bi for me," she teased, flipping her head around flirtatiously and looking at him through her eye lashes before bursting out into giggles. Rosen grunted a complaint from her lap.
"If I could, I already would have," Raven teased back before pinching her nose.
Laurel continued to smile before sighing lightly and leaning her head on Raven's shoulder, "You really never fail to make me laugh," she mused, "You're an excellent fake boyfriend."
"Why, thank you," Raven replied.
"... Can I ask you a question, fake boyfriend?" she suddenly asked quietly.
"Uh..." Raven replied, "No, I'm not a cat person."
Laurel shifted a little. There had been a bit of a serious air around her until that answer. She paused and then asked a question in a completely different tone, "What do you think of Nic?" It was obvious she had changed her mind on asking something else.
Raven didn't catch the serious air until it was too late. "... I don't know," he replied after a moment. "Does he make you happy?"
"... Sometimes," she replied.
Raven shifted a little, silent for a long time. Then he asked, "Do you think that will ever change?"
"I... doubt he'll change," she decided after a moment, "But... he's finally starting to let me in a little. And the more glimpses of that vulnerable Nic that I see, the more I understand I'll never stop loving him." She sighed a little, "It's frightening," she admitted, "He's hurt me so many times but now I have an understanding of why... and that doesn't make it right... but I'm justifying his actions now."
Raven didn't say anything more, since he was unsure if it was his place to say anything more.
Laurel sighed a little, "What would you do... if Wolfe kept abusing you emotionally but you knew that he had a very good reason from his past as to why he was doing it?"
Raven blinked, surprised by the question. He sighed a little as he put some serious thought into it. After a long time he decided, "It depends on the abuse and how hard he was trying to change it."
Laurel paused, "He's trying... but going no where fast. The abuse isn't... well it isn't abuse like yelling or anything. I'd almost prefer it was that. He just gets into these states where he shuts me out. Completely shuts me out. He's scared to lose control of himself I think." she closed her eyes slowly, "I'm used to it, I guess, because that's what my father did the last few years. But that doesn't make it easier when he makes me feel like I don't exist."
Raven sighed as he put an arm around Laurel. "... You should let him know how this makes you feel," he suggested.
"He's so burdened right now, I don't want to make him feel worse about himself. Maybe... I'll tell him later," she sighed before snuggling a little closer to Raven, "Sorry... for killing your happy mood. I swear... we'll... have fun in... Costo Berda," she mumbled, clearly starting to drift away.
Raven sighed and got a little more comfortable before Laurel fell asleep on him.
After about an hour there was a knock on the side window by the couch. Pink hair flew by.
Raven yawned a little; he had dozed off. He slowly glanced over at the window, wondering if he had really heard that.
There was knocking now, louder this time.
"Huh?" Raven asked, still partially thinking he was asleep.
Wolfe face appeared at the window, hair streaming behind him. He knocked again, face starting to show some annoyance as he gestured to the small door on the side of the juttle.
Raven blinked, not believing what he was seeing. But then again... He gently pushed Laurel to the side so he could stand. Then he went over to the side door.
As soon as the door opened, Wolfe gushed inside, half knocking Raven over. "Took you long enough," he growled quietly.
That seemed to wake Raven up. "... Didn't know you'd be dropping by," he replied.
"Hmm," Wolfe replied, looking around, "Looks pretty boring here."
Raven glanced over at Laurel and Rosen. "Everyone's tired," he said with a shrug.
Wolfe paused, adjusting his jet pack, "You... want to fly?" he suddenly asked.
"... Huh?" Raven asked.
Wolfe suddenly smirked, it was a very sly smirk. "Fly," he repeated before grabbing Raven in a tight hug and jumping right back out the door.
Raven let out a shout as Wolfe jumped back outside, immediately wrapping his arms and legs around him in a death grasp as his face paled.
Wolfe laughed, dropping a few hundred feet before activating his jetpack and evening out. His arms were strong, like iron as they held Raven.
Raven shouted all the way down. Once he evened out, Raven started to get a hold of himself and some color came back into his face.
Wolfe was laughing again, "You scream like girl," he informed him before taking off again, this time upwards.
Raven didn't appear to care so much about his appearance right now as he buried his face in Wolfe's shoulder.
