Snow's smile grew as she tossed him a chip already inserted into a small tablet. On the screen was indeed the bar. It was her favorite part, where many of the guys fought each other over her 'tipsy' self. It seemed like she had taken the time to edit it, as the scene was shown from at least six different angles. She had clearly planted more than one camera.
Long watched it through with a blank expression before tossing the tablet back. "... Alright," he agreed. "I'll find out what I can for the footage you have."
"Time is of the essence," Blaze reminded him. Long nodded. |
Snow slapped Raven on the back rather hard, clearly pleased.
Raven choked a little, still trying to get over that they were making a deal with someone that was supposed to be as dangerous as Wolfe but not on their side.
So Long put his mask back on, picked up the bag at his feet, and left first. When he was gone, Blaze let out a long sigh. |
Snow smiled, "He seems decent enough," she decided, "When will he get back to us with the information?"
"Before sunrise," Blaze replied, confidently. "Probably sooner."
Snow nodded, "I'll take Raven back to the room and return shortly," she said, grabbing Raven's arm.
So Blaze nodded and waited. Raven looked like he needed a drink.
"Order room service," Snow suggested as she dragged him out. "What can I say? You just draw the quiet, powerful type," she grinned wickedly, "Long's a cutie, you have a tough decision to make," she sympathized.
"... Maybe I'll just get a dog..." Raven muttered.
Snow laughed, "Most gay men would die to be in your position," she replied before pausing, "... Or maybe just die." She seemed to be very amused with herself tonight.
"... If I pass out, you have to carry me back," Raven reminded her.
Snow thought about that for a moment, "To be honest, I'm surprised you're still standing," she replied, eyeing him, "Perhaps you're more of a man than the lower half would suggest."
"... When I get back... I'll convince Wolfe to make you do something awful," he decided.
Snow chuckled.
She returned to Blaze's side as quickly as possible, "Has he come?" she asked. |
Blaze shook her head.
So Snow waited with her silently.
Two hours later, Long returned. He stopped where he had before. Waiting.
Snow tossed Long a very large memory chip. "That has everything on it. Even though I wanted to keep a few scenes for myself, I didn't," she told him.
Long plugged it into his tablet, taking a quick glance at the contents before putting it away. "... She's not in the Yin Long," he told them. "Two nights ago, she was spotted going to the Okirie."
Snow nodded a little before looking to Blaze.
"... Has she been spotted since?" Blaze asked him.
Long shook his head. "They've been keeping her close," he replied. He gave them a little more information, including the building she was likely in. "But there isn't much more I can do. It would be unwise for anyone from Yin Long to get any further involved at this time." Blaze nodded a little. |
Snow sighed a little, appearing lost in her own thoughts. "We better be off," she told Blaze before starting to walk around Long.
Long kept an eye on Snow. "One more thing," he told Blaze before tossing her a small container. "It's all I could find on short notice."
Blaze cracked it open a little before closing it and putting a hand over her mouth for a moment. "... Thank you," she told Long quietly. He nodded a little. "Keep Ming Yue safe," he reminded her. Blaze nodded before following after Snow. |
Snow rolled her eyes at Blaze when they were out of ear shot of Long, "And here you were so worried he would bring out blood. Look, he even gave you a present."
Blaze clutched the container a little closer. "... He's changed a bit," she said quietly.
Snow snorted and was silent for a little while, "Well, we know for sure Laurel's with the Okorie. But we don't know where they've taken her. I suppose the real hunt begins now," she mused.
"I know little about the Okorie," Blaze admitted.
Snow nodded, "We haven't had the time or need to do research on them either," Snow replied, "They're very private."
"Do you have any other resources in Chicago?" Blaze asked.
Snow thought about it for a moment, "... Kandy does," she replied with some reluctance.
Blaze seemed to understand Snow's reluctance. But they needed resources.
Snow sighed, "I'll give her a call when we get back."
True to her word, Snow called Kandy. It was a long conversation without much of Snow talking. When Snow hung up she looked really tired. "There's nothing we can do tonight, she's going to call some people tonight and we'll meet up with them in the morning," she explained to Blaze. |
Blaze nodded a little. Raven was already asleep. As Snow got ready for bed, Blaze checked in to see if Kale was up.
Kale was asleep, the nurse answered and gave her a little update. Kale would be able to start slowly walking again soon.
Blaze thanked her and said she might call back later.
In the morning, Snow woke with a yawn to a knock on their door. "Wonderful..." she muttered as she went to open it. In streamed punk looking, chain and hair dyed outfitted teens. "Yer Snow right?" the one who looked like the leader asked. Snow nodded and the teen smiled, "Good, we're at the right place dudes!" and everyone streamed in. Everyone being about fifteen teens of various ages.
Blaze woke with a light yawn as everyone came in. She was quickly out of bed and ready to get moving. Raven still hadn't woken yet.
The group told Blaze and Snow that they had a number of buildings where Laurel could possibly be. The Okorie were secretive but stayed in a certain area. They would fan out and scout around.
Blaze paid attention, giving any helpful input she had. It looked like Raven might stay asleep until someone woke him up.
