"Sorry!" Missy called back.

"Huh..." Yue muttered to herself. "... I guess we should have listened to Tao..." She shook her head a little. "Yin Long does like to create 'ghost men'," she explained to Wolfe, "But Nic should have been able to find some sort of evidence that he was alive if he was still working for the Yin Long..."

Nic shrugged.

Lucy smiled, "The water's great, hurry and change!" she called back, pointing to the glass

Wolfe shrugged slightly, "I guess the Okorie covered their tracks well enough to even avoid Dominic. I wonder if there was a reason they practically invited him into their system." he mused quietly.

Laurel was silent for a moment, "Was the food alright?" she asked quietly.

Yue didn't say anything.

Nic nodded.

The doctor was cautiously optimistic about Kale's progress. Kale was even moving slightly though he didn't seem to be too happy.

Laurel smiled a little, "Good. You doing anything else today?"

Blaze had still barely left Kale's side. But now she was doing something on her tablet with one ear phone on.

Nic nodded again.

Laurel glanced down for a moment, "What? More research?" she asked.

Again, Nic nodded. Yeah, he was very much his old self.

Laurel smirked a little, "I'm glad you're feeling better." she stated to Nic before slapping his arm a bit harder than a friendly slap and turning to leave.

Nic blinked down at his arm before glancing over at Laurel for a brief moment. Then he shrugged it off before going back to work.

Laurel kept herself busy, meeting with Rosen for awhile before going and knocking on Nic's door.

Frei wanted out into the gardens and found Missy and Lucy. "How did you meet Nic?" she asked Missy blankly.

Nic grunted for her to enter. He was on his computer like usual.

"Uh... He found me," Missy replied simply to Frei.

So Laurel invited herself in and sat down on the bed, bringing her knees up and resting her chin on them. "I don't mean to bother you again but something is troubling me." she said frankly.

Frei seemed to take a moment to think that over then she nodded, "You like him?" she asked ambiguously.

Nic continued to work on his computer quietly, but it looked like he was slowly finishing up what he had been working on.

Missy blinked, blushing a little at Frei's frankness. "Uh..." she muttered. "I'll always like him a little, I guess," she replied. "But there will never be anything between us."

Laurel seemed to be content to wait, rocking back and forth a little on the bed as she hugged her knees.

Frei slowly frowned, "Do you like working for him?" she asked in a tone that seemed to indicate she was repeating her former question. Lucy chuckled a little.

It took awhile, but after a few minutes, Nic turned his chair around.

Missy let out a snort. "I don't work for anyone," she replied. "I owed him a favor is all."

Laurel glanced at Nic with a slightly confused expression and with very unusual bluntness asked, "Why did you cry?"

Frei pondered her words again before nodding, "When will the favor be up?" she asked next.
