I liked Transformers, but I didn't see much of the series ever. I do like the cartoon movie though. I'm not enough of a buff to be interested in seeing the others though. I'm curious, but I'm not going to panic about it. I liked Beast Wars though, but I honestly couldn't care less if there's a movie about it.

I still haven't bothered to watch Avatar. I muck around too much in fantasy to care about blue people in wierd plant, and as far as I've heard, it's Ferngully for people not old enough to know about it, or who don't watch cartoons.

Echo-chan713 07-13-2011 01:22 AM

I remember Ferngully, I remember watching it in school when I was like 8 or 9 when discussing about the rain forest and how to save it oTL

it was pointless

Quiet Man Cometh 07-13-2011 01:51 AM

It has a point. Look out for the rainforest and treat nature nicely. It may have been on obvious point but it had a point. Avatar, from what I've heard from people who've watched both, is essentially Fergully with technology avatar-ness in place of faerie magic.

Clementine 07-13-2011 02:12 AM

Avatar is basically Pocahontas. Just like how the Clash of the Titans is Hercules. The disney movies are being remade into live action. Plus, the SAME actor is in both of those movies :/ I don't like Sam worthington or whatever his name is. Nope.

Echo-chan713 07-13-2011 02:57 AM

I saw Avatar it was more like what I heard Dancing with Wolves, but it reminded me like Pocahontas

Quiet Man Cometh 07-15-2011 02:19 AM

I'm pretty sure Clash of the Titans (the original) predates Hercules, and if you're refering to the Disney movie, which I assume you are, Greece damanded a written apology for that one. Hearsay really on my part but it makes sense to me. I thought it was a horrible movie and basically a money grab on Disney's part. Money grab fine, but don't mess around with serious cultural figures! Zeus and Hera are Hercules parents...no. Pegasus was made from clouds for infant Hercules...also no. Hercules was a nice guy...not really. Zeus and Hera were happily married...what myth were they reading? Etc. etc.

Saw a trailor for Cowboys and Aliens. It doens't look half bad actually. Looks fun. :). Thinking about it, there's no particular reason aliens can't have been around way back when, and so on.

Echo-chan713 07-15-2011 02:40 AM

Well they had to make it child appropriate, they can't really say that Zeus was cheating on his wife constantly and raped a mortal woman. There's a whole Nostalgia chick review about Hercules.

here it is: http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/vid...27032-hercules

Quiet Man Cometh 07-15-2011 02:52 AM

Computer's arguing with me about the video so will need to check it out later.

It's not just the parentage thing though. Lost of parts in the story and in greek myth are hardly appropriate to be put in a cartoon for kids. It's just not really a kid's story to begin with, and especially not with the way they presented it. I've seen stories about Hercules/Heracles in kids books they they simply left out inappropriate details, they didn't alter them completely. That's my beef with the movie.

Disney mangled The Little Mermaid as well but that one is a kids' story and elements where there even though they were shifted around quite a bit. There was more to the story in the original, but Disney just left that material out, rather than change it to fit. Even thogh TLM isn't "proper" I still like it. I can't say the same for Hercules.

Echo-chan713 07-15-2011 03:02 AM

Maybe they liked the theme of Greek Mythology but didn't get into what they were dealing with

Quiet Man Cometh 07-15-2011 04:07 AM

Maybe. Not sure what the thought process might have been. It just didnt' seem to end well, at least for me.

Clementine 07-15-2011 11:54 AM

I like the disney movies. They are classic ^^ (the old ones anyways) I don't like sam worthington who plays the main characters in both avatar and clash of the titans (the new one) and I didn't like either of those movies.

Quiet - Disney did The Hunchback of Notre Dame as a kid's movie. A kid's movie...
There's nothing they won't Disnify XD I mean seriously, what's next, a Disnified version of Dante's Inferno?
....I actually wouldn't mind seeing that lmao. Train wrecky goodness.

(Although HfND did create Hellfire, one of my absolute favorite song scenes in a Disney film yet, so there you go.)

There is an anime Dante's Inferno after the video game and I love it dead babies, vagina monsters, the things on why I don't believe in Christianity
