"Can't you just get chains?" Canada asked. "And do you have a lot of warning before your largest storms?" He knows not being prepared ends up causing the most damage.

Yokuutsu 10-16-2011 09:52 PM

"Yes, but depending on the place, chains are not available except by special order. Which might not come before the storm. Also, sometimes we don't have warning. Sometimes the storm...they say it's not going to be that big or bad...and then the electricity is out and it's just bad. Other people are just stupid and will drive in bad weather with bald tires and stuff." Southerners are a bit stubborn to say the least.

DarkForbidden-Love 10-16-2011 10:07 PM

"I can understand that but most Canadians are too stubborn to even think about not having certain comodities available for sudden storms. And it takes quite a lot to have a Canadian [lace of work to shur down." Even in really bad storms people would head to work and just stay there till the storm finishes.

Yokuutsu 10-16-2011 10:13 PM

"Ours may or may not close, but that doesn't mean anyone will be there to work. Many will just stay home if the weather is bad no matter if the place closes or not. Sometimes it isn't worth it to even try. Also, in some places at least, that buying special things for snow and the like is a waste of money because the bad storms don't even happen once a year. Though tornadoes and the like are different stories."

DarkForbidden-Love 10-17-2011 08:41 PM

"Thankfully we don't get many tornadoes up here." Just snow storms which his people have adapteed to. "Not something my people would enjoy give them a heavy three day snow storm any day."

Yokuutsu 10-17-2011 08:57 PM

"There's rarely a bad tornado...though when there is...God help you all, you know? Death and destruction all over the place. Other wise, just chill with some candles or flashlights. More than likely a tornado will never touch down and it works out for everyone. But there are always exceptions. Always. We're more prepared for those than snow or ice storms."

DarkForbidden-Love 10-17-2011 09:34 PM

"I do know from the few times it has happened here." Ande very time was worse then the one before, "Give us any other kind of weather." Extremem heat and extreme cold they can take, sudden uncareing and destructive winds the Canadians would prefer if they never saw.

Yokuutsu 10-17-2011 09:54 PM

"But we're a little more prepared for them. Tornadoes are more likely than bad snow storms. Limited money means you can't prepare for everything." It's the truth and he doesn't have unlimited money. Though if he could prepare for everything, he would. "Eh...I'm used to the winds. I pretty much ignore them."

DarkForbidden-Love 10-19-2011 09:33 PM

"We're used to winds but not extremly strong ones like tornadoes." Canada explains. "We prepare as much as we can but there is not a lot that we can do without also taking away from our snow protection."

Yokuutsu 10-19-2011 09:50 PM

"Be glad you are up north...else you'd have to worry about hurricanes too." William makes a face at that. "That's the problem we have. We pick tornadoes and floods and the like over snow. Though we still have lots of salt. Which no one knows how to put down at the right time so it doesn't become slush and refreeze."

DarkForbidden-Love 10-19-2011 10:09 PM

"I'm glad we don't get huricanes. We would have no idea how to really handle them well." Canada said thoughfully and solemly. "And laying salt is an art."

Yokuutsu 10-19-2011 10:11 PM

"It's too cold to get hurricanes. I hate those too. Especially when people know it's coming but refuse to move...same goes for anything like that...and I don't think there is a way to handle a hurricane well." Truth is told right there. "Apparently it is."

DarkForbidden-Love 10-19-2011 10:32 PM

"Yeah, the only way to really escape one is to move away and you stuff still gets damaged." Well, at least he thinks so. "I think the best time to lay salt is right after snow, before it melts to ice."

Yokuutsu 10-19-2011 10:35 PM

"Well except what you can take with you. But it's better than dying." William/Confederacy would rather lose his possessions instead of his life. "But then....doesn't just turn to nasty slush?" He tilts his head a bit. He isn't sure on that one though. So that's why he's asking instead.

DarkForbidden-Love 10-19-2011 10:40 PM

"Material possesions can be reboght, life cannot." A quote to live by if Canada knew one. "I don't think so, not if the snow is fresh enough."

Yokuutsu 10-19-2011 11:14 PM

"But some people still refuse to leave." He sighs a bit. "No matter how bad the storm is or anything." He shakes his head a bit. It's common sense that you should do what is needed to survive. "Mmmm...have to try that sometime then. Snow I like. Ice I hate with a passion!"
