"Ya I will come out with you, the new horses like me better anyway." Holden said with a smile. "I will have someone come in to do that since it is my blood." He said looking at Solomon. "I will be fine Solomon, I feel fine." Holden said giving Solomon a smile.

"Don't worry about it Holden, I will take care of it. Just relax for awhile, alright?" He stood, bending forward to give Holden a quick kiss on the forehead, "I'm rather particular when it comes to cleaning, so I'd rather do it myself then have to do it over." He left the room and swiftly headed down the stairs to the kitchen where he held the cleaning supplies.
He opened the closet door pulling out the necessary materials and hauling them upstairs before quickly working to get the blood from the floor and walls. Thankfully, he never used tacky wall coverings like wallpaper. It was just plain old ugly. |
When Solomon was gone Holden curled up in the fetal position and started to silently cry because his back really hurt. "Why is it always me?" He quietly asked himself. He heard Solomon coming back up, he quickly sat up and wiped his tears away. When he sat up he jarred his back and he was in even more pain. Holden wanted to just die.

Solomon knew Holden was upset, but was unsure if he was going to question him about it. He really didn't want to take Holden outside, since he knew his back was bothering him so much. He didn't want to upset Holden any more by telling him he had to rest. He sighed, quickly finishing and taking the stuff downstairs to rinse them out. He couldn't help but think in the back of his mind that Holden's back pain was his fault, since he wasn't able to heal it all the way. In order to fix it properly, he'd have to break Holden's back to reset it...and that was not an option.

"We need to do something Solomon, Holden is in immense pain. He is a strong person, and he wont let on that his back hurts. If he does he will punish himself." Alicia said as she sat in the living room.
Holden waited a few minutes after Solomon left again. He stood up, it felt like every nerve in his body hurt. He had to grab onto the bedpost to keep himself up. He started to walk but he nearly fell on his face, he caught himself on the chair. "Come on Holden you can do this." Holden said to himself, as he stood up. He made it to the doorway, "Ok now just to the wall." Holden said to himself as he left the comfort of the doorway. |
Solomon remained at the foot of the stairs, listening to Holden struggle. "I know, but, I can't turn him now...." He leaned on the banister with a heavy sigh. He could change Holden anytime he wanted to, but the problem was, he didnt want to..ever. He loved Holden, but Jasmine was right. One could only stand being with another for so long. "Dammit Alicia...I think I'm going to do it...it's..for his safety and benefit..yeah." He didn't sound so sure.

"Yes you can Solomon, he may be weak but he can handle it." She said as she stood up. "Then do it." Alicia said as she teleported behind Solomon and giving him a gentle nudge.
Holden made it to the wall and took a breather. "God I'm so out of shape." He said trying to lighten up his mood. He walked to the banister and grabbed it before he fell. He slowly walked down each step, he made it to the mini landing as he saw Alicia and Solomon. He quickly straightened up and smiled, "Well hi there you two." He said trying to ignore his back pain. |
Solomon frowned, "But.." He looked up seeing Holden at the top of the first landing, "Holden.." he hurried up to meet Holden, "Listen, I know you're back is bothering you more than you'll tell me." He glanced to Alicia, unsure of how to bring up the decision he had made.

"My back is fine." Holden said with a smile. "But something is wrong, you look upset." He asked looking to Alicia and back to Solomon. "If it's about my back, trust me its fine." He said as his back spasmed.
"You are lying Holden, I just felt your back spasm and I'm sure Solomon did to." Alicia said looking at Solomon. "Tell him." She hissed. |
Solomon nodded, "Holden, please don't lie to me, I know it's bothering you. And..I..was hoping to put this off loner, but I..feel it's for your physical benefit.." Solomon kept glancing towards Alicia. Turning someone was never so awkward for him.

"It hurts a little bit, other than that it is fine." Holden said getting nervous. He tried to move away from Solomon but he couldn't. "No you can't wipe my memory." He said starting to panic. He looked at Alicia with brown eyes.

Solomon raised his head a bit, tilting it, "Holden that's not what I'm going to do. I told you that." He tightened his hold around Holden, taking a deep breath. "It's frightening, and painful, but you just have to relax and trust me Holden." His lips hovered over Holden's neck for just a moment before he bit down on his pale flesh, allowing the blood to flow over his tongue. It would be a shame he could never have Holden's blood after this.
He could hear Holden's heart race as his blood began to get thinner and harder to pump to his brain. After what seemed like an eternity Solomon removed his mouth from Holden's neck, gently setting him down while he waited for Holden's heart to stop. Meanwhile, he pulled out a knife from a hidden sheath, ready to cut his hand when the time came. |
Holden's eyes got wide when Solomon said that he wasn't gonna erase his memory. He gasped for air when Solomon bit into his neck. "Do I want this? Do I wanna risk loosing Solomon? Do I wanna be alive for all of eternity?" He asked himself as he felt his heart beating really fast. "Yes I do." He said to himself again. He felt his heart slowing, Holden soon went into unconsciousness.
Alicia winced when Solomon bit into Holden's neck. "You know after this we wont be able to keep secrets from him." Alicia said looking back at Holden who was now on the floor. She didn't like the fact that he looked dead, which he will be soon enough. |
"Well, hopefully now we won't have to." He waited a moment longer until Holden's heart stopped. He began to count as he prepared to cut his hand. He suddenly slid the knife across his hand, opening Holden's mouth as he let his blood pour into Holden's mouth.

"I agree, I just hope he will be ok. It's painful and he isn't at 100%. Alicia said with a sigh. "Not to sound like a ass, but I wonder what powers he'll get." She said pondering. "Want me to help you take him to the bed?" Alicia asked Starting up the stairs.

Solomon shook his head, "I've got this under control. Just..go occupy yourself." He lifted Holden up and walked him to Solomon's room setting him down on the King sized bed. He quickly moved to sit on top of Holden, holding his head still for he was about to regain consciousness and likely thrash. At least, that's what usually happened..not always.

"Ok." Alicia said as she teleported to her house to get cleaned up.
Holden slowly opened his eyes, he saw Solomon on top of him. "You didn't have to knock me out to get me in bed." He said with a weak smile. He opened his mouth to say something but he got ravaged by pain. "Gah!!" He yelled as his body somewhat lifted off of the bed. Holden moaned in pain. "When Jasmine did this it didn't feel as bad." He said gasping for breath, even though he couldn't breath. |
Solomon forced him down, placing his forehead onto Holden's, "Just stay calm Holden. It's only going to get a lot worse. I will do what I can for you, but right now, I'm trying to reset your back." He wrapped his telekinetic power around Holden's back, snapping it in many places before repairing it perfectly.

Holden screamed out in pain when Solomon broke his back. He passed out from the pain, he woke back up a few seconds later, his back felt great. "What's next?" Holden asked sounding out of breath.

"Soreness for a few days, random animal attacks, oh and a slight loathing towards the sun. Nothing too peculiar now." He smiled a bit, sitting up and moving next to Holden, "You're going to need to feed soon. You have three choices, one of my servants, bottles, or animals..if you can grab one that is."

Holden grabbed his ears, "You don't have to yell." He closed his eyes, "I guess I will drink from a servant, the bottles didn't smell to good." He said as his ears stopped picking up every single sound. He looked at Solomon as he sat up, "Wow your face, looks... Its like I'm seeing your face for the first time." Holden said as he felt Solomon's face. He smiled, "You still are very handsome." Holden said as he kissed Solomon on the lips.

Solomon smiled, kissing him back, "It gets easier to block out certain noises over time." He suddenly stood hurrying over to the window, "Fuck!" He disappeared, reappearing in in the pasture next to Rilov. The young thoroughbred's knees collapsed under him once more, driving him down. Solomon called for Jack telepathically, telling him to call the vet.
He gently helped the horse down to his side, keeping him calm with his telepathy. He kept the stallion's head down, to keep his neck straight and thus his windpipe unclenched. The boat ride over must've really weakened his legs, as he was confined most of the trip for his own safety. He glanced back, hearing Zera pitching her fit, as always, "I know, I know, hush you. Jack's calling Dr. Sarasin." The mare snorted, pushing Solomon with her massive head. |
"What's wrong?" Holden asked as Solomon disappeared. He got up and went to the window, "Oh no Rilov." He said as he ran to the stairs. "It would be so much faster if I knew how to teleport." He said as he ran down the stairs. He liked the fact that he didn't run out of breath, Holden jumped the last five stairs, he landed in the pasture. "How in the hell did I do that?" He asked himself as he turned to see Solomon. "Is he ok?" Holden asked as he saw Damien and Kali rear up. "Its ok you two." Holden said holding his hand up.
"That's not Holden." Holden heard. "Yes I am Holden." He said looking around to see who said that. "No your not." He heard again, "Who is saying that?" Holden asked confused. "You call me Damien." He looked at Damien and then at Solomon. "I can hear Damien, I can hear his thoughts." He said even more confused. |
Solomon shooed the horses away, "Great, now tell them to move it before they kick me." He turned to see Jack running over.
"Is he okay?" He knelt beside Solomon, pulling the stethoscope from around his neck. He placed the it over Rilov's lungs, "Well he's breathing alright, thanks to you. Solomon.." He looked over, removing the scope. He gave Solomon a very serious look, "Solomon, I don't think the surgery would help him." |
"You two need to back up, Solomon is helping Rilov." Holden said walking closer to Kali and Damien.
"You are evil." "That's not nice Kali." Holden said looking at Kali. "Now please back up, we are trying to help Rilov." He said as he got closer to them. "Your going to kill us." "I would never do such a thing Kali. Zera tell them please." Holden said looking at Zera. "Please help Rilov. He... He is my best friend." "We are trying to help him, but Kali and Damien are to close to Solomon." "Move away, he wont hurt you." Damien and Kali moved to the other side of the pasture. Holden nodded thanks at Zera and rushed over to Rilov. "It will all be ok Rilov." Holden said as he kneeled down and put his hand on the horse. "My knees." "Shh its ok they will be fine ok?" Holden said a little sad. Holden's eyes turned light blue. He closed his eyes to feel Rilov's body. He started at his neck and went down his entire body. He got down to the horses knees. Holden's knees became really sore, he opened his eyes and looked at Solomon. |
Solomon frowned, "Yeah I know, but I certainly couldn't have done it sooner, if that's what you're implying. He's still a bit young. Is the vet on her way I assume?"
Jack nodded, "She is..she's about 20 minutes away. Can he get up at all?" Solomon looked to the young stallion, forcing the urge to get up into his mind. Him and Jack both moved, helping the horse stand up. Solomon kept himself under Rilov's chest, bent forward, support most of the horse's frontal weight on his back. He was forced to put his hands on his knees to help support him, "I can do this for about 10 minutes, then he's on his own until she gets here." Jack stared, "H-how..? I mean, I know vampires are strong, but still, that's at least 1000 pounds of muscle and bone." Solomon groaned, forcing his energy to his back and legs, "He's not an idiot, he's also got a bit of weight on his legs..I'm not completely supporting him. Ahh..this hurts.." He winced a bit. "Holden..has he..said anything?" |
Holden backed up when Solomon picked Rilov up. "Other than his knees hurt and he wants us to help." He said as he walked to Solomon. "Do you know anything about bones?" Holden asked as he kneeled down in front of Solomon.

"I healed your freaking back, Holden, I know a thing or two. Look, if you're aiming to try and help him, don't. Just go get Alicia and have her help you with your first meal. I can handle this." He closed his eyes tightly, forcing himself to stay up, "You could ask him to put a little more effort into it though.."

"Can you put a little more effort into standing up." Holden said looking at Rilov.
Rilov put more weight on his feet taking some pressure off of Solomon. "Better?" He asked Solomon. "Alicia I need to feed and Solomon told me to ask you for help with that." He said still looking at Solomon. "I will be there in a second." Alicia said as she teleported to Holden. "Let's go." She said as she grabbed Holden and teleported away. |
Solomon nodded, "Thank you." He gave Alicia a nod as a greeting, "Thank you Alicia." His face started to get red as he worked to keep the horse up. "Would you go greet her Jack? I think she's rounding the corner now."
Jack nodded, hurrying off. He came to the driveway just as Dr. Sarasin pulled up. He led her back to the pasture, explaining the falls. "He's never fallen, and i fear his knees may be getting weaker from they way they are." Dr. Sarasin sighed with a nod, "That is possible. I know Solomon's been pushing us to operate, but Rilov is simply too young for anesthesia. Not to mention, his recovery is not guaranteed...he might not be able to walk afterwards..and.." She paused, looking over to see a very red-faced Solomon supporting the horse. "What the hell? Solomon, you're a vampire, not super man." |
Alicia landed in a ally, "Ok Holden now the first thing to do when you feed off of a human is knock them out, we don't like to kill but you are gonna have to. The first feeding you need all 10 pints from the human. Now I will help you get a human over here by putting them in a trance." Alicia said as she watched for a human to walk by.
"I don't think I could kill a person." Holden said a little shocked at Alicia's tone. "You have to Holden, unless you wanna die." She said as she put a human that walked by in a trance. "Now I want you to put your index finger on her forehead and 'punch' the frontal lobe of the cerebral cortex." Alicia said as she grabbed the human. Holden put his index finger on the woman's forehead, he closed his eyes and mentally punched the woman's brain. "Good now bite her neck." She said in a low tone. He hesitated, he could hear the woman's heart beating. It was starting to drive him nuts. "Fuck it." He said as he bit into the woman's neck. The ruby red hot liquid flowed down his throat with ease, within a minute the woman's blood was drained. Holden kept on sucking her neck even though nothing was coming out. "Holden, Holden! Stop she's dry." Alicia said as she shook Holden. Holden looked up, his eyes were bright red. "More." He said in a deep and raspy voice. "Damn it I hate it when this happens. No Holden you have had enough." She said as she slapped him across the face. Holden's eyes went back to their normal brown color. "What the hell was that for?" He asked rubbing his cheek. "Sorry you went blood vengeance for a second." She said with a sigh. "Blood vengeance? What is that?" He asked still rubbing his cheek. "It's when a newly turned vampire or one that hasn't feed for a long time. They drain a person's blood and they instantly want more, and they go on a killing rampage." She said as she threw the woman to the ground. "Now we should go before someone notices us. Do you know any fundamentals of teleportation?" She asked grabbing Holden's arm. "No, but when I jumped from the stairs I landed in the pasture." He said shaking his head. "Well you just need to picture where you want to go and then concentrate on that spot." She said. "Ok, so the pasture." Holden said as he closed his eyes and pictured the pasture. He concentrated and within a few seconds they landed on the ground a few feet from Solomon. "Ow, well ok we got to work on the landing but you did good." Alicia said as she stood up and rubbed her butt. |
Rilov squealed a bit as the two appeared. Solomon collapsed as the horse shook, sending the horse's full weight to his bad legs. Of course, this also meant that the force sent Rilov to the ground as well. "Fucking Christ Holden! Get out of here! Dammit!" He wriggled out from underneath the struggling horse.
He turned to the horse, placing his head on his soft nose, trying to calm him. He looked to Dr. Sarasin, "Am I just better off having him put down? I mean, I know his knees are beyond hope..." He ran his other hand through his hair with a heavy sigh. The woman sighed, "Not to be grim Solomon, but that might end up being the case. I brought the trailer, I can take him with me, see if there's anything we can do?" Solomon stood, placing his hands on his head and pacing in tight circles, "I guess. I'll help you load him in. Jack?" The man nodded, moving to help Solomon haul the horse to his feet. Solomon assumed the same position, this time supporting the entire weight of the horse as he strained to walk the horse to the trailer. Sarasin gasped, unsure of what to do, "Solomon! Be reasonable! I mean, really, you can't haul that horse to my trailer. At least let me bring it over!" She rushed past him, working to unlock the trailer doors and prepare the ramps. |
Holden was taken aback when Solomon yelled at him. He got upset and teleported away, he landed by a lake. "I didn't know I was gonna scare Rilov." Holden said as he grabbed his knees. He sat there for a few minutes staring at the lake. He heard someone walking up to him. He sniffed the air, "Human." He said in a low voice.
"Well hello there young man, what are you doing out here all by your lonesome?" A man creepily asked. "I can take care of myself." Holden said not looking up from the lake. "Well I'm sure you can but I can stay here with you and take care of you." The man said raising his eyebrow. "I wouldn't try anything if I were you." Holden said with a sigh. "Don't worry about me sweety." The man said as he put his hand on Holden's shoulder. Holden's eyes turned black. "I told you not to touch me." He said as he grabbed the mans hand and snapped it like a twig. "You will die now." He said as he swung the man to the ground. The man's arm got pulled out of the socket. Holden turned the man over and got on top of him, his eyes still glowing black. "Death will be swift." Holden said as he bit down into the man's neck, draining the man of his blood. He got off of the man when his blood was gone, "I told you it would be swift." Holden said as he wiped his lips. He pushed the body so it would roll into the lake. He looked up at the sky as he heard a splash. "Great just fucking great Solomon." Alicia thought to herself as Holden disappeared. "I'll let him think for a few minutes." She said as she crossed her arms. |
Solomon paused outside the trailer, carefully lowering Rilov to his legs. He waited until the horse was sure footed. He sighed, wiping his forehead as he straightened out. His back cracked many times, causing him to shudder. "I know he's in good hands, Rita. Thank you. I just hope he ends up happy either way." He stumbled a bit as he turned around, quickly using Jack as support, "Dammit..Holden!" He quickly disappeared, appearing a few yard behind Holden. "Holden I'm..Holden I'm so sorry."

"It's fine, its to bad you just got here, I just had dessert. I would of shared." He said still looking at the sky. "It's beautiful isn't it?" He asked still looking up. Holden sighed, "Come, join me." Holden said patting the ground.

Solomon came over, sitting down putting his head in his hands, "I would've passed on that anyway." He shut his eyes tightly letting out a shaky breath. "I..don't know what I'm going to do Holden."

Holden looked at Solomon, "About Rilov?" He asked not wanting Solomon to cry. "It will all be ok, Zera will be fine after awhile." He said with a smile.
"Evil." "Oh come on I'm not evil." Holden said looking around. "Ok this hearing animals thing sucks." He said looking around to see what was talking to him. "You killed that innocent man." "No I didn't he was gonna have his way with me." He said throwing his hands up in the air. "Evil." The animal said as it attacked. Holden sighed, a bird landed on his head and started pecking him. "Son of a." He said as he reached up and grabbed the birds legs. "I'm not evil, no I will let you go if you promise me that you wont attack me." He said looking into the birds eyes. "Let me go murderer." "Whatever." Holden said as he threw the bird up into the air. "Now go away." He said. "Evil." Holden sighed again, "Well at least it wasn't as bad as that squirrel that attacked you." He said with a chuckle. |
Solomon sigh, his power lashing out at the bird after Holden let it go, causing it to explode. "You'll learn to block it out..." He sighed, "I'm not worried about her..." He lifted his head, his normally icy blue eyes a dull gray as he looked to the sky, "It seems, that no matter how hard I try to make up for being automatically damned, Karma throws in something extremely emotionally painful at me. It makes me even wonder why I haven't just..." He trailed off. "I mean, first he's born with a bad knee, then I meet you, one of the happiest days in my life, and not even that can be left alone. You've been attacked so many times, and each time I was afraid I was going to loose you, just because I couldn't lie to you. Now, you're doomed to the same damned fate as myself, and my horse is more than likely going to die tonight."
He didn't like complaining. He hated pity. He hated people feeling sorry for him. Not to mention, he hated the feeling of 'whining'. He sighed again, letting himself fall backwards, closing his eyes. "I just don't want any more of this...but...I could never do anything that would separate us either. Holden," he opened his eyes again, looking over to him, truthfully, you're the only thing that will end up being consistently good in my life." |
"Solomon I don't care that I have been attacked, I'm used to it." Holden said with a sigh. "It's not damned if we are together." He said with a smile. "And I'm sorry for Rilov, if I knew what powers I have and how to use them I would of helped." He said feeling bad for Rilov. Holden's eyes turned light blue. "You have been there for me Solomon, and I will always be here for you." Holden said as he laid down next to Solomon.
He put his head on Solomon's chest. "Life is funny sometimes, I mean less than a week ago I was wondering when I would be put in a coma next. Now I'm just wondering what I can do to make you feel better." He said as he put his hand on Solomon's chest next to his head. |
Solomon smiled slightly, wrapping his arm around Holden as he laid his head down, "You can go shove a stick up Karma's ass..." He chuckled slight, kissing the top of Holden's head, "I just wish she'd go pick on someone else for awhile. Just leave me the hell alone." He smiled, his eyes returning to their bright ice blue, "You always know how to make me feel better Holden. Alicia sure knows what she's doing."
