Laurel nodded, pulling the blanket up around him before running a hand through his hair, "Get some rest then," she ordered quietly.

Nic didn't nod. But after a moment he slowly closed his eyes once more.

Laurel stroked his hair for awhile before sitting back. She stared at Nic, her mind a jumbled mess. She didn't even know where to start sorting through her thoughts. She started with the basics.

I'm stronger than I was. I stand on my own two feet. Dominic Duncan is mine.

She worked through her mind, trying to figure out how she was feeling. It would take time. But she kept a careful eye on Nic as she thought.

Nic wasn't too interesting to watch as he slowly fell asleep again.

Laurel decided to stay by his side until he woke again, then she'd convince him to let her help change his clothes.

Nic slept for a solid few hours before waking up again. By that time, Blaze had visited Kale again with some more sugar.

Laurel was still beside him and noticed when he was waking up. "How are you feeling?" she asked as she put a hand on his arm.

"Yeah, how're you feeling, lover log?" Kale called from across the room.

Nic grunted a little, replying to both at once.

"Good," Laurel replied, ignoring Kale, "'cause I think it's time you got changed."

Nic's nose twitched a little.

"I doubt they've changed your clothes since you went under three days ago. And you stink," she added.

Nic sniffed a little, seeming to disagree.

"You do," Laurel retorted, she already had a change of close beside her which she had retrieved a little while ago while Blaze was visiting Kale. "I'll help you, c'mon," she motioned for him to try and sit up.

Nic didn't try. "... I'll change after I get out of here," he told her. Even though his expression said a different reason. He already felt vulnerable enough not being able to do anything on his own. The last thing he wanted to do now was show off the scars on his back.

Laurel looked at Nic for a long, silent moment. Then slowly she nodded, "Alright, but we're at least going to wash your face, hands and feet," she decided. She seemed to have expected this outcome as she reached for the basin on water and medical soap.

Nic still seemed to think that he smelled perfectly fine, but it looked like he was willing to accept that compromise.

Laurel nodded, "You'll feel better," she told him as she dipped a soft wash cloth into the water and wrung it out. She gently wiped the sweat off his face, careful to keep his hair and the pillow dry. She also wiped behind his neck and held his head up as she grabbed a dry towel. She paused a moment and then moved to his arms.

That wasn't a part of the negotiation, but Nic couldn't really do anything about it.

Once she was one with his hands she moved to his arms and massaged them a bit, trying to loosen them after being inactive for so long. When she was done she washed his feet off and then began to massage his feet. She was actually very skilled at this whole thing which wasn't all that surprising when one factored in how many years she had watched over her father. But throughout it all, she didn't say a word.

Frei went to find Raven wearing a flower two piece swim suit.

Nic didn't say anything. But every now and then his feet twitched when she was massaging them.

Raven was taking a nap in his room.

Eventually Laurel moved up Nic's legs, working the muscles out, "We should get your legs elevated for a little while," she suggested quietly.

Frei stared at Raven for a long moment before reaching out and tickling his foot.

Nic figured arguing would be a little pointless, so he didn't.

Raven snorted a short chuckle before pulling away his foot and rolling over.

Laurel grabbed a few pillows and propped up Nic's legs before covering him back up with the blanket. "Do you want something to eat?"

Frei punched him in the knee.

Nic shook his head.

That woke Raven up with a little cuss.

"Thirsty?" she asked next as she took a seat beside his bed once more.

Frei crossed her arms. They had little floaties on them.

Nic shook his head again.

Raven blinked and hugged his knee, taking a moment to come to reality. "... You kicked my knee?" he clarified.

Laurel nodded, "Do you want to sleep more or is there something I can get for you?"

Frei blinked, looking bored as usual. She'd probably learned it from Snow.

Nic shook his head once more; he didn't want anything else.

Raven hoped she had picked it up from Snow. Otherwise he was in a world of trouble. "Don't wake me up like that," he said, just in case that wasn't obvious as he slowly sat up.

Laurel stared at him for a long moment, "I don't trust you just laying there and thinking so would you like to listen to music or should I read to you?" she asked simply.

Frei blinked again.

Nic blinked blankly, not getting it.

Raven yawned a bit and scratched his head. "... Don't you want to spend time with Wolfe?" he asked.

Laurel was silent for awhile before sighing, "I won't let you lay here and brood," she explained, "You're mentally unstable." She seemed to be more blunt than usual.

Frei clearly wanted to swim. "Wolfe's brooding," she said stiffly.

Nic blinked blankly again.

Raven sighed a little and rubbed his eyes. "Alright," he decided. "But only until dinner."

Laurel was silent, presumably waiting for an answer.

Frei shrugged.

Nic didn't answer.

So Raven got up and shooed Frei off to the pool before putting on some swimming trunks and joining her.

So after another long moment Laurel pulled out a book, "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer..." and started reading.

Frei was waiting by the slide.

Raven used the bit of energy he had gotten from his nap on Frei.

James was starting to become more recognizable. Every so often, his own voice would come out. He still stuck around Yue like a puppy.

Yue was still recovering herself, so she mostly rested.

Finally, there was a breakthrough. James began to sing, the first time he had sung since losing himself. His voice osculated, he seemed to get closer and closer to his own singing voice. Finally, he hit it and his eyes seemed to clear.

Yue didn't say or do anything, letting James come back on his own.
